Her tips on preparing ahead of time are great for those of us caught in the rat race of life. Plan time to slow down and enjoy simple pleasures.

You should see Rabbi Tovia Singer's UA-cam channel and understand why Jews read the Bible differently and also learn how you as a nonjew can fulfill your role in creating the tikkun olam, world to come, that G-d wants when the messiah comes.
G-d created a covenant with the nonjews starting with Noah where nonjews have 7 sets of laws to follow. Later, G-d made the covenant with the Jews and gave them 613 laws. Jews and nonjews each have a unique role to play in G-d's redemption of the world.

Absolutely make things that only you like as well as foods that your family likes, and I’ve been know to make the things that one or two that kids like. Our Christmas table will have smaller foods that certain people/ peoples like. I also try to make a little extras of what we each like so I have left overs if what I like, my husband likes, and the kids can take their leftovers home.

Sonya hi!!! Love your recipes and organization. A tip you will thank me for. Put the eggplants on the fire with aluminum foil. It comes out toasted and fire roasted also and keeps your gas clean. Believe it or not I learnt this from channah.. Jars of fireflies..

    • @SonyasPrep
      @SonyasPrep  Рік тому +1

I actually grew up doing it this way too but learned that the aluminum releases a lot of toxins when heated, so I stopped.

I love your videos. I always learn something. I would be very interested in learning about the blessing of the bread you did. I think it is very important to fix something special for yourself. We always make sure to fix our loved ones favorites, so we need to do the same for ourselves. Tomorrow night’s supper is going to be one of my favorites. Everyone else is just okay with it. I fix their favorites on a regular basis, so I don’t feel like I am asking that much from them to have one of mine once every month or two. I pray you have a blessed week and and a wonderful Shabbat this week.

i grew up kosher but my husband and i are not kosher in our home but kosher style. We never ever mix meat and dairy and our kids grew up this way, no milk at meals, no cheeseburgers etc..healthy and love it...also i grew up with that exact eggplant dish . My grandmother would make it along with pickled green peppers and my mother made those and now i make them, only i eat those 2 dishes but they are part of who i am. My kids do love eggplant, just not a fan of the charbroiled style. Love your videos and thank you for sharing your recipes...i will be making challah for my family...im sure theyll love it! ( it is very difficult to be Kosher in an area where very few Jewish people live , we are far out into the boonies..so we do our best)

You seem to like pickled salads. Here is a recipe with white cabbage:
    Ingredients:
500 grams Shredded cabbage (1,1 pound)
½ deciliter of oil (0,21 cup)
    ½ deciliter Water (0,21 cup)
    3 tbsp vinegar (white)
    ½ tsp salt
    ground black pepper
Oregano or other Italian salad seasoning mix. Is optional
Boil water and pour over the cabbage (repeated the procedure and pour over boiling water from the kettle twice) to soften it a little. My version is that I let the shredded cabbage sit in hot water for a few minutes and then I strain it. Let the cabbage cool.
Mix the other ingredients in a large bowl and then stir in the cabbage when it has cooled, mix thoroughly. Season with salt if desired.
Leave in the fridge, preferably a day before serving. The pizza salad keeps well in the fridge for several days.
    Thanks for a wonderful channel.
I forgot to say that we Swedes call it pizza salad, we eat it with pizza. This salad also works with other foods. We can also have finely sliced red bell pepper in it.
