  • CAR Market update with growing inventory for all car brands! If you've been watching Car Prices for a while, the pandemic raised car prices by dropping car inventory levels. Now, the car market has lots of inventory available, and rebates and incentives, especially at Ford, Dogde, Ram, Chrysler, Chevrolet. A CAR DEALER WANTS TO:
    1. SELL every car for the Highest Possible Price.
    2. CONVINCE Car Buyers to use Dealer affiliated Lenders / Banks.
    3. LOAD every Car Deal full of Fees and Finance Products.
    4. OFFER Lowball numbers on every Trade Vehicle.
THE HOMEWORK GUY TEAM (THG) HELPS CAR BUYERS TO:
    1. BUY a Car from Dealers or Private Party Sellers at the Lowest Price.
    2. PAY Cash or Finance with their own Bank or Credit Union.
    3. DECLINE Dealer Fees and Finance Products.
    4. TRADE / SELL their current vehicle for the Best Value.
For more than 40 years, dealerships have EARNED their lowly reputation by being the masters of predatory selling. Dealers stalk victims relentlessly, often ruthlessly treating the most vulnerable car buyers (like seniors, for example) with little or no conscience. Car Dealers and their Finance Officers have no problem creating financial devastation for their customers with over bloated car loans, and quite often do. We point out the traps and the flaws of the process, and help car buyers get by all the nonsense without being ripped off. We promote fairness, honesty, and transparency, and we’d love to see a few dealers join our mission!
The Homework Guy Team provides car buying consumers with information, automotive news and updates, industry outlook, buying and selling advice, and other help to level the tables. The public face of THG is Kevin Hunter and the master negotiator, Amazing Elizabeth. Tons of time and research goes into every show, with several projects always on the table, all with the goal of getting it exactly right. From Automotive News Updates to vehicle shopping advice and assistance, The Homework Guy Team is the best there is.
As the automotive landscape continues to evolve, U.S. auto sales have shown mixed results. Forecasts for U.S. light-vehicle sales in March range from a 4.7% to a robust 12% increase, showing a very hopeful rebound from the pandemic and chip shortages. This upward trend is supported by high retail demand and fleet shipments, though a competitive market as inventories recover might temper the growth pace, This is especially noticeable at Toyota and Honda.
The average incentive per vehicle jumped 67% to $2,800. Some standout offers include hefty discounts from Ram and GMC, with up to $7,500 off certain large pickups. At the same time, the average price of new vehicles has slipped to $44,186, a drop that underscores slow movement toward increasing affordability for consumers.
Here’s a look at current industry Day’s supply by each automaker. If you didn’t know, days supply means how long it would take to sell all the cars on the lot based on the last 30 days of sales.
Toyota has taken a nice jump from the mid 30’s to now a 43 Days Supply, having 261,000 units for sale,
Honda is about 59 days, up from the 44 days we reported not long ago, with 176,000 vehicles for sale.
Lexus, which is the Cadillac line for Toyota, with much cushier rides and features, has a days supply of 61 days. If you really love toyota but having trouble getting what you want. Think about upgrading to a little bit nicer ride, and test drive a Lexus!
Our viewers are having mixed feelings on Kia. Their days supply is at 69 with 109,000 vehicles, but of all the ‘bad dealer reports’ we get, Kia seems to be among the worst.

I had a good Kia dealer experience this past Friday, but I didn't walk in blind. I emailed every Kia dealer within a 50-mile radius for their most aggressive OTD price on an EV6 Wind AWD. The winner sold me one for $43000, and it already had paint sealant, door film protection, and window tint.

A lot of the high inventory is because almost nobody wants to buy trucks and SUV’s with 4-cylinder turbo engines and CVT transmissions that won’t last even 100,000 miles without expensive repairs.

I think I actually trust the CVTs more than the turbo engines at this point! We have a 2011 car with a CVT (Mitsubishi) that we maintain religiously. So far, so good.

Mazda CX-5’s are made in Japan and still use naturally aspirated engines. That’s likely what I’m purchasing this year

Bought my CX-5 Preferred last month, well below MSRP. Had 15 dealers pleading for my business.

CX-5 also has a Normal transmission, rather than those stupid friction-based CVTs (Hybrid CVTs excluded).
Japanese Yen is really weak at the moment, so Mazda (really Matsuda) and Subaru may be more negotiable than other Japanese brands.

Even better, they currently don't have the awful automatic start/stop or cylinder deactivation due to chip shortage!!! That's what I'll be looking for late this year.

@@catsspat - have always said Matsuda in the half-Japanese house where I grew up. Yeah, agree with you on Mazda and Subaru. Almost went with a Crosstrek, but a bit too small for me. Got a better deal on the CX-5.

One critical thing to factor in when purchasing or leasing a Hyundai or Kia is the cost of insurance. This might be regional, but due to the issues that they had with vehicle thefts, insurance premiums may be exorbitant or not even available in some cases, depending on the insurance company. While that issue has largely been solved, the damages have been done. Also, if one wants a Tesla or another fully electric vehicle, be prepared for a higher insurance premium; oftentimes, a seemingly minor fender-bender results in the vehicle being declared a total loss due to the battery and other sophisticated electronics being so costly to repair or replace.

So after hearing Dodge is loaded I went to see prices on a RAM truck. Mistake 😂. Average price more expensive than my first home at $60K. Even with $11K discount it's highway robbery. They can sit on them

Is it Lincoln with 159 days? That sure looks like a Cadillac on the video. Perhaps somebody didn't do their homework before editing the video. 😂🤪

Not really on Toyota. If you go through their Smart Path system and put a deposit on the vehicle right away then they will hold it for you. That’s what I did with my Corolla.

    • @Steve_in_NJ
      @Steve_in_NJ 2 місяці тому +1

Yes, but for someone like me who's never owned a Toyota, I'd prefer to test drive one first before locking in on a deposit.

    • @googleusergp

I never test drove my Corolla and never owned one before. I just priced my car yesterday and it would be higher than I paid. Plus you can always get your deposit back. Use a credit card.

Long time subscriber, I like the free giveaways you guys are doing. Nice way to give back to your subscribers. Small piece of feedback, that beeping sound you guys put in this video I'm not a fan of. I figure it was probably put in to be a bit more catchy and drive points home but it was annoying. Still waiting on truck prices to fall more before I jump on one.

Sadly, or fortunately, none of the high inventory vehicles tickle my piano keys!!! I wanted to test drive a Toyota HEV, and none are available as ALL are pre-sold before being manufactured. So I am ditching Toyota and going back to Hyundai/KIA. I have a test drive scheduled this upcoming week for a 2024 KIA Niro PHEV SX Touring, and depending on how that goes, I either will get a KIA or another Hyundai (lease #5) this summer!!!!!!!

That's the dealers problem. The dealer should have waited and asked you. Tied Selling, which that is, is illegal.
