Most players don't play those bits because they aren't guitar pieces. Lots of the parts he's playing are sax, piano and clarinet segments. From 0:40 to 1:03, for example, there is no guitar part at all in the original. Nice cover though don't get me wrong, that isn't a complaint.
I can't think of a better tribute to the unique and innovative playing of Frank Zappa than this beautiful cover. Lovely to watch and listen to. Thanks man!
fantastic!! this is maybe my favourite zappa composition and you make it look effortless which is the hardest job of all. seconding the suggestion of soloing over Watermelon :)
one of the best cover i ve ever seen and also one of the best song.i m really grateful that i can learn this amazing song from your video, sorry for my english.
I can't believe there's still only 1 tab of this song online and it's wayyy different from this one, the actual one. I mainly need help on the fast bit at 1:31.
Awesome cover Martin. You have all the accents down and it sounds sweet. Do you have a link to the tab? Your version is a little different then the ones I've been trying. Especially the bit at 1:30. I do the first bar the same but from B-flat onward. Yours is a lot better. I wish I could make out your finger placement in the video. :D
Thanks! I learned the notes from Dweezil Zappa's live versions, but I ended up using my own fingerings (which requiere string skipping and more stretching so they may be harder for some but easier for me in this case). Try slowing the speed and be patient, it will really make you a better player figuring it out like that :)
Nice one. I've never heard such a bluesy version of it before. It's usually much more staccato, but you had a really fat tone and kept bending those strings throughout. Nice guitar, too. Very Hendrix.
That was just. Wow. Respect. You should be proud, you played the hard parts too. Like a bosssss. Word has it zappa's music was famously difficult for session musicians he would bring in, they had a hard time with his stuff. And session musicians are often better players than the recording artists. Not always of course, but yeah as a breed they're much more experienced. You made it look like you probably didn't even have that hard of a time learning it. I need time and patience to learn something like this, I have to really want it. I know that there are even more complex songs out there, but I always considered this song one of the Crown Jewels. Classical music. Just weird messed up strange classical music. I should try to learn this sometime. Would be a fun and frustrating project. Definitely a good way to pick up licks.
Thanks for your comment! Actually it took me a long time to get it right, at the time it was the hardest thing I've played. But as you said, I REALLY wanted to learn it, especially the hard parts which blew my mind the first time I heard them. It's definetely my favourite Zappa's song. Hope you'll take the time and put the effort into it, it's worth it :)

~ This has sort of a Latino vibe ; maybe the guitar tone? My hat's off for the the whole thing, _especially_ the two "impossible" sections; those weren't written for guitar, but this video puts that idea to the test.
Wow!
clean. respect
Really nice, especially since you played the hard parts too, which most players don't. Very cool
thanks!!

Hi! Fantastic rendition of a fantastic piece! I was wondering, any chance you could send me the backing track that you used?
What color and model is the guitar? is it Cream ???

Man I wish I had the tab for this version..
You can learn by ear, fast parts can be slowed down. Very useful for becoming a better musician!
@@matasrudzikas7389 is still hard
1:30 to 1:38 is definitely the hardest part
=(

Thanks
bruh can someone tab the run at 1:41
never mind its was kinda easy to work out lmao
Curious why you move down the neck and not down the fretboard during the intro. Just starting to learn some theory and any insight is appreciated.
ficou bom vei
Do you happen to have the backing track audio file?
Yeah
