The actor who played Chunk is now an entertainment lawyer and negotiated Ke’s contract for Everything Everywhere
That is awesome!
I was looking to see if anyone else commented this before I did. His firm is one of the top firms as well.
Seeing Ke Huy Quan accept an Oscar this year for Everything Everywhere All At Once and calling out his Goonies pals was the best!
I think the actor who play Chunk negotiated the deal for Ke's casting in Everything Everywhere All At Once. He is an entertainment lawyer now.
@@claymccoy That is so cool! Wow, I wondered where that actor had ended up. I didn't remember seeing him in stuff later.
@@claymccoy You're 100% correct. Ke has repeatedly credited Jeff Cohen (Chunk) with the success he's found at this stage of his career.
@@claymccoy😮😅😅😮😮😮😮😮😮😅😅😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮+
I don't think I could ever forget this movie, there's too many times this movie inspired me to explore the neighborhood forest as a kid in hopes I would find secret treasure
Such an adorable couple! Hattie is gorgeous 🥰
I've been looking forward to this reaction! This movie is such a fun watch. Also hope we get to see more Hattie in the future! To me it's like she forgot the camera was there and it felt very natural.
Yeah. Start doing threesomes with her for reactions. It seems like she'd complement you two excellently and bring a very different....I'm not actually sure what to call it, but bring whatever it is.
Hattie, if you're being held under duress, blink S.O.S. in the next reaction. We will send help. LOL! You two are adorable. GREAT reaction, Psssssst... "S.O.S." ;)
Absolutely a Sweatheart she is Tom. I've been married 26 years, and she reminds me a lot of my wife when we first met. She is a keeper. I'm glad she enjoyed it. I saw Goonies at the movies in 1985 when it came out at 22, and loved it. You need to put Hattie in more videos. She has a great sense of humor, and makes watching the videos better. Better than Shaun., because he can't run on water, he! he!
Awww thank you its Shaun in the videos with me but means a lot! I hope you and your wife enjoyed it as much as I did watching it for the first time ☺️
@@HarrietteVessey Youre welcome. We did. I'm sorry, I got the names backwards. I'm getting old, lol. I still watch Cinema Rules a lot.
No don’t be sorry haha I’m glad you enjoyed the watch 😅
Did you think Tom had dragged up or something? 🤣 There’s a good idea for a future video 😂
she seems to bring him peace
She is awesome! Definitely gets your sense of humor when you tell her she looks like Sloth and she doesn’t sock you in the jaw 😂
Fantastic reaction by you both. Hattie you are an absolute delight, welcome to the channel!
"Don't you realize? The next time you see sky, it'll be over another town. The next time you take a test, it'll be in some other school. Our parents, they want the best of stuff for us. But right now, they got to do what's right for them. Because it's their time. Their time! Up there! Down here, it's our time. It's our time down here. That's all over the second we ride up Troy's bucket."
Fun Fact: The novelization confirms that Chunk's (Jeff Cohen) parents actually do "adopt" Sloth (John Matuszak), going so far as to throw him a Bar Mitzvah.
Heartbreaking Fact: According to Sean Astin, he was allowed to keep the treasure map used in the film. Several years later his mother Patty Duke (an actress herself) discovered it, thought it was just a crinkled piece of paper, and threw it in the bin.
Historical Fact: The Fratellis are loosely based off Ma Barker and the Barker-Karpis gang during the "public enemy era" of America crime history. While Ma Barker's leadership is in dispute, she was definitely an accomplice to the gang's many robberies and murders. Ma Barker and the gang met their end in a house off Lake Weir in Florida. You should read more about them.
The Inferno Fact: One Eyed Willie's ship was 105 feet long and took 2-1/2 months to construct. It was modeled after Errol Flynn's ship in The Sea Hawk (1940). The sails required more than 7,000 sq. ft. of material, the largest measured 30 ft. by 60 ft. The cast was not allowed to see the pirate ship before the scene was shot, as director Richard Donner wanted to catch their genuine reactions at the size and scope of it. When they did see it, Josh Brolin was so surprised that he exclaimed "Holy shit!" without thinking. The scene had to be re-shot. When filming ended, some of the ship's rigging was recycled for the "Pirates Of The Caribbean" ship at Disneyland, which was being renovated at the time.
God bless Chunk! He's just one of the most scene-stealing hilarious movie characters ever. Without him, we would never have gotten South Park's Eric Cartman!😂😂😂
You're right, there wasn't a single fat loudmouthed character in all of comedy before the film Goonies. Jackie Gleason? Never heard of him.
@Nick-pu3of Riiiiiight.....cause he did Honeymooners at TEN YEARS OLD!! Sure, bro! 😉
@@brianvalencia7717 There were also fat child actors, but that's immaterial. Jackie Gleason is an example of the archetype that Cartman specifically was emulating. I suppose he's more of an Archie Bunker, but that character is not so well-known outside the US. I went with Jackie for name recognition. What's certain though is that Cartman was inspired by fat, bigoted, abusive adult male characters of US television sitcoms that Parker and Stone watched in their childhood.
Definitely not Chunk though, who was sweet and adorable, never abusive. You're fixating on his physical characteristics and completely disregarding the character himself.
I must have watched the version of the film that cut out all of Chunk's racist and antisemitic bits.
This and Monster Squad were my favorite films growing up. So good.
Same here, lol. They're definitely my two favourite films from childhood.
Although, if I was forced to choose, I'd probably put monster squad just above this.
Lost boys or fright night would take third spot.
One eyed Willie is probably an UK slang term. And the talking over each other makes that movie pretty cool. It's more authentic. Not like in the garbage movies in which you'd have something like: "Person 1: says X; pause; Person 2: says Y; pause; camera change; Person 1: says Z".
Corey Feldman going a bit weird is an understatement. lol Despite his early success in other hit movies there were "rumors" he was molested by Michael Jackson. Although he denies it. He hung out with Michael as a teen and learned how to dance/moonwalk like him. Corey Haim another young actor that was friends with Feldman also accused Michael of attacking him. He became a drug attack as a result. Same rumors with Macaulay Culkin from Home Alone as well. Some say is the reason for his drug addiction too.
Hattie was SO much fun to watch this with. More Hattie please!
Tom didn't give his ok on your new relationship? I hope he doesn't get too jealous. 😁 She seems sweet, rock on brother!
There is an episode of The Goldbergs that is Goonies themed. The costume wrangler went into the studio vaults to get some similar style clothes and found THE actual Chunk shirt (which is actually a woman's blouse) and they used it in the episode.
Great episode. I love the goldberg's, especially the first 4/5 seasons.
Dude your lady is a real catch. Hold onto that one!!
This is just a feel good movie that brings back so many childhood memories. I especially adore the fact that Chunk is taking care of Sloth. Sloth’s ear wiggles just make my heat swell. He knows he will finally be loved properly.
The Goonies get their name as kids from the Goon Docks neighborhood in Astoria, Oregon. The working class area of Astoria
Funny thing about the Fratellis reminding her of the robbers in Home Alone, since this movie was co-written by Chris Columbus, director of Home Alone(and the first 2 Harry Potter). Also you forgot to mention that not only Samwise from LOTR but also Thanos(Bran) from the MCU or Llewellyn from No Country For Old Men/Cable in Deadpool 2.
A few years ago I got to watch The Goonies in theaters, and I was amazed at how well it held up. There were some people who brought their kids who were seeing it for the first time, so it was a great experience.
Lol, re: Chunk’s outfit design, Jeff Cohen said 2 common arch/stereotypes of Clothes Old People Wear back then were hawaiian shirts and plaid golf pants, and Donner had the stroke of brilliance to have Chunk be a kid who wore both at the same time.
Aw so sweet with the GF! ❤
When she made the one eye joke... Dude, you got a keeper.
This is such an iconic and classic fun movie and one of my all time favs 😊😊😊
So glad that your girlfiend is getting to experience it and she is beautiful and i love her laugh and you guys are a super cute couple 😊❤
She seems very nice.
@@playedout148 I agree. She seems like a very nice and sweet girl.
She's a keeper dude
The Goonies is my favourite movie. My dad recorded it off tv when I was a kid and I watched that VHS, commercials and all, over and over again.
When I bought it on DVD as an adult I was confused because the convenience store scene and the octopus scene were missing. That’s when I learned movies shown on tv will often have extra scenes or longer cuts because they want the movie to be a specific length so it ends on the hour instead of some random time to not mess up their schedule.
She seems sweet. Nice to meet her. Glad she's getting to watch it.
The house from the movie in Astoria Oregon was for years owed by a couple who hated fans of the movie stopping by to take pictures.. But recently it was purchased by a coupe who are huge fans and now encourage people to take photos.
The interview with your "girlfriend" looks like a hostage video. Honey, please blink twice if you want us to send in the choppers!
Haha it does!! She was so nervous 😂
@@CinemaRules Hattie + The Thing = her reaction ??
"That's my girlfriend :) . . . I'm so nervous"
I hope you and Tom will watch Beau Is Afraid, it's my favourite Ari Aster film
Thanks, Shaun! Thanks and nice to meet you, Hattie! 🏴☠ #CinemaRules #RichardDonner #TheGoonies
OMG so cute to watch you on a date! Like that it looks just like when you see someone on date night at the movies. 😂😂😂 It’s adorable.
First of all I would like to say that I'm completely shocked right now because I thought this WHOLE time you were gay!! Lmaooooooo.. And secondly, your girlfriend is BEAUTIFUL 😍 🤩 👌 💕 with a GREAT personality.. really enjoyed her on the channel.... Annnnd thirdly, still shocked you're not homesexual.. lmaaaaaao great reaction guys
OMG Hattie is adorable ❤ And I can assure you that all of these outfits are 100% authentic...we really dressed like that in the 80s in the US 😂
Yep. Yes we did! 🤣🤣🤣
Good idea to have her here, and welcome! Not that I don't wanna watch the original pair anymore... It's not that, I want, but... Good idea! lol
I love this movie and watched it many times as a kid with my siblings. Loved the reaction and you guys are so cute together. ❤ Would love to see more reactions with Hattie. Tom needs to come back though. I'm sure we all love having him there. 😅
Hatties awesome your punching above your weight there Shaun 😂😂, this reminded me of watching films with my girlfriend & she used say i was a geek for knowing the actors, directors lol😂
Hi there! Actual goonie here! Moved here from london, but originally from just south of goonie land (Astoria - I’m from boring, in Oregon. Our sister city is Dull, Scotland)
Love this movie. I've seen it at least 50 times. Brings me back to my childhood.
Dawwwee hey Hattieeee ❤❤❤, the two of you are so sweet 😊
From a South African, I can say that Harriette/Hattie seems like a lovely girl, especially as she plays Rugby 👍 Best of luck to you two together, and thanks, as usual, for a great reaction on this channel 🙏
Let me get this straight: I DON'T LIKE CHANGE. But she's so darn cute, I'll give it a go ;)
It was worth it. Don't bring back that other guy! (just joking...)
A trio might be fun! Wait, would that be called a Three-Way?
Have you watched Monster Squad? That is another fun childhood movie.
There was this kids show in the '70's in the USA called the Electric Company. 'Hey you guys!' was a catch phrase from that show. Anybody alive in 1985 would get that reference but you, not so much.
ua-cam.com/video/eL6w5bRgZp0/v-deo.html
I am with the others who want to see more Hattie. No offense to Tom but she is a lovely young lady and seems very sweet.
You have Samwise, Thanos, and Short round all in the same movie.
Aww I love Hattie. and the dynamic between the two of you, I love showing my significant other classic nostalgic movies and seeing how they react beside me (P.S love the channel
Also FYI, one-eyed-willie was slang for a trouser snake.
Jeff Cohen aka Chunk was coming down with Chicken Pox at the start of filming. It's been a while since I watched it with the pic in pic commentary with Spielberg and all the kids/teens all grown up but I think they said that's why Chunk is with the adult characters for most of the movie. I've always wondered what the alternate universe version of the movie might look like where Chunk is with the gang the whole time. Unless of course he was planned to be on his own with Sloth in the earlier drafts.
Actually in the scene where they saw the ship for the first time this scene we see is actually there 2nd reaction because in the first one Josh brolin actually yelled holy shit and so they couldn't use that take so they had to go again
Don't forget the older brother is Josh Brolin AKA Thanos.
I used to like the director Edgar Wright until he started suggesting that The Goonies has not aged well. I think it's aged like a fine wine.
Brutal! "You'd already be down there, chained to the wall." Bro, don't treat our girlfriend like that........... do it again. Haha.
Shaun is punching above his weight class.
weight class- more like a different sport lol the boy has done well 🤣
Shaun is adorable and I don’t know if you’ve seen him with his shirt off….yeah man looks great.
@@EchanteDante Sorry, it was clearly a joke 🤣 they are a fine looking couple
You mean he's out of her league?
@@carlossaraiva8213 yes. That's what the saying means.
You might have recognized the actress who played Ma Fratelli from the movie Throw Mama from the Train, it was basically the only movie where actress Anne Ramsey had a starring role
Hattie do you watch their reactions when you've seen the movie before? Thanks for reacting to one for us, hope you had fun 👍 guess Lethal Weapon is y'all next one together! 🍿
Yeah, they should definitely go through all the Lethal Weapons!
Yeah I always watch their reactions to support them ☺️
Welcome Hattie, great addition to my favourite UA-cam channel
@@HarrietteVessey awesome! 🍿
I’m glad it was the eye that gave him the name too, otherwise there’s be a giant mummified eggplant sticking up in the rubies 😂😂😂
I had to do a double take. I was like this dynamic should be interesting. It was definitely less mechanical. So is this a test run?
you can not call you're girlfriend a weirdo if you have not seen Lethal Weapon 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Lethal Weapon is bad.

Another great ore Shaun.!! Plus ur lady is awesome and definitely rocked it and was a complete natural for the camera!! Good Shit!!
( Ps you can honestly see the genuine good vibes and feelings yous have for one another.. Treat her like a Queen Bro)
Lastly.. You , the Misses and Tommy Boy need to do a Trios reaction to the movie Once Bitten. It’s Jim Carrey’s first starring role and one of his first movies ever. He’s in his early 20s. It’s a horror comedy. It’s a hysterical, Super fun film thats an easy watch and greatly paced. You guys will definitely like it. That’s it. Later guys
Aww, that was nice. It was fun having your girlfriend Hattie with us watching movies. What kinds of movies does she like to watch and is she good with scary movies?
I want to know that too! Shaun you have to tell us what genres she likes so we can recommend some bangers :D
Aww thank you! I will watch any movie and 100% love horrors! Any suggestions to what you’d like to see us watch let us know ☺️
@@HarrietteVessey 😁 Have you watched any of these: Matilda, Old, A Quiet Place 1 and 2, Captain Phillips, Room (not THE Room), I See You, Primal Fear, Cape Fear, Black Swan, Atonement?
Also Shaun I'm so sorry - I JUST realised why my previous comment got deleted. I'm a dumbass and I apologise. This is why I shouldn't comment while sleepy.
Your girlfriend is lovely.
I like her.
Lucky fella!
Love this movie, one of my childhood favs. Love the scene when Mikey speaks with One-Eyed Willie 😎
Tom got a makeover
She looks EXACTLY like Sloth!!
(I like her..)
Bring her back, I want to hang out with you guys again.
One of my all time favorite movies!!🙌🏽
"He went a bit weird" is one way to describe it, I guess. It's a dark story of the way the entertainment industry was and still is.
Corey Feldman and Corey Haim, acclaimed child stars of the 80s, were horribly abused by people within the industry. Like, sexually abused. It had an effect on them both - drugs, wild behaviour, etc. Corey Haim sadly died in 2010 after a long struggle with mental health and addiction. Corey Feldman hasn't been the same since he died. The two boys spoke out and named their abusers, but nothing came of it and that was pretty much the end of their mainstream careers. Some of their fellow child actors backed up their claims, some didn't.
They were ignored because they're male, so nobody cared.
@@platinumspider7859 In part true, but this was also several decades before MeToo and they were ignoring men and women, boys and girls pretty indiscriminately.
@@kellyjo91867
Corey Ian Haim
Born: Dec 23, 1971
Died: March 10, 2010 (Age 38)
I was talking about Corey Haim. Corey Haim is dead, and Corey Feldman has never been the same since. Read the comment more closely before replying.
Did you seriously read that sentence and think I was saying "Corey Feldman hasn't been the same since Corey Feldman died"? How does that even make sense?
Ugh ❤ total classic !! One of those unique and special 80s movies
I was 21 years old and a movie usher when The Goonies came out. Seen it so many times I could probably do all the dialog. ( you’re probably thinking right now what’s an “usher” 😂 n those days, theaters did not have strip lights on the aisle floors, so ushers had to escort late movie goers to their seat aiming a flashlight 🔦 down to floor so they could see .
Wow I just watched this movie with my girlfriend the other day!
i can never get tired of this movie. such a fun and well made adventure
This is my all time freakin favorite movie. HEY YOU GUYS!!!!!!😂😂. The movie “The Burbs”, also has Corey Feldman (Mouth lol), Tom Hanks, a couple other people I can’t think of their names lol. But it’s also an 80’s movie, more late 80’s tho. It’s funny and kinda goofy action-ish lol. Once you watch it, it’ll make perfect sense. Honest. Peace out peeps
Favourite of me and my girlfriend for years now.
Goonies is an absolute classic! A major part of my childhood, check this out, I remember seeing it at the drive in with my family as part of a double feature along with E.T., what memories. And may I say welcome Hattie, you're absolutely lovely and I look forward to watching more of your movie reactions. Good on you Shaun, she seems wonderful. All the best to you two!
All time fav. Your lady is fit, her laugh is adorbs. Someone is definitely punching above his weight,so good on you
She's wonderful and a keeper. Looking forward to see more of her on here.
Actually it came out in the DVD commentary that the kids sneaked a peek at the pirate ship before the scene was shot. Of course, they didn't admit that at the time to Richard Donner and had to fake real reactions.
Are you guys planning on watching the resting the Friday the 13th films and scream 6?
One of my favorite movies of all-time. Thanks for posting this movie on the channel!
It is my number 1 Movie of all time. I went to the Movie theatre on my Birthday 3 times in a row. I was 12 at that time. I am 50 now and it is still my Favoirit movie. Ich have a big Goonies Collection. Figures with original signed.
The old lady is Anne Ramsey. Also in Throw Momma From The Train which you should watch and Deadly Friend, a wonderfully bad horror movie you should see where she is in a classically insane scene.
Unfortunately during the original boat reveal Brolen said “holy shit” so they couldn’t use the take lol
Shaun your girlfriend is lovely!! I hope we'll get to see experience more movies for the first time.
Actor who played the older brother grew into…THANOS! Cheers
Well done Shaun… well done mate.
Hope she comes back some other movie!
Goonies is an all-time favorite for me. It released at a time where I was about the same age as the kids in the film, so watching it felt like I was joining them on the adventure. Living in a small town, my friends and I were "Goonies". I even had my bedroom door tied to a line I could use to close it from my bed and desk (my dog was able to push her way in the room, because the door latch wasn't great, and I got tired of having to get up from doing homework/reading/etc).
(Edit) - Also... 10/10 for Hattie. A fun reaction, with good commenting.
Damn Tom looks different has he done something different with his hair 😂
Josh Brolin had to reshoot his reaction to the ship because he turned around and yelled "Holy Shit!".🤣🤣🤣
For another great comedy with Anna Ramsey (and also Danny Devito and Billy Crystal) check out "Throw Mama From the Train" inspired by Hitchcock's "Stranger on a Train."
I like Tom’s new hairstyle
Is it just me or has Tom's hair and voice changed?
She now goes by Thomasina.
Dear Hattie,
Watching your reaction to this timeless classic was a joy. Now, please, command your boyfriend to bow before you and kiss your feet for the Sloth comment.
Yes, im more than sure that he was just teasing, but still, how rude.
Hope to see you again!

P.S. love your name❤
You guys are such a good couple. Sorry I thought she was your sister Shaun! 😂
They are brother and sister
Love this film, You gotta bring her on more on the channel!
Awww cute, I’ve never actually seen someone named Harriet or even with the nickname Hattie before! Besides like old timey movies, love it.
Harriet...sweet Harriet. You hard hearted harbinger of hagis.
Ainsley Harriet and Harriet Harman.
Those are the only two I know.😂

I have heard of Harriet Tubman though.
Wasn't it civil rights or some such?
@@TheRetroManRandySavage oh man, not civil rights, slavery! Definitely look her up! She freed so many slaves and risked being taken back into slavery so many times.
