    Lightweight is good and what did I use it for it’s a lawnmower ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxTPN04aT-Qdjr_KS3ql7ng8wnU3wwsCqk also recommend Yes it is lightweight so hence not as robust as our old one. But if you take care it does the job really well.

    I always warm the engine up before draining this stirs up all the dirt in the engine and it come out with the oil . Also the oil is hot so it flows quicker , so the clean oil that goes in the engine looks nice and clean and stays clean for a while .

      Same here. I run the engine for a few minutes. Also cover the gas cap with a plastic bag to no gas leaks out.

    My lawnmower is 20 years old. Probably going change the oil soon. Which is what brought me here. I haven't sharpened the blade either. I used to have a small landscaping business but I never changed oil. 😂 This is one of the mowers I used back then. To be honest, it still seems as good as it did new. Doesn't smoke, starts first pull, wheels are fine, no holes in the bag.

    Just changed the 5+ year old black syrup in dad's push mower today. Pulled the plug that's probably the same age and for some odd reason is black as sin 🤣 Guess it's time for an arrrr filter too. Glad the mower is 20 plus years old and not worth much.
    I looked into a new push and nice ones go for like 350 bucks! So glad I'm helping Ol Dad out.

    First off, thank you. I feel stupid on looking how to change oil on a small engine!! Easy generally. . . This is the first mower I have EVER had that didn't have a drain plug. It was more than due. . . So I decided to change it. I guess they sell more mowers if they don't give you a way to change it like any other conventional engine. All I can do is shake my head. . . Lol. Thanks for the ole' tip it on the side wisdom. 😂

    Why is it that there’s what looks like acres on your right tire kind of staggered starting in 3:40? I’m just generally curious, is it because the tread is gone and your trying to create something that will give some traction?

  • @peteacher52
    @peteacher52 4 роки тому +2

    Prefer your first way but can't kneel down and get up any more, so I use a sucky pump from a water paint dispenser with a tube attached to remove oil through the filler pipe. 10-30 oil does the trick and never let it get discoloured or fall into the trap of thinking it looks OK so I'll defer the change. A few cents worth of oil is a better option than an extensive repair.

    I have a Briggs & Stratton 4 HP from 2009, I use it often, heavy use, been through several blades,,, it still starts right up, still has great compression and good power.
    I purchased it new from Home Depot, and the first thing I did was to toss the shitty B&S 30w oil it came with, into the recycle bin....
    THE BEST OIL TO RUN FOR A LONG LIFE WITHOUT CARBON BUILD UP IS 100% SYNTHETIC MOTORCYCLE OIL.
    I use the Quicksilver Full Synthetic 10W-30 Motorcycle Oil quart, available on Amazon.
    It just makes sense, a small, high revving 4-stroke engine needs pure synthetic oil made from natural gas,
    Just like a motor cycle engine.....
    Not the crude oil sludge that Briggs & Stratton wants you to use, it builds up carbon deposits in the head and kills the engine compression over time.

    To prevent oil from coming out of any other ports, the manual even shows spark plug side goes up not side ways. So oil drains towards the back of the engine, away from the intake and exhaust. Inconvenient. Oil pump best.
