That Carl guy did a heck of a job. He did better than 90% of the people that fix potholes in the nation. I have travelled the nation and talked to people across it that do this work, that Carl guy was concerned, engaged and amazing. I have no idea what or where this city is; but, love the idea that the city manager actually is learning his city. Every mayor or city manager should have to know what goes in to their most important services. Love the fact this guy bothered to do it. Did he keep his job? Was he any good at it? What happened to this guy?
Love when the higher ups try and get all “hands on” with the workers. They’re so clueless about everything.
This show is actually such a great idea, also the city app is a great idea. Well done Edina 10/10 community service
"We try our hardest" Spent like 10 seconds flattening it lol.
Why are you guys criticizing the way my neighbor city fills potholes? There are thousands, and just one is a major improvement.
This is quality work, where I live they fix potholes by making bumps, they put so much asphalt in it and don't flatten it that it makes bumps, so when you ride on them it feels like a horse ride jumping all over.
Why dont they show the truth. Stop at the corner store get a 40 of beer, have a smoke break, have lunch, have a smoke break, stop for another 40 of beer, you get the point.
Isn’t that Detroit... you must watch a lot of UA-cam....
@gaskan666
WTF I work for the street maintenance service in Germnay and we do nothing as well, maby cutting some gras then do nothing drink some coffe have a lunch, then break time and im done for the day XD
Omg. I used to work for cdot, and all that happens is:
1. Wait for Call
2. Look at whatever happened
3. Fix it
4. Get beer, get hot dogs, and nap
I've yet to see a pot hole where I live be fixed properly, first rain or snow fall and it's game over.
If it's done correctly with hot mix it should last forsure more than a year, I've seen some Public works use a cold mix which fails very fast especially in a very wet environment
@@calidream9273 Yeah I work in public works in the midwest. Hot asphalt is the standard but the cold mix crap is used for a temporary fix during the winter. If we load the cold mix in a pro patcher truck like the one used here and actually get the mix hot it does pretty decent if you tamp it down really well like he does here. If you use a hand tamper odds out the hole will be back the next day.
I have never seen so many comments from people who do not work in the industry. This is the standard procedure used at most cities. Other than kicking the edges in a little more, he did what he was supposed to do.
Bruh Pennsylvania needs this. We look drunk driving whenever we’re sober.
1:14 "I see you here holding an Ipad, I didn't really expect to see that today. So how does an Ipad help help you do your job?"
*It lets me look at my favourite memes on the go*
Have you see the video “slacking on the job”, sound interesting .
Love these actors .. especially when they’re not the actual worker
Haris OST I love you I love you I love you you all
Awesome video.
Apparently this is the only town in the U.S. that has pothole repair people because my town has huge creators in the middle of every street
You didn't put out the safety cones
Lebrun Jemz you are correct he has about 7 cones on the truck
They didn't need it they had safety lights on
Dan McFee they are not safety lights they are beacons
Hello Apples cones are only used for busy roads
Even though the person you have to make more money 💴🇾🇪🇾🇪🇾🇪🇾🇪🇾🇪🇾🇪🇾🇪⛸🇧🇧⛸🚵♂️🚵♂️🚵♂️🚵♂️🇧🇧🇧🇧🇧🇧🏓🏓🏓🚵♂️🚵♂️🚵♂️🚵♂️⚽️⚽️🏋🏼♀️🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑
thats not an ipad...
Beltontx101 same
Anže Štempihar freerrrrreerttt
Some people use ipad as a general term for tablets. Kinda like q-tip or xerox
@SpongeBob SquarePants Morton no its not. lol. Look at the close up and you will see its a Microsoft windows device.
Its a surface
We need this in Chicago
You don't want to pull the tamper backwards, it can push your mix out. Let the tamper go off the patch and turn it around.
Lmao at all the removed comments
I'm subscribed to you jt
That alone earns a thumbs down for the video.
Mister Hat but all those HARD working MEN and women
Go play blackout, what are you doing here
I like their Canadian accents
Hahahaha I love the way these guys talk
Great job
"This mix is not really good mix" ...brought to you by your friendly neighbourhood taxpayers who didn't get to pick the RIGHT mix.
These guys have no idea how to fix a pothole. I am ashamed and shocked.
You'll get over it
No wander why they don't last should cut a box section and fill that with macadam instead of just filling it
Yeah, agreed, but all in all it extends the asphalt overall life. As the company name says, it's a "patch", later on (10 year later) the idea is resurface the whole track or street. And that patch is small and shallow, here in the "wonderful" city of Manaus at this "amazing" country called Brazil we have huge gaps and deep holes, that are patched the same way. Our mayor likes to play whack-a-hole with potholes :P
Bruno de Oliveira
Good video & nice neighborhood
anyone else get satisfied when the blower started immediately
I was thinking the same thing.
Is that enough to repair cracks and holes? I saw this small vibration machines on sidewalks, but on roads only big and heavy roller machines or a bit smaller rollers.
i love this
I have an aunt from Minnesota and I LOVE the accent. Rain and Snoooow
YAAAAAA
They need to come to Britain
True
5:01 my guy sprays half the street with tack LOL, also these arent even close to pot holes.... i was looking for at least half a foot deep and 2 feet wide
DinoRaf RBLX
He did that to prevent it from getting bigger
the first guy at 3:40 barely even put a dot of tar down
1:17 lol. The guy is like “this is a Samsung tablet.... not an iPad.”
Thanks
So crazy all the sterling trucks hard at work, you can't get anymore...
India requires this type of initiative
Man! This show is awesome! I am ashamed on how in Russian cities and villages the repair is made :( I would like to work like you! Too bad Russian TV has no similar shows where you can see different job opportunities which correspond to highest standards of XXI century!
6:00.. "you mean I'm doing the work of 3 guys?" When you got a city job!
3 man job haha govt work.
"we try our hardest" lmfao
Should see the roads in Maine. New roads here usually need patch work within 2/3 years MAX. At 10 years, it's basically gravel. Lol (Some roads do last though. Not many, but some. )
7:53 7:54 the way he said snow, I knew it was Minnesota.
Looks fun
You guys are so nice

Edina TV so PIN YOUR RULES
Great job come to my city they fill pot holes in the middle od winter thats how bad it gets
gotta flat shovel the edges down to the original asphalt then pack, it makes it so there is no bump when you drive over it
sealing is most important. tar on top, then sand.
Legend has it soon after this video they dug it right out
Interesting approach to filling a pothole but doing it the way shown is only a very short term fix.
If you look carefully at the road surface you will see previous patched areas, surrounded by degraded surface, which will crack away. This creates an "island" patched of previously repaired road.
You need to cut back to a solid edge and then tack and fill.
Rubbish job won't last 5 minutes.

So true got a lovely pothole that was patched just a few weeks ago and you guessed it all the patch material is gone and the hole is back. Sad thing is the road was only completely relaid 6 months ago..

Bruno de Oliveira qqqqqqqq qqqq
Wow If only the council bought one of these then maybe they would fill the pot hole on my street that’s been there since 1958
Come to Barbados and do that 🇧🇧🇧🇧🇧🇧🇧🇧🇧🇧🇧🇧🇧🇧
Edina I thought it was 'a diner' 😂
I subscribed
Make a rectangle of asphalt over the pothole so the cracks around old pothole forms a new one
The UK is the most scandalous at road works scams
...must admit...a patch is all it is but agree doing it properly wouldn't take much more time...says it all when the novice does just as good a job as the skilled worker...
someone should show this to TxDOT...
John L someone should show this to Corpus Christi, lol
Hi, can you please provide a link t o that app please?
Never seen any pothole worker actually do there job ever, and most don’t in all honesty if you look up investigations and such
come to Barbados now please 😊😂
Is there a special University you have to attend for four years to qualify for a job like that?
mit trades school
What am I doing with my life...
Hahahaha this pothole is a joke. That would qualify as smooth where I am from (before the patch)
Hi I'm Carl and I'm from Minnesooooooota
When u fix allogatoring u either have to use alligator crack filler or excavate are and the area and patch it
Ez job I would like to work in there
Wgsy the name of that kinda work... also it looks chill
I like this video
This type of repair? I think it would hold better with duct tape or newspaper over it.
optimusprimo2012 flex tape or flex glue
Where I live it is just put asphalt in the hole, it’s a one person job under 10 seconds
Did you see that! 2:49 only 5 leaves on the entire ground... and they were all in the pothole!
this Is how u fill and fix a pot hole wayne county take notes u guys should do it like this.

Edina TV we have the right to speak of about government.
You do indeed have that right, But this channel has the right to remove your comment and or ban you from the channel if they want to, Just like if you went into a Walmart and you did something Walmart didn't like they could throw you out because it's private property, It's basically the same here but this is not a physical location.
I wonder why they don’t activate the rear light bar
I searched for a video that I thought couldn't possibly have angry comments. let me get the popcorn
Carl ain't filled a pot hole since last promotion lol

Edina TV u suck
Good job
This guy should be fired
Name Anonymous yeah Scott should get fired
Why?
No safety glasses...that will come out very quickly as no side wall bonding.. 3/6 months max needs a saw cut and primer to really bond the material...this is a basic repair and he will be returning very soon to repair again.
OMG ! Are we still living in 1950's ? No wonder after they filled it, it came back after 3 weeks ! Can they learn from other countries ?
Exactly how Canadian is Carl?
Big up the UK NRSWA massive....
It would be a greater city if the roads were built properly in the first place.
Build the road the right way the first time
asphalt is a by product of oil! BP told me that years ago!
220 Is way too cold to be hot mix lol hot mix is normally around 290-350
Hey I have so many pot holes where I live so these guys don't do there job cuz I've lived here for seven years an those potholes havnt being fixt
hes a firefighter i saw the fire pager us volunteer firefighters use lol
I don’t even think we have pit hole repairs in the UK
That first pothole won’t last past the first winter. You need to cut the hole out into a square and fill it that way and than tar the edges after dampening it down..
There’s no way all those leaves where in that pothole meanwhile the street was clear of leaves
Stop the cheap patches and fix the damn roads!
Come to West plains mo
Lmao ! Freeze and unthaw is the same meaning. Wow
