Fantastic update! I bought the Kontact version a couple of years ago after seeing a YT demo, but never used it after the first few days. (trapped inside Kontakt with a fixed sized interface) It looks like there are quite a few enhancements in this release, including a resizable UI. I am sure I will use it a lot and am looking foreward to adding some of my own samples. Thank you for making this free to previoius owners. I feel like I now have what I expected to have - in fact more. Good work Wave Alchemy!
Really glad I found out about this plugin. One of the coolest plugins I've used in a while. Glad someone took some inspo from the old plugin GEIST that was abandoned !
I bought it and I'm blown away. This plugin is amazing. Maybe its not what the acustic and "it doesn't sound like a real drum kit"-guys are looking for, but I love it. The cinematic presets are great. Most presets are really usable just out of the box without any further tweaking, but tweaking them to your own taste makes the fun of that thing. You can play around with all the possibilities for days. Great Job!

Absolutely loving the new standalone version guys - big congratulations (and thanks so much for the update). I'm currently running a 2015 macbook and the CPU load on the Kontakt version was a little too much for it to handle - but so far had zero issues with the standalone - which is really impressive for such a powerful plug in. Can't wait for the updates too - intelligent sequence randomization will be the icing on the cake!! Top stuff - you guys nailed it!
I already have their reverbs, which are beautiful and been eyeing this up. Demoing it and having heaps of fun. The UI is great and it sounds just amazing!
I keep having problems where I have to constantly re-arm the track if I change audio interface. Also, the initial beat is often silent at the start of a project.@@wave-alchemy
This seems pretty good! May try it out. Only thing I would like to see in the future if you guys can give the option to render a full audio WAV or stems WAVS so you won't have to do each drum track one by one
Hi, You can already do this in Triaz. When Multi Out mode is being used in Triaz and each of its outputs are routed to separate channels in your DAW, exporting audio will render and export all 16 unmastered stems at once. We will be adding a separate button for this too in an update, as well as easy one shot export.
I think the sonic editing capabilities encourage you to use melodic/pad content with your plain vanilla drum sounds. Triaz is probably one of the most powerful sequencing tools we have right now i.e. it's a LOT more than just another Drum/Percussion VST
Seems cool for those who are using a DAW that doesn't provide a good quality built-in drum sampling functionality and sample morphing (I am using Ableton so I might skip this one out). Some features from the video I could see come in handy though: layer stacking allowing for multiple types and morphing between the samples. Also separate stems feature for drum libraries are always a plus. Nice product overall! If you do work on an algorithmic spring reverb in the future, do let me know.
Just bought this last night, and I ALMOST love it. I''m having problems when dragging my user samples. Yes, I can drag and drop them... but when it comes to putting them into the user folders, it doesn't detect any of the sounds. If I can figure this out, I'm sure I'll love it. Any help would be highly appreciated.
Please make sure you are opening the Sound Browser page and not the Preset Browser page. And then when on the Sound Browser page, hit the 'refresh' icon next to the search bar. This will then definitely work :)
Amazing update. It even has two feature requests i made, and a lotttttt more. This is really the software I hoped it was in the beginning but using it with kontakt made me not use it as much. Now, its a different animal.
@@wave-alchemy will there be a reverse button added for the convolution reverb in the future like the convolution pro one on max4live unless I missed it And another good idea would be a loop function for the wave forms and if you were going to do that you might want to extend the filter to have individual filters for A,B.andC But loving the software great work peace ✌️
@@dzaxys4643 We already have individual filters for A, B, and C 👍 Go to the 3 layer tabs at the top left of the Sound Page, and turn off the 'Link' icon. Now each of the 3 layers has it;s own unique set of sound design controls. - envelopes, filters, slop, LFOs, etc. Well look at the reverse IR for the convolution engine - that would be an easy feature to add. Not sure how we'd implement the loop feature we can explore it!
Would be great to be able to point to any user sample folder, really dont feel the need to move all my samples into wherever Trialz wants. My one complaint. Other than that its great.
This is a very good plugin. I like the sound and how flexible patterns and sound diversity can be created. But it’s very frustrating that there is no full support for Own Kits and drum change patterns. I cannot change and combine them. Each kit has to be made manually, which takes time. Feel free to ask if you need any adjustments!
Hey Guys! Is there any way to randomize or round robin the XY Pad when triggering a sound via midi? Im interested in doing it freely without the Sequencer Automation and instead do it whenever I press a key that it randomly goes throughout the XY Pad.
Hey! Not currently but this is something we'd like to add to the 'Slop' menu popup. Essentially that would allow you to set the random intensity of the XY pad position or something like that so it moves slightly / or a lot on each hit depending on how you set it:)

Yes, you can record your own MIDI patterns into the sequencer. I would do this as follows: 1. Right-click the record button in Triaz, and enable the 'Start recording on note input' option. 2. Arm Triaz for recording by clicking the record button 3. Play the MIDI you want to import from your DAW into Triaz.
If it had control of the percentage amount of randomization (sequencer all, each channel, sounds), I would look at this closer. Pretty much have this already. Nice though, nice job guys. 👍
Thank you VERY much for the tutorial of the new Triaz. I purchased Triaz a while back and never used it because of having to be in Kontact and it was really difficult to understand. Now, the VST is awesome! The only thing that I would like to add to this is how to add the individual sounds to the DAW after the drum kit MIDI export. I am using Ableton and maybe just too new to know how to get all the custom sounds out of Triaz into the MIDI track (sampler?).
We have a one-shot drum export button coming in an update. You can also access the entire Triaz sample collection (in. wav format) n your computer at the following location: Triaz / Triaz Expansions / Triaz Core 01 :)
@@wave-alchemy thanks for the reply. I will wait until the next update then. With 1000's of sounds, it is too time consuming to weed through another folder. You may want to check out Atlas 2 for export options. It's very easy to drag each sound over after midi export on same track.
Triaz is a native VST / AU / AAX plugin. But currently it must be used in a DAW, and doesn;t have a standalone version. But we can certainly look at this in the future :)
Please tell me each lane can send/output a MIDI note and that I can use this purely as a MIDI sequencer. Yes? No? 🙏 Also, consider an option to ping pong loop (play midi notes forward as normal followed by backward, repeat) any section within a lane in an update, just for fun and unexpected results. 😉

Great upgrade guys, but please give us more control over start position Sometimes you want only the middle or end sections of samples that have multiple transients or just the end of longer sounds, pleeeeease ❤
Perhaps I missed this feature when I demoed Triaz, but it could really use a button to flip the phase of a sample. When layering kicks I ran into phase cancelation in a lot of instances, which was a bummer.
I've just bought that DCSnares and tried to load it on the Akai 2, it dont even work. I saw Triaz mentioned in the dcsnare comments, checked it out...now im an official 100% Triaz turncoat 😂😂. Looks like the best bit of drum producing kit EVER.
What would be cool is if you could pull in patterns from other presets. So you can mix and match presents. A kick pattern from one preset and hat pattern from another. That’d also help with patterns you make all the time, a 4/4 kick pattern. Just drag it in

i love mine but somehow the multioutput is not working here. i tried a lot but not successful. also your layout looks different then mine and i dont have under settings the „multioutput“ enable button. what can i do?
The 'Multi Out' button (which turns Multi Out On / Off), is definitely located in the 'Wrench / Spanner' icon menu at the very top of the interface. You need to turn this on (Enabled), and then go to the mappings / routings page from the same menu and click the 'manage' button and then choose 'Route audio to consecutive outputs'. This will now work, assuming you have set up Multi Out routing in your DAW to receive these channels from Triaz :)
I have the demo version and when I export to audio, the audio track is blank. Is that because I'm on a demo? Also, for my user samples, I have one folder with many folders inside of that. When I put my samples into the user folder, it shows up in the browser, but the folders are blank. Do I need to have all of the wav files in the root of the user library? If so, that would take forever and I wouldn't be interested.
Guys, can I import open hi-hat and closed hi-hat and when I play/trigger closed one the open hi-hat stops. So I can simulate open-closed live hi-hat playing ??????????? PS. this feature exist in Steinberg Groove Agent
Yes, above the sample start / drive knobs within the center section of Triaz's Sound Page, there is a menu for Choke Groups. Add the closed and open hat to the same Choke Group, i.e 'Choke A', and this will do what you have requested.
Its a great update -THANKS WA TEAM........but putting user samples in the user samples folder is not working for me. It shows the folder name but says 'no samples available' where the samples should be. I have refreshed and tried various folder structures but it isn't working.
Yes, if you set up multi out mode in Triaz, rendering audio will then automatically export all 12 tracks at once as separate tracks. This feature will be added as a button on the export page too in a free update we are releasing in a couple of weeks :)

a real excellent video! helped a lot to understand this beast. One question I have for you: when I open the plugin in my DAW (Studio One Pro) I see 16 separat output channels are available but in the plugin itself I see under OUTPUT only "MAIN" and "1" to choose from. Can you demonstrate how to multi-out the plugin?
Go to the Settings / Wrench menu at the top of the plugin. Enable the 'multi out' button. Now go to the 'Mapping and Routing' page from the same menu and you can select any output for each drum :)
I found about about this plugin from a forum and had to post after trying the demo. This thing kills XLN XO and the other drum stuff I have. Wow. Will you add Midi out in the future please?
XO has one specific feature missing on Triaz and this feature is a must for me: the "samples cloud" view with the main frequency and length as axes which is brilliant when we have thousands of one-shot samples... Can it be added as an update @wave-alchemy ?
@@VEsound It is open source / free to use software that XO and Atlas both used, as far as I can tell , so it would probably be very easy to add - experiments.withgoogle.com/ai/drum-machine/view/ But we'd rather come up with our own solution and we also don't want to turn Triaz primarily into a sample management system. I personally find this way of browsing sounds non intuitive and random, but we're going to work on our own solution for an update as mentioned elsewhere on here and the forums we are active on :)
Would be helpful to have the User Samples folder accept shortcuts. Otherwise, I have to have multiple copies of the same sample folders, one for the Triaz User Sample folder and my other that I have in my default sample folder.
Is it planned to add the possibility of dividing the sequence of each of the 12 instruments/tracks into the 3 (max) sounds of each instrument/track? It would be pure madness to manage the 3 sounds of an instrument/track on its sequencer side as well...
It’s fantastic but why is it that pre-saved patterns aren’t a thing? It would be great to quickly change patterns for inspiration. The randomizer is too…random for this
Preset Patterns aren't a thing because Triaz's channels are fully modular in that any channel can load any sound. So, say you created your own kit with different drums on different channels- then loaded a sequencer preset where the channel / drum layout or sound types are different, it would now sound wrong. The sequencer randomizer is going to be vastly improved in an update to make it 'smart', and in our next update coming very soon we also have the ability to Lock kits, meaning you can lock a kit (or your own kit) and then browse presets and load patterns from those :)
This interface is really smart and fun, but the fact that it is a separate tool, which I would then need to export audio/media and drop into the DAW, makes it not an option for me. I just prefer to stay inside Nuendo’s “Drum Editor” and use your samples.
Then buy XO. Where is your problem? Nobody forces you to buy anything. And by the way, you can import your samples and work only with your own stuff. The only disadvantage ist, that you have to copy them into a specific folder.
You can import your own samples into Triaz in several ways and have them also show up in the browser. I also don't feel our packs are 'crappy' if I must say so myself :) We have tens of thousands of professionals using our samples and provide the sample content for many large companies who you are likely already using. We do plan to improve the sample sorting / bulk import further though and we're working on that!
Really good plugin, not particularly happy with the exporting, would have been nice to have an option to export all the many different channels or all the audio to different channels instead of doing one by one

Hi, yes, of course. Directly above the 'render audio' button are buttons to enable / disable the 12 drum channels for export Triaz (Kick, snare etc). Left click to solo channels for export, right click to mute certain channels from export. You can CTRL+Click to solo multiple drums for export, and more. You can do whatever combination you ant using this system - export Individual channels, the entire mix, or a custom selection of channels. In addition, when it 'multi out' mode in Triaz, rendering audio with all channels active will render all 12 individual channels at once and dragging from the render area will give you 12 stems at once.
@@wave-alchemy The reason why XO has been my main drum machine was the feature to export all individual channels at once, drop em in Ableton and then boom. When I first got XO, it turned me into an unstoppable mode of making tracks, making me wrap client's projects in a blink. I have to say that this Triaz has some really lovely features and I'll try the demo. The export stems is for me an essential in modern beat creation.

Yes, we have triplets in Triaz. The following sequencer lane rates are triplets: 1/3, 1/6, 1/12, 1/24 / 1/48 These are located on the sequencer page on each lane to the left.
Not yet, in V.1.0. It should be easy enough to add though if we get enough requests for it. It wasn't a priority for us for V1, but we have a lot of ideas / plans for future features :) Stay tuned!

I am using Ableton and maybe just too new to know how to get all the custom sounds out of Triaz into the MIDI track (sampler?).
We have a one-shot drum export button coming in an update. You can also access the entire Triaz sample collection (in. wav format) n your computer at the following location: Triaz / Triaz Expansions / Triaz Core 01 :)
@@wave-alchemy thanks for the reply. I will wait until the next update then. With 1000's of sounds, it is too time consuming to weed through another folder.
You may want to check out Atlas 2 for export options. It's very easy to drag each sound over after midi export on same track.
Is it standalone?? Maybe I didn't read it in the new features section on the website.
Triaz is a native VST / AU / AAX plugin. But currently it must be used in a DAW, and doesn;t have a standalone version. But we can certainly look at this in the future :)

Also, consider an option to ping pong loop (play midi notes forward as normal followed by backward, repeat) any section within a lane in an update, just for fun and unexpected results. 😉

Great upgrade guys, but please give us more control over start position Sometimes you want only the middle or end sections of samples that have multiple transients or just the end of longer sounds, pleeeeease ❤

Perhaps I missed this feature when I demoed Triaz, but it could really use a button to flip the phase of a sample. When layering kicks I ran into phase cancelation in a lot of instances, which was a bummer.
Hi, in the latest version of Triaz there is a phase invert button on each layer of every channel :)
I've just bought that DCSnares and tried to load it on the Akai 2, it dont even work. I saw Triaz mentioned in the dcsnare comments, checked it out...now im an official 100% Triaz turncoat 😂😂. Looks like the best bit of drum producing kit EVER.

What would be cool is if you could pull in patterns from other presets. So you can mix and match presents. A kick pattern from one preset and hat pattern from another. That’d also help with patterns you make all the time, a 4/4 kick pattern. Just drag it in

The 'Multi Out' button (which turns Multi Out On / Off), is definitely located in the 'Wrench / Spanner' icon menu at the very top of the interface. You need to turn this on (Enabled), and then go to the mappings / routings page from the same menu and click the 'manage' button and then choose 'Route audio to consecutive outputs'. This will now work, assuming you have set up Multi Out routing in your DAW to receive these channels from Triaz :)

I have the demo version and when I export to audio, the audio track is blank. Is that because I'm on a demo? Also, for my user samples, I have one folder with many folders inside of that. When I put my samples into the user folder, it shows up in the browser, but the folders are blank. Do I need to have all of the wav files in the root of the user library? If so, that would take forever and I wouldn't be interested.
Guys, can I import open hi-hat and closed hi-hat and when I play/trigger closed one the open hi-hat stops. So I can simulate open-closed live hi-hat playing ???????????

Yes, above the sample start / drive knobs within the center section of Triaz's Sound Page, there is a menu for Choke Groups. Add the closed and open hat to the same Choke Group, i.e 'Choke A', and this will do what you have requested.

A very comprehensive drum VST! One question: is there any way to copy a sequence pattern from one kit piece/ channel to another?
Its a great update -THANKS WA TEAM........but putting user samples in the user samples folder is not working for me. It shows the folder name but says 'no samples available' where the samples should be. I have refreshed and tried various folder structures but it isn't working.

Yes, if you set up multi out mode in Triaz, rendering audio will then automatically export all 12 tracks at once as separate tracks. This feature will be added as a button on the export page too in a free update we are releasing in a couple of weeks :)

a real excellent video! helped a lot to understand this beast. One question I have for you: when I open the plugin in my DAW (Studio One Pro) I see 16 separat output channels are available but in the plugin itself I see under OUTPUT only "MAIN" and "1" to choose from. Can you demonstrate how to multi-out the plugin?
Go to the Settings / Wrench menu at the top of the plugin. Enable the 'multi out' button. Now go to the 'Mapping and Routing' page from the same menu and you can select any output for each drum :)

I found about about this plugin from a forum and had to post after trying the demo. This thing kills XLN XO and the other drum stuff I have. Wow. Will you add Midi out in the future please?

XO has one specific feature missing on Triaz and this feature is a must for me: the "samples cloud" view with the main frequency and length as axes which is brilliant when we have thousands of one-shot samples... Can it be added as an update @wave-alchemy ?

But we'd rather come up with our own solution and we also don't want to turn Triaz primarily into a sample management system. I personally find this way of browsing sounds non intuitive and random, but we're going to work on our own solution for an update as mentioned elsewhere on here and the forums we are active on :)
Would be helpful to have the User Samples folder accept shortcuts. Otherwise, I have to have multiple copies of the same sample folders, one for the Triaz User Sample folder and my other that I have in my default sample folder.

Is it planned to add the possibility of dividing the sequence of each of the 12 instruments/tracks into the 3 (max) sounds of each instrument/track? It would be pure madness to manage the 3 sounds of an instrument/track on its sequencer side as well...
We haven't thought about that, but it does sound like fun, in the most crazy way :)
How do you export drum sounds you layered?
Press EXPORT. Then you can render and either drag and drop Audio or drag and drop Midi.
It’s fantastic but why is it that pre-saved patterns aren’t a thing? It would be great to quickly change patterns for inspiration. The randomizer is too…random for this
Preset Patterns aren't a thing because Triaz's channels are fully modular in that any channel can load any sound. So, say you created your own kit with different drums on different channels- then loaded a sequencer preset where the channel / drum layout or sound types are different, it would now sound wrong. The sequencer randomizer is going to be vastly improved in an update to make it 'smart', and in our next update coming very soon we also have the ability to Lock kits, meaning you can lock a kit (or your own kit) and then browse presets and load patterns from those :)

This interface is really smart and fun, but the fact that it is a separate tool, which I would then need to export audio/media and drop into the DAW, makes it not an option for me. I just prefer to stay inside Nuendo’s “Drum Editor” and use your samples.
and if i ONLY want to use my own samples? XO allows me to use only my samples. i don't need to be forced to buy crappy packs
Then buy XO. Where is your problem? Nobody forces you to buy anything. And by the way, you can import your samples and work only with your own stuff. The only disadvantage ist, that you have to copy them into a specific folder.
You can import your own samples into Triaz in several ways and have them also show up in the browser. I also don't feel our packs are 'crappy' if I must say so myself :) We have tens of thousands of professionals using our samples and provide the sample content for many large companies who you are likely already using.
We do plan to improve the sample sorting / bulk import further though and we're working on that!
Really good plugin, not particularly happy with the exporting, would have been nice to have an option to export all the many different channels or all the audio to different channels instead of doing one by one

No, it's not always post master. If using Triaz in 'multi out' mode and then exporting, it will export everything as stems pre-master
Can you export the audio per channel? It seems the export is the master only. That's a deal breaker for me.
Hi, yes, of course. Directly above the 'render audio' button are buttons to enable / disable the 12 drum channels for export Triaz (Kick, snare etc). Left click to solo channels for export, right click to mute certain channels from export. You can CTRL+Click to solo multiple drums for export, and more. You can do whatever combination you ant using this system - export Individual channels, the entire mix, or a custom selection of channels. In addition, when it 'multi out' mode in Triaz, rendering audio with all channels active will render all 12 individual channels at once and dragging from the render area will give you 12 stems at once.
@@wave-alchemy The reason why XO has been my main drum machine was the feature to export all individual channels at once, drop em in Ableton and then boom. When I first got XO, it turned me into an unstoppable mode of making tracks, making me wrap client's projects in a blink. I have to say that this Triaz has some really lovely features and I'll try the demo. The export stems is for me an essential in modern beat creation.

Is it possible to do triplets? That is my only issue with this. I have to use another drum machine just for triplets.
Yes, we have triplets in Triaz. The following sequencer lane rates are triplets:
1/3, 1/6, 1/12, 1/24 / 1/48
These are located on the sequencer page on each lane to the left.
Does it have midi out? I would like to use the sequencer with bitwig's drum machine too
Not yet, in V.1.0. It should be easy enough to add though if we get enough requests for it. It wasn't a priority for us for V1, but we have a lot of ideas / plans for future features :) Stay tuned!
