- Translating Old Avestan, Teaching Our Faith, and the Struggles and Responsibilities of a Modern Mazdayasni.
Pablo Vazquez, Zoroastrian scholar, theologian, host of "Zoroastrian Q&A", and translator of "The Sacred Gathas of Zarathushtra & the Old Avestan Canon", as they discuss their discoveries, insights, irks, and challenges in not just translating Old Avestan, the very words of Zarathushtra, but also in teaching the faith internationally in academic and non-academic settings and how popular and misinformed discourse sometimes disproportionally influences our community. Pablo will also discuss the challenges and duties of a Mazdayasni in the modern world and what makes our faith so adaptable and ready to answer the challenges we all face in these days and the future. They will also be happy to answer any questions the beloved Zoroastrian community and other attendees have for them about the faith and will have copies of their Old Avestan translations for sale and signing.

@32:00 Catholics don't accept Sola Scriptura or Sola Fidei (those are protestants doctrines). It is true, however, that scripture and sacred tradition are put on par as the two basic expressions of the Christian revelation.
Is meat consumption against Zoroastrian ethics or not? Even if Zoroastrians do eat meat, is it wrong?
It's all made up. You can eat whatever you want whenever you want 🤘
Only on certain days of the year. Overall, it’s a personal choice.
The irony of making Zoroastrianism into an ethnic cult the way the Parsi does is brutal. Doing that means you have completely misunderstood Zoroasters message.
Us Western Zoroastrians, with a long tradition stretching back to Ancient Rome even, are alien to the Parsi and, quite frankly, at vehement odds with them simply for being who we are. We read and derive inspiration from the same holy scriptures as they, it's our art. Zarathushtra/Zoroaster is our prophet/sage in our art. I appreciate their art but they lie about who Zarathushtra is and what he's said/done. I hope one day we can all just shake hands, be at peace as relatives, share knowledge even, I'm sure it can be done.
Religion is only for Rich people in my opinion. There is nothing called RELIGION. Everything is Money. Religion is ONLY MONEY in my opinion. Thanks 🙏
