Well this was not just a little bit of EQ, that was a lot. Plus I am 90% sure that there is also a sample blended in there
I don't think people realize how much bass drums get processed down to a slap.

It might just be me, but I love the way the raw drums sounded compared to the mixed final product. There’s something about it that sounds really old school like what you could hear on a lot of old school 90’s Metal mixes.

I mean im not against having the 3 mics for the kick setup but i found i can get a really good sound with the beta 52a by itself mounted a good length into the kick hole and aimed off center.
when you say "off center" you mean the mic is off center and aimed at the beater? Or do you mean you aim to the side of the beater?

How do you get rid of beater bounce? I've always had this issue with my slave pedal whenever I don't completely deaden the kick drum with muffling. I do have a porthole and I have a low to medium spring tension.

That pillow killed half or more of the tone of the bass drum...EQPads are way better than a bed pillow....You're using the speaker/woofer mic to fill in and compensate for what you took out with that pillow...All you need is one bass drum mic on the hole to get a "monstrous" kick drum sound

I noticed you have the Cobras set up here and was wondering if you have specifications for using the two? Trick for faster songs? Cobras just for this try out video? What makes you decide on which pedal to use for the day? Keep up the good work and I love both the Cobras and Trick now!

How much does the room affect the kick drum sound?
room is one of the biggest variables
Ideally (in my opinion) not at all. I personally use room mics only for catching cymbals.
@@christianbauer8852 you're saying room doesn't affect the sound? You obviously need to get out more and play in different locations. The room is a huge variable in the sound.
