Okay so I did everything said up until I use my microphone icon to say yes.. then it went back to red. I started over from scratch mimicking what you did and still the red light came on
I know this reply is super late but it might help somebody else scanning the comments I had the same problem but I didn't say anything into my voice remote I only pressed the microphone icon on the remote and that got me to the next steps
If you reset the remote, then pair it, and all remote buttons EXCEPT the back button (back button still not working), use the mic button and tell it to “restart device”, then hit yes to confirm the restart. It will restart the entire box, after which the remote is usually back to normal/fully functional.
I don't know why but the #ZBvids method didn't work, maybe yours amd mine is the latest remote iteration since you posted this comment a few weeks ago.
I had to reset again a couple of days ago and had the worst time. I watched this other vid also (similar steps, but some extra later on. One thing I noticed that seemed to finally make it all work is that after performing the basic steps, I needed to have the remote VERY close to the box (like close enough to touch). Try new batteries and/or check the website steps. Also I guess you could use your phone and point the camera at the remote to make sure the remote is sending out a signal. Open the camera and you should see some purple lights anytime you press a button, if not remote is possibly broken.

If the batteries are fresh, try taking the batteries out, wait a moment, then put them back in and repeat the steps.

I do everything that’s suppose to be done. Says its pairing, then it says, it didn’t . What am I doing wrong?
Perhaps try fresh batteries? I think the steps changed once, so double check the support site for the steps.

Varies depending on the service you are using, but typically you just click the right arrow, or first the down arrow then the right arrow.
