However, Christopher Golden saw the German omnibus editions and loved them so much, he pushed for Dark Horse to do them too. I guess the success of the other Mignola omnibuses and Golden's push made these omnibuses happen. And just so you know, it's definitely not set in the Hellboy Universe. However, Baltimore is set in the same universe as Joe Golem.
i wanted to collect the Mignolaverse books but BPRD Plague of Frogs hardcovers are impossible to get without breaking the bank, just another casualty of not starting to collect hardcovers early on. Not to mention the Hellboy omnibuses aren't in hardcover only soft for some reason.
Omar, Mignola struck lightening in a bottle with Hellboy. I love Hellboy, but nothing else he's done captures the horror, humor and magic of Hellboy. I gave up on BPRD somewhere during the frog thing; Hellboy was the light that made the other characters shine. Joe Golem was a chore, at least for me. The world building in Baltimore is good, but the characters not so much. For me, I wish sci-fi and horror authors spent a bit less time on the world building and a lot more time on the people and characters. For me, it's the people that linger in memory, not the plot or world. JMO. Question: Runaways Omnibus, The Invisibles Omnibus or Doom Patrol Omnibus, if you could choose only one, which would it be?

I mean I read this when it first came out when they decide to extend the universe. And I was a little bit hesitant at first but I decided hey it's Mike Mendiola what the hell. But for me, it'll be a heartbreaking miss as they aren't going to be over-sized library editions like the recent Harrow County and Umbrella Academy releases they deserve.
Just read a review on amazon that said page thickness was less/lower than BPRD & Abe Sapien H/C's and the dust jacket was wrinkled or warped. Has anyone noticed these issues with your copies??
Take reviews on Amazon or any other site with a pinch of salt. It won't always be the case for everyone. Reason i say this is because i purchased the Baltimore Omnibus from Amazon and it was in perfect condition.

not really. They are good, but not Brubaker Criminal good, to me.
Why are the Hellboy collections in garbage paperbacks? I don't mind paperbacks but the Hellboy ones are the worst I've seen.
I'm not sure, perhaps it was because they already had the Library Editions.
