It's a great choice of music! Jazz has that chaos in it with improv, mood swings, like big citys have. I think they should have the music follow the city ativity like the more players in the city, the more swing to the music it should give. And we need more jazz in the game! And jazz is new world vibes, it started in New Orleans, a city of mix cultures, there's also latin jazz that can come in also to give other vibes. Happy for this!
I fucking love how prominent the percussions are throughout the day theme. The smooth jazz in the night theme is also just such a bop. This is actually probably my favorite city theme already.
Oh my god, when I saw tuliyollal i thought we'd get some island/rural/tribal type of bgm, I was not expecting this amazing jazzy track, but there is really not a complaint, it's a surprise, and a good and welcome one!
I love jazz so much… but I was expecting more Latin Jazz vibes and even some Bossa Nova considering what the locale is, the atmosphere, what the city looks like. I wish it was a bit less big band/city sort of jazz… So that being said, I def like the night music a bit more over the day (oh but I forgot to mention, I did really enjoy the day theme much more when it slowed down! Love the melody line that kicks in too) But otherwise, I still vibe with more jazz in the game. Just not where it appears in this case :’)
This is great. Just a note, you may want to add "OST" to the video title, probably after "Dawntrail". That was the term I used to search for this music first and this vid didn't show up (new boss theme did tho). If I didn't know already that this was the town theme and to switch to that search term, I wouldn't have found this video.
I love that night theme, though it'd be even more awesome if the city just really lit up when it turns to night time, and all the street lights turn on and just illuminate the city with that warm orange from flames and such.
I will miss the trend that Shadowbringers and Endwalker introduced, where the expansion hub theme is based on the secondary leitmotif of the expansion, even including the lyrics in the end. Knowledge Never Sleeps being based on Tomorrow and Tomorrow, and The Ewer Brimmeth being based on Flow. We might still get that for Solution Nine.
I can see that, but isn’t this a city where all different cultures and races are blending and mixing with one another? Jazz being a blend of multiple types music styles and there in itself having different types of jazz. It makes perfect sense to me.
how do you know it doesnt fit the city? we still don't know the story nor we actually know whats going on in the city. i prefer this over some generic "Jungle" or tribal music
they should've gone with bossa nova jazz if they wanted to go that direction imo. big band jazz as a consistent city theme is kind of insane and i will be turning off bgm here

When will they learn that you don't put loud music like this ina city where everyone hangs and afks? So inappropriate and shows Soken really doesn't think about that "game" part about his music.
I definitely understand where the sentiment of the Tuliyollal music feeling like it doesn't fit the city's aesthetic is coming from, but there is something uniquely "Final Fantasy" about the combination to me and I really vibe with it.
whats with everybody that says the song doesnt "fit" the theme and they wanted something representative of SA, or Mexico. im a latino that actually LIVES in latin america and i love this. you should all stop trying to impose your generic ass tastes in what we actually like or think its correct i'm in love with this music already but you all just wanted some GENERIC JUNGLE MUSIC because that's what you "THINK" a Mexican themed city should sound like??? thats just your preconceptions because some of you think everything at the south of the US is mexico and you actually know NOTHING about us.
Another latine here, born raised and living, and I approve of this message! Besides, jazz just SCREAMS cultural melting pot which fits what we know of Tuliyollal to a tee. Pleasantly surprised by this direction!
As a Mexican (living in Mexico), I couldn’t shout this louder from the rooftops if I tried. Our cities are modern, fun, quirky and interesting, exactly what this music is. Also, Latin America isn’t a bunch of short dudes banging sticks together. There are thriving Asian, black, European and indigenous communities here that make up a gigantic cultural mosaic that is very unique. Also, Soken was born in Mexico. He has the right to decide what represents us. End of story, no arguments.
I love that the city doesn't have stereotypical Inca pan flute music. Urqopacha and the surrounding zones sound like they'll have those types of pieces. I love that the city has something different. Something more urban and multicultural.
I don't know what I was expecting, but it wasn't big band jazz or swing 😅 Definitely a welcome surprise! Also an interesting mix of "Open Sky" and "Close in the Distance" in the latter part!
Ooooo I like this! Ok now I'm wondering if there is an Amuratain / Ancient influence on the culture since Elpis, Amurat and other Ancient associated areas also used jazz and swing music.
If you tell me this music is from Cuphead, i would totally believe it. Love LOVE LOVE this. *Edit : Especially the 2nd part of the 'Day theme' where it mellows down. Chef kiss*

@@XenosFFBE Not so much the motives; but Amaurot has been well associated with jazz. There are more examples but an obvious example is Akademia Anyder's theme (Shadows Withal), the ancients love their jazz!

Now I just need my hands of it and maybe I will warmed up to it more as time goes by.

I don't think you can make that call till one gets context of the city and the characters in it. You're just going based on some building aesthetic to make that decision.
I was not expecting to hear a big band/jazz theme for this city, but it is a very welcome surprise

This gives me Emperors New Grove vibes, and I love it
