If you think your job is useless, just remember the SCP Foundation has an "Ethics Committee".
Depending on what canon you go with, the Ethics Committee is actually extremely powerful. Perhaps more than the O5. They have the final say on what is and is not acceptable. If you think what IS allowed is bad, consider what proposals they must reject purely for ethical reasons.
Bruh
I still dont know Who are they?
Aren't the Ethics Committee the only ones to decide what is too far for even the SCP Foundation, like if Ethics said O5 can't drink milk for whatever reason, they cant drink milk period. Not because of some grand power the Ethics has but more so when they say something you know you have to listen or become the evil the Foundation is supposed to contain.

Ufukcan Gencoglu, read this as that part was read
@@kannonball5789 To be fair, they aren't always wrong in why they do what they do, and sometimes the Foundation really is in the wrong to keep the more dangerous anomalies contained rather than trying to destroy them. The comb that makes you OCD, the Typo Miror, the marching band would probably welcome death at this point, and that's not even getting into ones that could just straight destroy the world if they got out. Heck, even they have their limits, given their continued attempts to terminate 682.
Of course, as the article notes, it's best to at least try to understand the thing you're trying to destroy, and why it needs to die, given the fact that for some anomalies just being alive is the least strange thing about them. This includes the psychic destroyer(I forget the SCP for it, but it's the bullet frozen in the air, they found it after GOC killed the thing, and a town's population got shrunken as a result), the chair that is now a dangerous pile of wood scraps. And that's not even getting into what the Vending Machine and Drink Machines might do if threatened. Just imagine the horrors 918 could probably pump out if it sensed itself being threatened(And yes, I think the thing is sentient)

The SCP foundation would make for a great tv series
Reiner Braun that would be amazing
Fack, I'd have it be animated, and exist as a Online series. The authors of each episode would tell the writers on how they envisioned the story to play out, and we'd adapt it based on that.
Dr. Bright would be the less-depressed, more crazy Rick Sanchez. He would spend his time blowing shit up, drawing SCP R34, and convincing people he finds attractive to kill him, in order to inherit their body.
Oh, and of course, comedy would still take a second stage to atmosphere and dread, it's necessary!
Who do you think would make a good Morty counterpart?
Lord Bung's Confinement is based off of the SCP universe
Yes and it also be about showing scps and stuff! And in the end the ultimate scp secret be revealed
That would be amazing but you'd have to get passionate directors, producers, and a good budget. Sadly that's very hard to come by, and in that combination as well.

So, in this alternate universe, the Foundation manages the feat of getting owned and then merging with other organizations and then GETTING EVEN MORE EVIL.
Thanks, SCP-1730, now the Foundation look like hippies by comparison.
The Foundation isn't evil. They are doing what they have to do (or what they believe they must do) to keep these entities and objects contained. "Protect" is in the name. They're protecting both the general public and the less dangerous SCPs (like that poor pile of wood that used to be a chair that would appear near anyone who needed to sit. *Listens to the description of Samsara*
"So they badasses...."
It's worth actually reading all the stories Samsara is involved in. They're basically gods. If I remember correctly, there's a being in the SCP universe that is essentially God himself, just with a different name, and he basically MADE the members of Samsara, with the SCP Foundation's help. So not only are they bad-ass cyborg ninjas, they have magical god powers and super regeneration as well. Oh, and if any of them die, as long as just a shred of them is recovered, they can be regrown. Sorta like Wolverine.
*Samsara Leader dies* Hey we found dust in this hole, what mig- Give me that
@@bugjams "sorta like Wolverine..." okay, that's all anyone needs, a fucking God-bud with near-complete ballistic amnesia...
*sigh* well, at least Dr. Bright doesn't really seem too specific with host compatibility, so whoever it is, rest of the team can Guinea pig them on relationships, and when it fails... just make sure they keep a few skin samples in a walk-in fridge... slash bank vault... built by someone excommunicated by the COBG... you know what, make that a team of excommunicates from all three factions. Hell, see if the latest edition of The Chronicle of the Daevas extends far enough to find a bloodline, get some of those war-ents to stand guard (and seriously, I get that canon isn't much of a thing, but why hasn't anyone involved with that angle thought of that already? Don't have to be fucking door guards for the Site...)... know what? Just see if they can arrange something with 2932-A.
Samsara is ninja cyborgs thought they were regular people with awesome abilities
@@bugjams So, they're the children of D. Strange and Wolverine, who've undergone the Cyborg treatment, after which they were trained by Deathstroke.
Oh yeah, and they're functionally immortal clones literally engineered by god himself...
... Welp, glad they're on the SCPF's side. o-o
This SCP is absurd in the most spectacular way.
An alternate reality SCP site with a sadistic director, a reality warping machine that goes awry, a blood leach child that fuses with mysterious radioactive SCP waste materials who is now capable of creating smaller leaches that turn people into blood zombies, an elite cyberneticaly enhanced immortal god-clone super-soldier commando team, visions of a hell dimension, a clown SCP just because, and an epic 3-way battle between a blazing Arch-Angel, a Nature God, and a giant incarnation of the blood-leach boy.
Oh and there are foundation survivors at the end of it all. That shit never happens.

That does bring up the question, would the imperium be able to subjugate the earth containing the scp foundation? Because on the one hand the imperium has almost limitless resources and incredible firepower but on the other hand the foundation has things like memetic agents and precognitives. Personally I don't think the wider imperium would ever learn about the planet existing, maybe an exploratory fleet finds the planet but I don't think it could escape considering the abilities the foundation and other gois have at their disposal. Imagine a squad of Terminator space marines teleporting into the middles of an mtf and one of them just plays a recording of that sound that makes fire come out of your nose and ears, not even the space marines could survive that for very long
@@roguepsykerhaaker4813 it depends the fundation could posibly deal with normal space matine chapter but the moment grey knights and sisters of silence come in they loose reality warping ar are dealing with guys literaly designed to deal with reality warpers it is not that crazzy that an squad of paladins and a grand master could kill almost any SCP
@@ppmi-qu1oo well that depends on how reality benders and warp manipulation interact, but even if we say that's the same it doesn't defend them from things like memetic hazards or time travel that the foundation has access to
@@roguepsykerhaaker4813 i mean memetics wont stop the grey knight since they would just discover them throught psycic recognision and good luck using time travel to stop the grey knights since not even them could tell you where they are from
@@ppmi-qu1oo aren't the gray knights bonded psychically? Wouldn't that mean that a memetic hazard against one would destroy the whole squad or am I being silly here? And not knowing where they came from isn't a problem as long as you know where they are and when you can just erase that spot from existance or nuke it
According to the file, the Gate Guardian will only activate when God orders the beginning of The Rapture, so they basically started the Apocalypse
I imagine this is a special case.
For one, it's a long way from it's intended post.
Secondly there's 2 other entities capable of destroying the world right infront of it. I doubt it'd just want to head back to the garden. (Be interesting to see what happens when it sees another of itself already there, though.)
They would have...had it remained in their reality. But Site 13 is gone and the god like beings with it.

@@generictimestamperstupendi9021 could the wetness be from the substance? this could work as an origin story for josie
I like the idea of some guy's legs just being out there in the Multiverse. Like one day someone is going to find a pair of legs that are fully functional walking around in some random anomaly and they won't even bat an eye. God I really like scps.
I also like the fact that this ties SCP - 529 into the story as he reports something wet and furry brushing past him, probably the lower half of the cat. (Scp - 529 is a fully functioning cat with half its body missing yet functioning as normal)
Poor josie
I reccomend looking at the description of the image taken of josie through that camera that takes photos of their desires
@@ijent3819 That one is great
@@ijent3819 its a cat ffs, why waste research funds to see the desire of a cat?
Ken M They used the desire camera, another scp that shows what a living thing wants at the time of the picture being taken. They ran a test run and the handler decided to take a pic of Josie the half cat. The picture came out showing Josie scratching her face with hind legs instead of her front legs which she was doing when the picture was taken.
Not seeing this anywhere else in the comments so I'll say it: It's worth mentioning that the "giant sea serpent" was presumably SCP-3000, which is the main cause of the timeline split. Having a corpse to haul off instead of another area to turn into on the spot containment meant prioritizing the plans for Site 13 and scrapping the ones for Site 17. Also, the whole "not getting a miracle amnestic compound off an eel god" thing _probably_ had something to do with the Foundation being in a major rough spot.
Thank you for bringing this up, I was scrolling through the comments for this.

The fact that neither Gate Guardian nor Deer God had left their chambers before the agents released them means that this alternate universe had managed to build boxes that could hold god-tier keters over long-term without need for any manual intervention. Say what you want about the practices of the alternate-foundation, the power they had at their disposal is impressive.
Exactly so. That's why the area was called the Olympian Class Containment. It's where they contain the gods. This is a world that figured out what to do with SCP-682 but due to the whole incident, the standard universe's Foundation will never learn how they did it
Because the GOC took over
At this point im betting that admonition is the reason for at lest a version of 1730 i.e para place is not sure if something is a good idea so during the events of 7243 during one of the times he was missing he went to a alt universe aka the 1730 universe and helped the goc to take over the foundation in order to see what new technology he could get for his plans after all cause of what hr has been doing his universe cant go into other universes but they didt ban traveling to other timelines
The box holding the gate guardian probably isn’t actually super strong, but it somehow tricks the guardian into thinking the gate to Eden is there, which is why he stays there, the deer probably stays since it thinks the box can hold it.

So no one though that putting a scp that absorb blood in a pit full of other scp's blood was a bad idea?
Surely, but the bureaucrats didn't care.
Problem is, if pointed out to the higher up, or even the people they got to deal with people that will not play by their rules (after all, the O5's are not idiots.) at best, they will get demoted to D-Class, at worst they will be subjected to a scp that will make their stay long and painful...
Eh well it takes a lot to convince the foundation to use anamalous objects to stop other anomalous objects, especally if they aren't nesscarily thamuel class scps. I'm sure they would have considered it if it proved enough of a threat and Didn't disapear
Problem is that most of the where at least mostly harmless, and if there where to authorize their destruction, it would have to be throatily cleaned up, and leaving several bodies of dead would be enough to really piss them off, by their very nature killing them may not stop their anomiles propitiates.
The issue is with the GOC influence in that universe. The place Site-13 came from featured a Foundation that was in a much weaker and less funded state than the GOC who are all about destroying anomalous objects and entities unless they can be used to better humanity, and sometimes even that won't stop them from trying to destroy things. The ethics committee plays a huge part in keeping people from making the kind of immoral decisions that lead to site-13, and with it being gimped and under the control of people that simply didn't care, well.
It boils down to this: Site-13 had a thing that could presumably destroy most anomalous entities, the Foundation was beholden to the world governments and the GOC, no thought was given to the dangers of putting an scp that absorbs blood into a pit of blood, because before that pit was full of blood it destroyed anomalies.

What happened to site 13?
Seems like a girl in HR was pissed that site administrator Emerson was experimenting and killing humanoid SCPs so she merged with a leech boy and became a monster. Meanwhile Emerson hid in the server room, got caught by a thousand arms idol performing Naruto hand signs and merged with that eventually becoming a future god of destruction.
So the SCP teleported it to another reality after realizing that containing this mess would cause more problems than it really needed to.
that even better summary but man this would make good movie
At which point the Foundation sent in a couple of MTFs and eventually one team comprised of cyborgs made from a dead god. These cyborgs united with the survivors and proceeded to use a giant flaming angel guarding the gate to eden and an alien deer god capable of manipulating matter, so that they can escape the place. The place then literally vanishes from existence.
Just another day at the Foundation universe.
How could Tau-5 get the gate guardian to leave his post? If he even is the one that is 'supposedly SCP-001'. Im aware that throwing lots of anomalous shenanigans into a pit is a really bad idea and then hoping it stay quiet is even worse and thats basically why they had to use the Thresher device due to a breach. So my question is what broke out? And what were the three beings?
@@MrAdamske the alternate universe foundation had contained the angel and they simply let it and the deer out of the cages.
+Filthy Peasant
It was more the Global Occult Force that managed to contain the angel and deer. They have a lot of methods to contain thinks that can actively unreality reality... most of which involve not understanding them as being human anymore.
The Foundation would not likely remove the angel from its post... as they know it would be helluva upset should it end up out of containment... and it causes a lot less problems just to leave the angel there and set up a station around it--essentially helping the angel out to some degree.
If the Foundation had a similar "into the wood chipper you go for insolence towards the laws of physics" policy as the GOC... they'd have managed to contain a lot more that they have. They've instead opted to have a policy of, "how much problems would leaving it right here actually cause us" in amongst their many other polices as an alternative to "time out in the wood chipper for being naughty" that they do still have should the need it.
in my eyes, SCP 1730 is an example of what happens when you mess with the anomolous without consideration for ethics, morality and how much you know about what could happen, but it's ALSO an example of just how dangerous the SCPs can be and what a full containment breach could mean if left to spiral out of control
1730 is why the GOC should never be in charge of anything. Well, 1730 and 1609 being rather poignant examples.

Gotta say. Loving the mixed battle between all three larger entities. The Gate Guardian, a Celestial entity sent from Heaven. The Stag, a godly being from another world entirely. And what is presumably Elijah, the leech boy what could easily be attributed to being almost like a demon or just some massive monster. In accordance to how it reacts to the world around it, it seems to only act on instinct. No sense of will or purpose other than to feed. It is a parasite god. A battle of gods to a sort. One that would probably end with Elijah dead and the other two duking it out until the end of time. Or with the stag on top perhaps?

This. This was the SCP that I fell in love with. That made me dive deep into all the universe lore. I spent an entire day reading the entry for 1730, and it was so damn riveting. I would kill to see a film made of the exploration logs for 1730. This is also how I got to be so interested in all of the different Mobile Task Forces and their specialties. Unsurprisingly, MTF Tau-5 is my favorite.
My favorite bit of dialogue from the debriefing: "But I knew the work I was doing was good, so I kept my head down and carried on. Then… well, (laughs) it sounds silly now. In 2010 we contained God. Not just any god, either. The Abrahamic God. The actual, thunder and lightning, Y-H-W-H, fire and brimstone god. I don’t know how they managed it; some technology developed by the Coalition, I’m sure. And that was just the first. They filled Site-13 to the brim with everything they could get their hands on"
I'm wondering if they ended up inviting Dr. Scott to work for this universe's Foundation. I bet it would have been a hell of a lot nicer than his old one.
For real, though. Who else thinks they should've tossed in MTF -Omega-7- Alpha-9? I bet Able would've *loooved* to throw down with some of those Olympia Class SCP's

It's almost guaranteed they would. He's effectively an anomaly, though not anomalous himself. Amnestics wouldn't change the fact that much of the history he knows is different from ours. So it's hiring him on as a Foundation scientist (which he already is, so far less training needed), or shove him in with the D-Class.
There's also the other survivors from Site-13, as well. It's been a while but he wasn't the only one from the other reality to make it out, I believe.
