- Our drugstore queen @Elf never disappoints. They decided to franchise their Power Grip line and have added their new Dewy Setting Spray. Y’all know I love my sprays, so let’s talk about it! So far, I’ve been loving how gentle the mist release is on this. It uses an atomizing spray mechanism, which delicately disperses its bi-phase formula (shake well!) into a fine mist so you’re not going to get that crunchy “hairspray” style feel that can be overwhelming in some face sprays. She has hydrating ingredients like aloe, hyaluronic acid, and squalane so for my beauty queens who want a dewy finish that lasts all day WITHOUT any stickiness or greasiness, this might be something you want to check out. I’ve been evaluating this over multiple different products but have also just worn it alone over my SPF to Pilates and have been really enjoying it. At a $10 price point, you really can’t go wrong with something like this. Have you played with this yet? I’m curious to know your thoughts 👀

One size setting spray works so well in GA’s heat and humidity; it’s the only setting spray that has ever worked for me.
It’s like hair spray. I can’t get used to it. I live in GA as well. May give it a second try. 🤷🏾♀️

They definitely nailed the mister on this one! I always use setting spray to kinda melt my makeup on., I’m 51, and waitress 12 hour shifts. This stuff keeps my face in place and really makes my makeup look flawless!
Is it dewy? I'm 41 and my skin is super dry. I can't put anything on my face if it isn't moisturizing or I'll end up looking like baked mud around my eyes. 😂
@@krisdiane towards the end of the video she calls it dewy and and aloe infused, so it does sound like it's pretty moisturizing! :)
@@krisdiane Sounds like we have the same type of skin, but I'm 14. Personally for me it is quite shiny or "dewy", but it doesn't really give it to me all day long. It DOES keep everything in place, wore it to my cheer meet and of course that stuff locked it down, but it wasn't really keeping the "dewy" stuff down 2 hours into my practice ( heavy training and flying in the air lol.)
AND OF COURSE ....Story of my life....I'm the exact opposite! I'm 54, (almost 55 😳😱) and I'm still oily. Even my damn eyelids get oily! Ridiculous! Soooo I was getting all excited about this...till I got to this thread..Glad it works for you but me & dewy... we just don't vibe together.... lol 🙄

I have Patrick & this one. The elf spray is crazy good but I need Patrick when I need long haul setting. Patrick kept me intact through hours of non stop dancing in 80° weather😮. The elf is a definite cop!

I just got this spray, and it's lovely 😍. The finish is so pretty, and it doesn't leave me oily looking like the MILK spray 😊
I wish the sticky elf primer and spray works for me but within minutes it separates my under eye concealer and makes me looks like I’ve been sweating in a marathon. Why does it do that? Is it because I have some oily skin sections?

@@latinbrownie667you also may be using too much product and in regards to application you really need to work it in to hydrated skin, so it’s not like creating a prominent layer between makeup and skin. Robert Welsh has a YT short or video on it
@@latinbrownie667 its probably because you have more oily skin? i have dry skin and it works great. if you do have oily skin, try using a silicone based primer rather than a water based primer

I like the crunchy skin setting spray 😭😭😭 it's very humid here in the Philippines. Most setting sprays won't work not unless it's "crunchy" 😝

I've never tried the aerosol setting sprays but I'm sure I won't like one. I prefer the slightly dewy ones, I've the one by Nyx.

The dewy look makes the surface shiny and pores look bigger. I need my face snatched back to my 30’s I need a grip to hold the sebum down in my pores like it’s yelling “HODOR!” I haven’t tried Patric star but I will now. Urban decay is as close as I’ve gotten so far.
I did theatre from 1999-2018 and back in the day, we used hairspray to set our stage makeup. It felt like shit 😂😂😂

I'm an oily girl too, and I love the OG Urban Decay All Nighter. I also think that Elf spray is made in China, which makes it an automatic no for me.

I loved it… but my skin absolutely hates squalane! Just a little heads up to anyone with acne prone skin that squalane clogs pores. I had to return it because I broke out so badly

Can you compare something like the urban decay all nighter with vitamin C versus something like the elf primer here? Meaning that they both give off like dewy finishes but I wonder which has the better hold and staying power

I've used that setting spray before.. it's really good.. but what are YOUR THOUGHTS ON using 🤔 Witch hazel as a before and after applying makeup 💄 🤔 😅..I put it in a spray bottle 🎉❤

which Hazel is great for your skin if that’s working for you keep using it. It’s so much more cost-effective. Just make sure that you get the witch hazel that is in the first aid section next to the alcohol rather than the jacked up price that they use in the make up section, witch hazel is a great toner and prepares your skin through the moisture and keeps it hydrated. I learned all of that in aesthetic school so I do have a little bit of knowledge in this area so I’m a huge fan I’m actually going to try your tip put some in a bottle and put it on after my make up and see how it works. Great idea.

One/size setting spray is the best. What it did for me on my first and only application so far is unbelievable, definitely my one and only first holy grail product ✨ it helped with my Main problem when wearing makeup which is smile line creasing and I’ve been wearing makeup for YEARS. So girlllll don’t throw shade on one/size for elf 😭 I’ve been using elf products for years and not one of their setting sprays can beat one/size.
Elf setting spray is only good for melting your makeup together if that makes sense

i enjoy the feel of the spray, however i think that it is a little too "misty" if that makes any sense. in order to feel like my face is evenly coated with a decent amount, i have to use quite a bit of it and went through half the bottle in about 3.5 weeks

Anyone ever used the Ben Nye setting spray? I've NEVER tried anything like it. Used in highschool for all-day competitions on my oily sweaty skin. This was a bit over 10 years or so ago. Wonder if the formula has changed. Can anyone chime in? Or is it too old school now? But man nothing has ever ever held like that spray. I've tried so many.
