- This is a quick snippet of the process to create PVC patch hats for Alkerton Call Co. These patches are made with an adhesive backing similar to a sticker, we can then temporarily apply the patch to a hat so it stays in place while it is permanently sewn on.

Where’d you get patch made
Donde consigo ese pegante para parches pvc?
Se puede pegar con algun pegamento los parches de goma?
What sewing machine is that
This is a Techsew 810. I have the pro kit with the speed reducer, flatbed attachment, etc.
@@sausagedoghatsis it possible to apply the patches as an appliqué with an embroidery machine? Or too difficult to ensure the stitch stays is the recessed channel?
@@Buddog33 just seeing this now! If you haven’t already found your answer I know that some people do use an embroidery machine to do it but I would imagine unless you’ve really dialled in the embroidery process that it would be pretty difficult to set up properly.
What size was your patch?
This one is approximately 2.5" high by 2.17" wide.
Do you have a speed reducer on your machine?
Yes. I highly recommend it especially if you’re new to sewing by, it comes in handy when learning. I can go a lot faster now but it is still super useful in tight areas to be able to basically do one stitch at a time nice and slowly and adjust between stitches if need be.
What sewing machine are you using?
This is a Techsew 810.
what size thread or type of thread is that
It’s Amann Strongbond. And the size is either Tex 70 or Tex 90, I don’t remember which size I used for this one.
You can sew and heat press too?
There are some companies that sell PVC patches with backing to apply with a heat press. I personally would never do heat applied PVC but I have seen a lot of people heat applying all types of patches. I would only do it if absolutely necessary or in the case where I am doing an actual transfer (silicone, screen printed, DTF, etc.) or it is an incredibly complex shape that can’t feasibly be sewn. Sewing patches on is better for the longevity of the product.
Hi, what size of needle are you using ?
I believe size 18. Thread is either Tex 70 or 90 I can’t remember what I used on these.
What kind of sewing machine is that?
This is a post bed sewing machines. The particular brand and model is the Techsew 810.
Question? We’re can I buy a machine that does the Rubber patches ? Or what’s the name of them ??
Are you looking for a machine that makes the patches or to sew them on? This sewing machine is a techsew 810 post bed machine. As for the equipment to make the patches I am not sure if it has a specific name. I do not make these patches in house, I am sure the equipment to make them is very expensive, plus you need to have a custom Mold made for each new design as well as an oven to cure them in.

I have been trying to find this 3m pvc material for a while but could you help thanks.
Your best bet is going to be to find some large patch manufacturers and see if they offer PVC patches. I don’t think there are very many that actually manufacture them in North America though (not sure where you’re from), so there is a good chance that they would end up coming from overseas even if you ordered them domestically. The other option that will be more cost effective would be to find a reliable overseas supplier.
Yes we manufacturing all types of pvc patches.

@@interestingtv254 where are you from?
I wanna know how could I start this
Buy a post bed sewing machine, find a good patch manufacturer/supplier, and get some wholesale accounts with blank apparel distributors to get your hats from. Finding customers is the hardest part at the beginning.
It wasn't me but, thanks a lot @@sausagedoghats
What is this type of patch called?
These are PVC patches.
