My plan is not to re-buy anything. Since I started collection I have not run out of fragrance and the idea is that when I run out of a particular scent, to replace it with something new. There are so many fragrances to try and if I keep spending money on the same thing, I won't be able to try others.
You bring a passion, a soul to this thing that others can’t quite match. It comes through in spades, it’s relatable, it’s “brilliant” as you would say on that side of the pond. Always a pleasure stopping by here. Cheers🍻
Great video, as always! I'm in bed with covid right now, and I'm finding your videos particularly relaxing and entertaining, so thank you! Also, "it's like wearing a song, and everyone around you thinks that you're performing it." Beautifully put!
Excellent video as always George. Fragrances I’ve re-purchased: 1) midnight in Paris by VCaP 2) terre d’hermes 3) Dior homme intense 4) Hugo boss infinite 5) Prada lhomme 6) Prada luna rossa sport Apologies for any spelling mistakes currently recovering from sickness 😛
I rebought nautica classic, the green bottle. It was a first frag for me. Also Dior Fahrenheit was my first designer I recently repurchased a bottle! Love your content mate!
I now have four backup bottles of Dior homme. One being the silver stem from 2005. I absolutely adore this along with many others in the line. I decided I had to try it based off your many recommendations in your videos. Actually your dior homme review is one of if not my favorite videos from you.
Nice to see you again, George! Always look forward to your amazing videos. The only fragrances I have bought multiple bottles of are the three fragrances that I owned in my teen/early 20’s years, and went through them easily. Those are the original ADG, D and G Pour Homme, and believe it or not, Avon Wild Country. I used to steal sprays of that from my dad and he finally bought me my own bottle. For an old school scent, that one got me tons of compliments, even in high school. Anyway, you’re the man, George. Nobody does it like you! Be well. 🍻👍
George I thought of your Creed “Adventure” and Dior “Savage” video when I was in a department store today and 4 teenage boys were sampling from a sales clerk, and one of them said: that Allure “Home” sport is amazing! 😂
Understand why you love Edinburgh…..amazing place. I’m from Northern Ireland and Scotland is my favourite place to visit ……amazing country with amazing people
Yes Embra is fantastic been about 7 times in as many years whatever you want its there, whatever you need its there bought my first ADP there from Frasers
So good to the see you back George, hope you had nice days from your last video. I really like your music theme analogy, perfumes are one of your ways to conect with life, so agree with your "no need to apologize". The fragrances that will always be part of my life are Roja Reckless and Fahrenheit Le Parfum. Keep rockin George
I like your authentic overall montage, no music which put a serious nice mood to the video, and that you feel the suffer from the essentials of life in poor countries 👍💚
Your past video on Mugler Pure Malt was excellent and so I purchased a bottle. Your description was spot on and I absolutely love it (only wish its life was longer on my skin) thank you.
At least in Germany you can buy the "Dior Homme Original" on the web directly at Dior. I personally moved to Zaras 9.0 / Classic 9.0 fragrance. It has its own vibe with a big hommage to Dior Homme and I like it more. Costs only 13 euros (!) in Germany.
You described wearing a fragrance perfectly. “It’s like wearing a song but the people around u think your performing it”. Couldn’t have put it any more eloquently. Keep it up pop pop
Completely agree with you about the connection to our memories. I guess it's because with songs, they're unchanging - unlike a place or a building that can be torn down or landscape that can change. A song will always sound the same; therefore the memories attached to it are unchanging as well. The same can absolutely be said for a smell.
Always a pleasure to see and hear you Mr Atkinson, you’re looking well and hopefully on a full road to recovery. Answering your question, I was introduced to a gem of a fragrance two years ago which goes under the radar due to the house success with Halfeti and Endymion. This fragrance is a super star and quickly became my favourite fragrance, I’ve gone through 1.5 bottles and have 1 in back up. It’s the ultimate gentleman’s scent, it’s performance is absolute POWER, beautifully crafted and I love fragrances which take you on a real journey through their dry down. It’s just totally, totally gorgeous and I’m talking about The Blazing Mr Sam by Penhaligon’s. George if you haven’t sampled this, honestly this would be RIGHT up your street and after a couple of wears you’ll be totally addicted. Thanks for your video and glad to see you back with great content releases again mate.
Good to know you’ll be back on a more regular basis now, and reassuring to know that MI review is still far away. My most bought fragrances are Brut Instinct (discontinued ages ago), Cold from United Colors of Benaton as a teen, and D&G The One. Right now my favorites are Creed Silver mountain and Mellisime. But Armaf CDNI limited edition is giving me my most , in fact my only, compliments by strangers.
I've never bought the same exact fragrance more than once, but I had Al'Haramain L'Avanture, now I own Armaf CDNIM EDP and there is 10ml sample of Nishane Hacivat on the way. I just love Aventus DNA
Brilliant list George, some of these are fragrances I will really need to try. Think it's brilliant that you talked at the materialistic nature of this Hobby too as its important to remember how lucky we are to be able to be in a position to feel so passionately about something that in theory doesn't effect whether we live or die. But again on the brighter side, brilliant video George, glad you're back and the resemblance between music and perfume is now something I won't forget 👍👍
George, get yourself Rirana Salty Citrus. Grapefruit/lime, sage, vetiver put together with iris and a green touch from a subtle basil. Excellent performance
Pretty sure the first backup bottle i going to get will be l'homme ideal cool by guerlain; still got 2/3 of a bottle, yet i know i will run out. Really enjoy this creamy slightly sweet freshness and its my most complimented fragrance.
Before I thought of this as a hobby I went through more than ten bottles of DAVIDOFF-Cool Water over 25+ years. Now that it’s a hobby 24-Gold, YSL-M7 Oud Absolu YSL-Ultime Just about a month between videos George; you had me worried there, where do I get backup bottles of the Fragrance Apprentice?
you had me there for a moment when pausing about the mili review :). Great to have you back. Totally agree that we all should check in on our perspectives from time to time. But you know, the goal in life is to be happy (that way or another), and if fragrance is what brings us closer to it - nothing wrong with it. At least that's what I am telling myself ;)
Yes dior homme original! Until year ago I didn't have a single bottle of them now I onw 3! I chase it was hard to find and still it's luckily I found semi vintage version and a 2018 one My favorite fragrance together whit the intense version and gucci intense oud What masterpiece to me it's a ground breaking fragrance my guilty pleasure I feel high on the scent I can't live without it I can't describe what it does to me an instant bliss a smile a lifted spirit in communion with my senses all of the sudden I love the earth more than before The pure acord of my body and my soul it's lifted and my ankles of pain like chains are been cut and I'm light I can fly I close my eyes And I'm high above the earth I float I feel pure Like an angel I'm close to God
To get a bit philosophical too, not only all songs run out, all of us performers run out as well, sooner or later. Fragrances that I've bought more than once, mostly the older ones: Azzaro PH, Drakkar Noir, Azzaro Chrome, and Cool Water. Recent ones but mostly backups: Encre Noire, Burberry London, Davidoff Zino, Zara Warm Black, and Bentley for Men Absolute. My Fahrenheit is running low btw, should be getting another one before end of year.
Cool Water and Preferred Stock are probably the only fragrances that I've bought multiple times. Those were my scents throughout all of high school and junior high.
I’ve bought Robert Graham fortitude 5 times now, but not all in the same size. 2 different travel sets, two full bottles, and finally a big decanter. It’s the only one I’ve bought more than twice until now 😁
2x Gucci pour homme 1. 3x Tom Ford for men extreme. 2x Tom Ford noir EDT,EDP, extreme and anthracite. 4x Dior Eau Sauvage Parfum 2012. 4x Dior Homme Parfum (1 is a 2020 version) same with Dior Homme intense and Dior Homme. 3x Dior Homme Eau. 2x Dior Homme sport 2012. 3x YSL Opium vintage. 🤦🏾♂️ I could go on but I'm shamefully not going to.
Never thought i would like a rose fragrance but The One - Mysterious Nights has converted me, the Rose/Oud/Saffron combination is done many times but this one is a master piece. performance is so much better than the original, i would love to hear you do a review of it!
I love Dior Homme and have had it about four times since I first got it back in 2006. I only got it because it came with a free Dior coffet box and I’ve adored it since.
LIDGE is still my #1 fragrance off all time. There is just something so classy and delicious about it. No other frag has given me such huge feelings of 'class'. Cheapest original/strong formulation I can find is about £200 and that's just too much. it saddens me immensly because even though the latest version is 'okay', it just lacks that richness of cacao that the proper one did. I long to have that scent again.
I got into this game about two years ago. Early on, I acquired the usual suspects: Bleu EdP, The One EdP and AdG Profumo. I quite liked them and ran out them of fairly quickly. I then got bigger bottles. Allure Homme Sport now seems to be the next one to go. I only bought one back up bottle, though - JPG Ultra Male - since I was afraid it would get discontinued or reformulated. I resisted buying back ups of Pure Havanne and Pure Malt and now they are nowhere to be found.
24 Gold is a clone of Arabian Oud Kalemat, which came out first and smells niche compared to 24 Gold. Lattafa Ragbah is also a clone of it. Try the original George you'll be blown away! :)
It makes me sad that Pure Malt is becoming more and more scarce, but the silver lining is that for some weird reason the older bottles which everyone says are stronger are actually cheaper than the more recent bottles. I think my bottle is from like 2011 and I got it for $70 which really isn't that bad and it was the cheapest full bottle I could find from a reputable eBay merchant. I wish I would have bought 2 or 3 though.
Very Nice review! I am like that too...If one of my bottles i own is getting down there i get weird and buy another! Lol You need to do way way more reviews! Your one of the best there is! And sure it probably gets really old doing these reviews but dam your good at it! Allure Homme sport keeps coming up everywhere and of course Jeremy Fragrance says its the best ever and i have not picked this up yet! It seems like it wants me to get it because i here about it so much! Maybe i need to pull the trigger and buy it!
Terra de Hermes, Channel Allure Sport (also), Dior Fahrenheit and Eau Sauvage Parfum, CdG 2man and Bentley Absolute, those are fragrances I bought more than once and unless discontinued, I always want to have a bottle around myself.
Bought a sample 5ml of millesime imperial, easily the weakest perfume I've ever tried. Smells good for a few minutes tho. Can't wait to try Armafs copy.
I’ve had 3 Raghba by Lattafa, which is like saying I would have bought 24 Gold 3x if it had been $15-20 cheaper. Two Raghba Wood Intense for the additional smoke. Two Lolita Lempika Au Masculin, as another cheapie. And for the love of fig, 3 Diptyque Philosykos.
The original Dior Homme is definitely discontinued. I've contacted all the shops and even the sketchy sellers in my country and every one of them told me that it's discontinued and impossible to order. Only the new version is available. They are probably just selling the remaining stock in selected markets. I hope reviewers give Valentino Uomo another look now and start recommending it as a replacement even tough it's not the same. If it too got discontinued/changed I'd be devastated.
just found a bottle of Seville a l'Aube L'Artisan Parfumeur and Bottega Veneta: Parco Palladiano VIII: Neroli. both real neroli and thick dense orange blossom !
Dior Homme is still save. In fact, on the Dior Homepage (Germany and France I know) this is in the best seller category together with Sauvage EdT whereas the new one is not 🙈. I always look at Ombre Leather but somehow I have never pulled the trigger. Maybe one day, maybe 😅
Get a decant if you haven't smelled it before! It's very agressive on the leather. A nice fragrance but the leather projects really really intensely; way too much leather in it imo.
What were the good years of pure malt?? Cause I bought it based off the display the display bottle smelled amazing when I bought it, but the bottle I bought smelled so watered down in comparison to the display bottle.
My plan is not to re-buy anything. Since I started collection I have not run out of fragrance and the idea is that when I run out of a particular scent, to replace it with something new. There are so many fragrances to try and if I keep spending money on the same thing, I won't be able to try others.
Agreed. I do the same.
You probably haven't fallen in love with a scent yet
@@atonyt3762 damn. That's deep!
I've had the same idea for sure.
Nothing wrong with the OP's comment, very relatable, I just can't wait to see all the pretentious fragsnob responses...

Agree! 😍

@@TheFragranceApprentice thank you! I'm getting there gradually
Excellent video as always George.
Fragrances I’ve re-purchased:

Never smelt Dior Homme 2005. It's number 1 on my wishlist...
@@botrytis_cinerea you know it's really not that different from the 2011 imo. The iris is just a bit more intense and "sleeker"
I’ve re-purchased Green Irish Tweed (Spring), Millesime Imperial (Summer), Viking (Fall) and Royal Oud (Winter). Only bottles I’ve ever repurchased.
Great video! That fragrance/song comparison was pure gold. Cheers from Brazil!

Dior homme is my all time favorite. I have two 150ml and two 100ml left plus a 50ml that’s almost gone. It’s very special to me 💖

So what happens when the Pure Malt has run out? (Genuine question since now you can't get it anymore and I need to get a bottle)
What were the good years of pure malt?? Cause I bought it based off the display the display bottle smelled amazing when I bought it, but the bottle I bought smelled so watered down in comparison to the display bottle.
Hi all, just wondering where I can get my hands on the 24 fragrance in the UK 👍 appreciate you all
