Prince Harry to Return to UK for Invictus Games Anniversary

- Prince Harry will be returning to the UK for a ceremony marking the 10th anniversary of the Invictus games.
The Duke of Sussex will be attending the thanksgiving service at St Paul's Cathedral, London, on 8 May.
He was last seen in the UK in February, when briefly visiting King Charles after his cancer diagnosis.
The ceremony will mark the first major event the Prince will attend in the UK for some time.
It will also be the first time he is visiting since Prince Catherine went public with her own cancer diagnosis.
He is set to give a reading during the ceremony, while actor Damian Lewis will recite a poem.
Prince Harry launched the Invictus Games in 2014, a sport event for military personnel who were wounded in action.

It's a shame the invictus games has turned into the Harry and Meghan merch/ pony show. The veterans deserve far better. To think it was started with not only Harry( as he keeps pushing out it was all him) but with Prince William, The then Prince Charles ,the then Prime minister and the Ministry of Defence. Just look how far it has fallen. So very sad.

His service doesn’t mean much since the late Queen stripped him from ever donning his military uniform as he fled for financial freedom from Queen and country. Is there no one better suited to represent these games that is not labeled a traitor or defector. These veterans need better representation than Harry. No one wants to work with him because the couples expenses take away from the veterans. Maybe report on the causes the games are asking for donations. What changed??? Shameful.
Unfortunately, he's the founder so he's always going to be mentioned in the same breath as Invictus. But I agree, he's not a suitable representative of veterans... he once described combat casualties as "not people... just chess pieces that have been taken off the board."

Countries where invictus is played shouldnt be giving 30 million donation. Harry should be raising the 30 million for the vets. Invictus would make a lot more money if, they didn’t have to pay the bills of the harkles, from what they wear to their accommodation. They would be much better off with someone else as the face of invictus. So many don’t donate because of their association !

They still require Parliament to do so because that is how the Constitution is set up.
Harry will always be a prince because that is his birthright.
His peerage titles could be removed, but that requires legislation. Unfortunately, the UK currently has a PM that does not support the Removal of Titles Bill that is currently before Parliament.
This is possibly because he doesn't want to give that kind of power to the King that could affect removing the titles of some less than scrupulous individuals in the House of Lords. That could upset the balance of power in the government.
It's a fine line that everyone is walking, and it's not as simplistic as it seems. Personally, I think the titles should have all been hone automatically after their one year trial separation ended.
And then when he returns back to US he'll sell the rights to Netflix docu series

Is Invictus a UK charity? What happened to the audit of expenses for the Carparkles?
Harry has taken it over and it is now called the Invictus Foundation. It has nothing to do with the charity it once was. They used to fundraise for the event, but now taxpayers have to pay the costs of the games.

Both Germany and Canada have paid approximately $30 million each (of taxpayer's money) to host the games. These are not charitable donations, but are funds paid for by the taxpayers of the host countries.

A lot of these "charitable" organizations, etc. Are not always what we assume them to be unfortunately. I can't say much more because I'm not informed about the Invictus operations.

Don't forget to bring the kids this time. They do sport titles and are on the Line of Succession after all. People of the Commonwealth have a right to know who they are and see them.
I see your point about the titles, but a lot of people whom you don't really see are in the Line of Sucession. Being in the LOS doesn't mean you have public obligations. It simply means that your birth gives you a right to be in line to The Throne. You don't "have a right" to see their children. Royal children make apparences to fulfill public expectations, not any "right". Also, the children of the heir are more important and part of the public image of the future monarch, so that's why Harry got away with keeping his children almost entirely out of the public eye even while he was a working royal because he isn't going to be King, to his dismay it seems. But yes, why hold princely dignities if publicly you don't even exist? It doesn't make sense.

I see what you're saying, but as members of the Royal family who are more important because they are in the top ten on the Line of Succession, then all the more reason they should be fulfilling their roles as Royals, as all other members on the Line of Succession do. Making an occasional appearance so people actually know who these people are is not intrusive nor invasive.
It is an obligation they have to the people in exchange for the privilege to which they were born. _Noblesse Oblige._
If they feel they don't want to honour their positions or their titles now, then they should be removed from the Line of Succession as it's unlikely they would honour those responsibilities if called upon later.
