    No stops and no editing, yet all the information and data points are there, shown in a nice manner.
    Keep it up!

    There are also two matching handy storage bins BEHIND the seats-you do have to be stopped to get them as the seats have to be pulled forward to access them.

    Great review. Most reviewers and commenters are crying about lack of engine horsepower and many of them ask why couldn't they make it as powerful as the Mazda Speed, while this review goes one step further and gets into drivetrain efficiency making the power to wheels equal to the Mazda Speed, and when you couple that with significantly lower weight the 2016 has got just the right amount. Only miss I can see was that the reason the fuel efficiency is so awesome is that the SkyActive engine has variable compression to allow it to power along on the track and loaf along on the highway. Can't wait to get my Club.

    Ahh man I love your enthusiasm! It shows how much fun this car has to offer. I can honestly see myself as one of those fanatics as I grow older with gray hair and all. And it's all thanks to the great innovation that Mazda has done with their top bread car the Miata/MX-5. So thanks so much for showing us how great of a car this truly is. I'm going to save up for one.

    Great report! Lots of fun watching this video. It was so informative and just plain fun watching you having so much driving this Mazda. I just bought a Mazda CX-5 and I love it. I have never had a Mazda before. Zoom Zoom is right. Now I want a MX-5 too.

    I purchased a MX5 in July. I am 6 ft 1in . It’s not that bad with the top down and glorious when you drop it. If you test drive one you will buy it. It’s a near perfect drive.

    I've got 3300 miles on mine, love it, even though it is the base model. I'm snowed in now here in NH but I get it out every chance I get. Top down in 35 degree weather is fine, great heater and very little wind in the cabin.

    i think he really loves this car
    i dont blame him i just got one the grand touring model and i love it
    the one bad thing you cant do for 2016 is mix and match equipment no heated leather seats on the club no limited slip diff on the touring(that makes no sense to me)
    iam sure they will probably change that next year
    this is the most fun i have ever had in any car i have owned

    Sorry noob question, but why did the car kinda "pop po po pop" when he started really fast from stop at 14:38? Is there a term for this? Is it harmful to the car?

    6 years later... ;-): A) wash the car before doing detail shots B) the topology of a car is linked to "hard" and "soft" functionality - so it's not so much a matter of personal taste, but rather one of a non-verbal communication with the target groups in specific regions. If you don't like a design element and you are not in the target group, the design department has actually done a good job. So, "the car abruptly ends" is only half the story. Link that information to aerodynamics, overall length of the car, handling, the formal language of the Z4 or the F-type Roadster and you can offer the viewer some information - which might be the reason why they are watching the video in the first place...

    Thanks for a good review! A bit repetitive though, and if you said the word "so" one more time I was ready to move on to another review; it drove me crazy! I've owned a "Sport" trim MT for over 9 months now and love it. I didn't want to pay an additional $4000 to get the upgrades, most of which I wouldn't use, on the "Club."

    Great review dude.. love your enthusiasm for the mx-5! But, I want your honest opinion on the soft top. I saw your review of the '14 Miata PRHT and you seemed to rave about the hardtop option. I'm purposely holding off on purchasing the mx-5 because I'm hoping the '17 model year will re-introduce the hardtop once again. When I purchase a car, I don't just look at how great it is/looks today.. I also wonder what it may be like in 10 years. I feel that although easy to use, the soft top will eventually wear, crack and possibly leak. Not to mention it's a much easier target for vandalism. Do you miss the hard top option here? Also.. I agree with you on the rear being the least attractive about the car. I don't mind the tail lights.. but what are those white reflectors (in grooves) at the bottom right/left sides of the rear bumper? I think those look hideous. Thanks again for the review man.. keep up the good work!

    • @AutoTalkcom
      @AutoTalkcom  9 років тому

      +Anthony Lopez I praised the 2014 PHRT because of its speed, and its very minimal weight impact. I am a much bigger fan of soft tops in general though. I doubt there will ever be a hard top ND, simply due to size constraints and weight concerns, but that doesn't hurt the car in the slightest. All soft tops will eventually leak or need to be replaced if they are not taken care of, but even the PHRT can have leaking problems if the rubber seals get dry and brittle.
      TL;DR get the soft top, and love life.

    Can you fit a case of wine in the trunk without un-boxing it? The trunk looks deeper than previous versions. Also, no spare tire and still not runflats ether? Makes for a major issue.

    • @Digi20
      @Digi20 8 років тому +1

      +yogibearstie mazda surely will not fit runflat tires, they still dont offer the same handling as standard ones.

    Little confused about the generic statement about not buying a Subaru.

  • @MrCrismystery

    Why no subaru? I'm between this and an STI. Please help.

    • @AutoTalkcom
      @AutoTalkcom  9 років тому

      +Cristian Younan This and the STI are two cars that are so completely different, you might as well be asking if you should buy a Ford Fiesta or Chevy Silverado pickup truck. Your best bet is to always drive them. So just head down to your local Subaru and Mazda dealers and give them both a try.

    • @mikeni1225
      @mikeni1225 9 років тому

      +Cristian Younan I'm also between this and an STI limited, to be honest for my daily commute, there is no way I will ever get close to STI's limits while burning so much fuel, my dilemma is I may need backseats if I decide to have a baby

  • @OrdinaryMoe

    I'm just curious as to what your feelings are exactly on Subaru's. Why do you say, don't buy a Subaru?

    • @AutoTalkcom
      @AutoTalkcom  9 років тому +1

      +OrdinaryMoe Currently, I don't feel that Subaru's pricing and quality stands up to its competition in the marketplace. In short, the other cars you could buy are better equipped for the dollar and feature more refined interiors.

    • @psyberiusblack
      @psyberiusblack 6 років тому

      AutoTalk.com Agreed. Been this way at Subaru since the WRX hit the US market. I feel like you just don't get your money's worth.

  • @pitis2flie

    "Don't buy a Subaru"? Do they have mechanical reliability issues or what? Just wondering because I've been drooling over the new 2017 BRZ. But this Miata looks even more fun, but not as practical.

      I went on a test drive and fit just fine being 6'1, it's not the most comfortable but it fits to the point where you won't be uncomfortable the entire time.
      My issue with the car and my height is it's often not easy getting out of the car when parking around other cars in a parking lot.
