Your right Pipkeajaj, The parachute was rigged with to much brake, but also the angle of attack was to great for the parachute not to be in a stall condition during all of the flight. This was a home made PPC and the builder was not schooled in rigging the parachute.
The whole flight seems to be with great trailing edge deflection (brakes). He was close to a parachutal stall and finally entered it while getting in some wind gradient. As he descended he encountered less wind...The canopy could not dive to speed up because it was restrained with the brakes, so at certain point the wing stalled a a lifting foil entering the parachutal stall, he worsened it when he gave power because he increased even more the AOA. Let the wing fly or adjust the brake lines!
A view from an expert. Can you talk to this guy ? he needs help to get it right. It just looked wrong from someone who knows nothing about using a parachute to fly in a go-kart. I am still laughing......very entertaining. Not laughing with him, but at him......ha.....ha.....
4:22 total brake on the tailing edge, at about 40 feet, ground effect wont go till about 20 with that chute height. I can see the cross wind at 4:00 minutes on the video. He should have ascended again. and entered the retaliative wind direction to land. With the trike, the pendulum effect would last longer than without. And with the same center of gravity but more weight the flair needs more precision and trike stability.
Hi Monsterdunkk, The pilot and most of the people saw the parachute as rigged with to much angle of attack. The chute was rigged with to much leading edge in the up position thus causing the parachute to be close to stall during the entire flight. Thanks for watching Tom.

That vehicle was known as the ParaScender, a cheap knockoff of the ParaPlane, which was the original powered parachute. I flew both the ParaScender was dangerous crap.
Its called a "Meta-Stall". Chute not rigged properly, gets behind machine. You start dropping straight down and instinct is to go full power. But if cut power the cart swing under the chute and stabilize (pendulum). You have really understand it to believe it, or else you add power as you fall straight down "locking" the chute and make it worse. Too bad the video was cut, we never saw it develop.
I fly a six sr7,always take to full power with plane fastened 2 trailer warm up pre flight !! Have had engine out in past, landed just fine, beautiful aircraft, safe aircraft,,need to get mine out and fly !!

The "Gondala" the pilot sits in, well built and intact , this tells me, start again with much lighter material etc. After all you do not design it for hitting the ground , o.k. maybe one has to ..oops ha ha
Guys, we better start getting it together or the FAA will soon come-a-knockin' with a NoPRM....Notice of Proposed Rule Making. Then comes registration, mandatory licensing etc. etc. And stay the hell out of PCA airspace at 18,000+ feet. Positive Control Airspace. P.S. Is that Steve Canyon in the leather jacket?

@@hadleymanmusic You've fallen fallen for the infamous "downwind turn stall " myth which applies to all aircraft types. As well pointed out, the pilot was flying on the edge of the stall for the whole flight.Because he was at low altitude he would have been using his ground speed to judge his airspeed. Due to being pushed by the tailwind, he simply stalled because of the illusion of having a faster airspeed than his actual airspeed.
Captain Salty - I guess the recorded conversation was not to your liking because it was too much of a forbearance of the crash. Of course, no on wants to hear that. My criticism is the cameraman pointing his camera downward after getting to the crashed PPC.
That probably felt like jumped a go-cart 75ft then crash landing!!!?? And the guy in the wheelchair.....I’m guessing he tried it the day before???
The brake lines were way too tight, it was almost stalling the entire flight.
Never confidence-building when your crew comes out in a wheelchair.
Save yourself 4 minutes of bored yawns and fast forward to about 4:15.

I had a PPC. Blue Heron. I am at a loss how he even did this. Even fully deflected and turning I never stalled the canopy like that.
No spinal injuries???!!! Astounding!
Just a headache ! He is used to it.

This video didn't bother me until the guy in the wheelchair wheeled himself into view, me thinking "was this the last pilot ?".
That happened to me and Jim Mcleay last October, engine stopped in a turn at 300’, we fell straight down like that in a back yard, broke my tail bone
maybe has hang port is out of line???
#1 I hate those damn things... #2 You're video title is misleading, to put it nicely.

Apart from the fact that the landing was downwind and the airspeed dropped suddenly.
"You've got to admire the man though".
Seconds later he crashes.
Amy Ann 🤤🤤🤤🤤
What was wrong ??
Show boating. Don’t do maneuvers close to the ground. Guys lucky to walk away.

I crashed one of these trying to take off downwind. Cocky and too lazy to reset the chute. It’s always operator error
who is he where i won't fly around him?
And they walked away Vol. 12...lol Im glad he's ok that was some crazy flying I am still waiting for the right weather to take mine up. Dang WIND !
BORING, don't give up day job man, why don't you do a post ov paint drying?, More exciting

Hang the Unit from a Beam somewhere next time to get the Right Pitch before taking it to the Air.....
That's what can happen when you turn downwind close to the ground.
Not really. I do that all the time. If the chute were rigged right it wouldn’t have been possible to stall

RIGGED TOTALLY WRONG. PARAWING WAS ALMOST IN FULL STALL ENTIRE FLIGHT. MAN WAS LUCKY HE WAS NOT KILLED.
This is the year 2020 I think I'd prefer a good ol set of wings you know they just never go out of style

56 seconds into this video Im sayin
" do not turn downwind" now im watchin to see what happens.
Why do you think that turning downwind caused the stall?

Lack of aviation knowledge. Turned downwind at low airspeed I suspect
indicated airspeed is constant in a PPC.
Irvin Sahni some info is missing here but he obviously didn’t have adequate indicated airspeed.
Boring as all hell.
The eye opener to me was among the spectators rushing to help was the guy in the wheel chair!!
Maybe if you didn’t expect less from someone in a wheelchair your eyes wouldn’t be so “opened”.
Absolutely correct Charlie
