Sweet baby Jeebus!!! Even as a Floyd die hard, I was not expecting this to be THIS damn good. It crackles like fire. Its like a CPR of sound breathing life back into this body of work.
Nick your a genius , these old songs have become as fresh and as good as any subsequent Floyd tracks
YES. And finally shining much deserved light on the largely unappreciated work from those early/middle years. Love it.
Those first 13 minutes really remind you of why PF became a sensation so soon (and a bit of an unfair follow up... the vocals on Fearless seem quite off).
The best era for the Floyd!!!! Thank you Nick!!!
I was there on the night they filmed the concert for the DVD! Love Nicks comment about "tiptoeing between Dave and Roger for so long that I've worn my ballet shoes out." 😅
I was stage right. Looked to my left and none other then Nick Mason was checking out the support band! I was literally twenty feet away from him 😊
Great that NMSFOS plays all pre DSOTM material and Syd's songs that were never played live. Martin Kemp was the biggest surprise for me. Fantastic gig that I'll never forget. Love ya Nick for keeping Syd's family sweet with the royalties and just for being you 💫 🌟 🥁 🎶 ✌🏼
Amazing, this sounds like it is really in the 60s, early 70s. Most other bands sound like it is whatever future year they are playing 60s or 70s songs in. This just has that real sound.
love how they put the riff from narrow way in the middle of interstellar overdrive!
Almost. It was Embryo that you heard them put into Interstellar Overdrive.
@@huhuhahahhh2915 at 3:09 interstellar overdrive goes to the riff of the narrow way par 2. (the 3:30 ish in the narrow way)
The more I listen to this the more I recognize the genius of Nick Mason; an unsung hero for me. I apologize for the last 50 years plus for my ignorance. Better late than never. It is so obvious. GBG NO EDITS.
Nick wins my heart over with this rendition of PF greatest hits plus. Thanks a ton. GBG NO EDITS.
Surprisingly superb album - a wonderful tribute to Syd and the band's early incarnation. A joyous reincarnation.
The most worth while thing in music in the last 30 years. Thank you Nick!
This is really a beautiful album...
Thanks for posting, fabulous performance music Nick Mason and excellent staff music
I will join the cliche of the month question club;
Why did I not listen to this sooner???
Love the Floyd.
This is excellent!!!!!!!!
Incredible how beautiful the PF old songs were !! The wall canceled all the old memories.....! Thank you Nick !! The very Soul of PF
With all due respect to David and Roger, this is the best live album ever released by a Pink Floyd member. And frankly, I think it's the second-best Pink Floyd-related live album ever after Is There Anybody Out There: The Wall Live.
I would agree with you if Live at Pompeii never existed
@@matteobandera321 and the 2nd side of Ummagumma...
absolutely agree.
some old and some forgotten songs are resurrected and given them new life on the best way.
all sounds unbelievable fresh and powerful
I disagree on is there anybody out there, that was a terrible album.
I agree 100% this is what I really wanted when I saw them when I was 16 in 1988 and saw Pink Floyd at Giants stadium, NJ
Saw Concert in Tulsa Oklahoma it was Fantastic every song was excellent give it a 10.
Glad to hear yah grand show! Thank You 😊
My first Live experience of 'The Floyd' goes back to 1971 (Meddle Tour), and then again in '78 (Animals), but this is actually one of (if not) the best (non)Pink Floyd concert (cuts) I've ever come across. Thank you so much for posting. xxx
Fun to hear the riff from Embryo referenced in Interstellar Overdrive.
I am soooo looking forward to seeing this show in a few weeks. Magic era of Floyd music.
hope to see to nick and the lads at some point my fav era of the floyd !!!
All I can say is wow!!! The best thing since Pink Floyd it’self. Great job Nick
What a GREAT album! I wish I 'd seen the tour!
We're three guys from Denmark, having tickets for Royal Albert Hall, dying to go when we can! - have been waiting almost two years now - saw the show in Forum Copenhagen (also here on the tube).. Repet: Dying to go to London!
I love this entire line up, but hats off to Dom Beken - he has to be the hardest working guy on that stage. To be able to play both Rick's part and Roger's trippy moog stuff? Just amazing
Thanks for sharing!
Phenomenal! Seeing these live on Tues 🤘
A great tribute to Syd
Quite surprising. Faithful renditions, excellent!

Amazing version of Celestial Voices. For me it is the most beautiful piece of music ever.
Saw them at The Orpheum in Boston! Amazing Show!
saw them in Wallingford CT in '19, best show of the year!!
Listening to "Atom Heart Mother" and "Echoes" live was the best thing last year.
I'd rate it better than the album version if it weren't for what they did to the non staccatto choir versions. Omitting the final galled me too. The almost-but-not-quite-Roger that kicks off If next kinda killed my buzz. But everything before that is amazing!
wonderful set list
Mason is the true last member of the Pink Floyd. RiP Richard; RiP SyD. love your souls.
Well, David and Roger too.. but what are they doin?
best thing in a million.
@@_Ramen-Vac_ David did a gig in Pompeii again recently if I’m not mistaken and Roger is still busy being in love with himself
Awesome - thanks!❤️😊
WASNT EXPECTING IT TO BE SO GREAT BUT IT WAS GREAT
It was while participating in The V & A Museum's Pink Floyd exhibition in 2019 that Mason started to feel the need to play again the drums live.
It was Lee Harris and Guy Pratt that approached Nick with the idea of forming this band.
Guy Pratt has been touring for a long time with David Gilmour.
The band didn't want to copy the music like those tribute bands. It was the opportunity to improvise and rework the songs.
But what's the big difference if you haven't noticed yet it's the choice to cover the old songs before Dark Side of the Moon which is unusual for tribute bands of Pink Floyd.
So with a setlist of old songs from Pink Floyd first period some from Syd Barrett, we can expect a variety of styles from heavy rock, space, psychedelic, and pop.
Some long instrumental songs like '' Set the Control for the Heat of the Sun'' provide more satisfaction for a Prog fan.
The song ''Interstellar Overdrive'' with is great riff is the highlight of the show, it feels that there's a little momentum lost after this great song, but it picks up again later with more good music.
The members of the band seem to enjoy playing especially when they make eye contact with each other with a smile on their faces.
The concert is a bit short, but I don't think they could add more great songs from that era.
Being a follower mostly from the Meddle period and up to the Wall, I still enjoy listening to some of their old tracks.
If the band didn't want to copy the music like others Pink Floyd tribute bands, it is a special tribute album live of Pink Floyd that has the merit to play some songs rarely played in the past years.
I can't say anything wrong with the picture quality and sound of this concert.
There's some special effect in the editing of the show but not too much.
As for the voice of Spandau Ballet singer Gary Kemp and longtime bass player Guy Pratt, they were not trying to imitate Syd or David, but at times the voice of Gary had some similarity with David.
You can watch the concert with interviews or without.
In conclusion, this a refreshing take of some old songs... that will bring nostalgia for some who have loved the first period of one of the most influential bands of rock music, and some fun to young fans who want to discover the bands that their father always raved on about...
Psyk Out Freaks

Very nice! Thanks! The old and good rock n roll!
Quality music, well done!
Recomendable es excelente 😊
Unbelievable...! ❤
Just shows no matter how great a band is some will ALWAYS criticise, personally I think this is brilliant 👍
This is wonderful!....thanks
When he played the Narrow way riff.. I was shivering! Killer track.
I've just listened to this all the way through and I can't hear the riff from The Narrow Way. Where is it?

J'ai eu la chance d'aller à un concert à Paris.
Le pur bonheur. Et pourtant je ne suis pas le plus fan de cette première époque, mais des morceaux d'anthologie qui font du bien.

Awesome stoner set. Please bring it to Australia.

Я в восторге!!!
Fab gig, if you listen hard enough you'd hear me yelling at the beginning at the start of Interstellar. Now they are going striaght into Astronomy which is a slight shame as Inter was such a great gig starter. Last night Brighton, great show. Guy P had a bit of an issue with his bass for a few mins. Bothered him more than the audience I think.
Also seeing them Albert Hall Sat, will be glad to be standing. Hate sitting to this stuff.
Hi. Yes, it was a great gig and they did a very good job on the sound too. Please also see my video of "Set The Controls For The Heart of the Sun" from Gateshead on 22 June 2024: ua-cam.com/video/LZDvsrgi6D0/v-deo.htmlsi=DsFF8sWRZK_7F4wL
Чувствую потенциал этой группы....
Hope you play the states soon
If this is the content on the bluray I just ordered, then consider me one happy camper!!! Glad also that Obscured By Clouds is given so much attention (but no Free Four? The best song) as it, and More, are often overlooked.
The content of the bluray should be pretty much the same.
If this comes around again, do not miss it! FYI Roger gets full writing credits on Free Four, hence it's noticeable absence :(
Y pareciera que Nick se da el gusto de tocar como le viene en gana, sin las restricciones de PF...

Barrett - Alveary Defined
By Patrick Murphy
“Wear that crown of thorns like a jesters cap!”
The madcap laughed
“See these bees buzzing to and fro,
Making me honey, and I’ll have milk
When the cows come home!
“The stars and planets have their zone I
Know, I’m off course of course!”
“Watch me go up and down on a
Stallion with a red and yellow mane!”
“This is just a carnival, and life
Is a childs carousel!”
“Can’t you see that we are the same,
You are just different than me, I
Cry for the Moon, sip zip zoom!”
“The wheel on the bike spoke to me,
A kaleidoscopic lightshow daydream!”
“Trip into the wall, ask the Gnome
The little know it all! Or did you just smack your head and dream it all?”
“The Scarecrow knows the riddle of the
Craven raven call, Amore perched
Upon his hat, afraid no more!”
“You are all my fairy calvacade and the
Mysteries are now on parade!”
“You miss the meaning of my songs, It is
True art-I-miss. . . shine bright silver star
Of Semiramis and see-me-are-amis!”
“I cannot instruct them, they take my lines
And turn them into scribbles, confusing
Them with words instead of riddles, but I’ll
Never get mad but I’ll laugh and jiggle
And sing a song or two!”
“Did you not know that heaven is amid us
Ask a Jap, that chap will know!”
“A fair lass I knew did Leave, Lucy was
Her name, Left to be with the diamonds
A grail in the sky. I would
Be a fool to follow her, but thats exactly
What I am. Will they remember me
After I leave?
Will they sing about me?”
“My hand is a safe place for a butterfly,
I wont crush it, I only want to feel
The flutter of its wings and hear your
Lips sputter and laugh!”
“The King Bee is a prisoner of his kingdom,
Observe my stripes, my strife, my myth, my
Life! The Alveary is my crown, beneath
Their butts sit stingers, like thorns
Cutting yet protecting me, the floor
Be below me, be below me, bee below me!”
“Busking with a friend, basking in pleasure
Beneath a crazy diamond sun, both Pipers
At the Gates of Dawn. Cut off our strings
For our instruments, no longer will we be
A commercial pawn! Nor mannequin marionettes, I’m a real boy!”
“Banned from the band, I replaced them too.
I wave to my friend through our adjacent
Kitchen windows. We never beat each other
Up about it, he just beat my drums and
I continued to laugh!”
“Beneath a bowler cap upon a saucer full of
Secrets a gift, my friend the Master Chiefs
Severed head!”
“You have been reacting but that isn’t how you
Should be acting G!”
“The key to me is a tune out of key,
Nick of time, he keeps it, the Beat. There
Is sense to my non-sense, the magic and
Mystery of Emily at play, try like a
Child. Kneel Young isn’t old, he is a child
Of god with a heart of gold. Kneel to enter
The kingdom of god, you have to share
A child's perspective to get in!”
“A rebel without a cause, plays and
Receives applause. Ask him what it all means
And you’ll think him mad. . . If it’s so
Important to you ask Mr. Natural, it
Don’t mean shit! Isn’t that supernatural? It’s
Magic Matilda Mother!”
“Words are magic, Pow R Toc H. If you want
Power Talk, if you want to live just keep
Talking! Keep it tall, hell is small talk!”
“No one spun my gears, ship is fueled up but
Some fool has set its controls for the
Heart of the Sun! Who overwound me, this
Trip gives me jitters, my heart is in
Interstellar overdrive! I had to go solo man
And ended up Solar man!”
“My riddles are just a joke with changing answers,
Did you get it yet? Its ok, we don’t have to
Record this one, no one writes these songs and
No one is listening anyway!”
“I became a book of songs, a gentle genre
Generator whose echos lasted generations!”
“This is the Great Gig in the Sky, on my cloud
Harping on and on, shining in the silence,
Don’t be frightened of dying, such a soft feather
Bed I have found!”
“Joy and suffering are identical, ask
Your Mother!”
“Her birth of you and your berth of
Me are the same thing, it brought me
Joy and suffering but don’t worry I took
It in stride and went for a walk on
The wild side.”
Thank you Nick Mason, I hope you see this. If parts of it don’t make sense it may be because I was in the throes of psychosis, Syd is about the only person I ever understood. He was so cool that fool on the hill. I will revisit this poem for the rest of my life adding to it anything else I gleam when I see him shoot by on those sun beams.

not bad for a cover band...
No more a "cover band" than Roger's endless rehashing of The Wall or his Us and Them tour. I'm quite certain if David goes on the road again he will be the only original member in a band doing Floyd songs.
I'm so happy to hear Nick paying tribute to pre Dark Side material. Got my tickets for Feb 2022 in KC.
Technically not a cover band as you have an original member playing.
Guess he has to pay for his lavish car collection somehow #rehasholdtat
The challenges of meeting eye to eye the chess board is set time is not to rush to make the next move one's tactics will only succeed with wit and percussion persistence and the will of GOD may they succeed
Why does Guy Pratt insist on ruining Lucifer Sam EVERY TIME. All that "we are siamese if you please" crap. He doesn't even get the phrasing of "Lucifer" right on the last verse. GUY, Lucifer Sam is not a piece of fluff, it's not just a throw away song. If you are bored singing it, why not let someone else do it. You know, someone who gives a shit. It's one of my favourite early Floyd songs and you just vomit all over it. Get over yourself.
That really how you feel?
I'm going to go back and listen. Could you reply with an example of a superior version?
I totally concur, kinda cheesy and disrespectful to the legend of Syd. On another note, this version of Obscured by Clouds kicks arse, more tripped out than the original with the spaced out synth. Keep rockin fellow Floyd nerds. 😵
Syd would turn in his grave x
I appreciate you posting this, but the Fucking commercials ruin it! Thanks anyway
I really dislike this. They botch most of the songs.
Seems that they're trying to appeal to folks who've gathered to hear an agreed upon "Floyd" sound. I don't know much about the original tracks, but that's what I suspect, anyway.
Seems each member has made a Barrett apology at some point. Seems it's Nick's turn.
More I read up, more Barrett seems to be a regular Natalie Wood.
I think these guys were fucking animals to the guy. Like a car full of passengers screaming at a preacher with hands glued to the steering wheel:
"Drive to a strip club!!!"
I'm sure they helped ply him.
Wanted to catch that rocket ride.
Think they've broadly dismissed it as "Boys will be boys" shit in their elder years, but let's be real.
PINK Floyd
Arnold Layne?
"Emily tires, but misunderstands... inclined to borrow someone else's dreams"
Spent days 'pretending' to be gay.
This poor bastard chased himself right of his own head.
Couldn't REALLY admit to being gay - and absent that, who in their right mind would quit Floyd?
He couldn't NOT be himself when that light got put on him, and he surely couldn't be somebody else.
Homeboy checked out.
I bet they all know it, too.
Just don't want to ruin the brand.
Just toss the poor bastard a karma bone once, and again, amidst tap dancing on his head... LOL.
I hope Barrett makes balloon animals in their nightmares.
While they're all seated on metal folding chairs, in an endless fluorescent lit room with water stained drop tile and far as the eye can see.
No eyebrows, shit in his pants. Handing off an animal and screaming "Have you got it, now?"
Tater belly.
In department store clothes with feminine prints, bought by his mom.
Fucking place smells like moth balls.
Now and again, roach runs up their ankle.
That. Forever.
Fuck 'em.
Anywho...
They just flaten the ugly LowFi 60s hippie style sound. Most tracks are way bettr than the album version in my opinion. More Powerful.
