Seeing these pedals into a clean really shows their character much more...that mid boost and sweep knob would be huge powerful into any dirt channel... excellent pedal 💯
This pedal sounds better with the style that Lari plays. It does sound the same as lots of other distortion pedals when it’s a low tuned guitar just playing basic demo riffs and chords. Goes to show much of it is in the hands, and how I can achieve a similar sound with the pedals I already own. The purple is a nice color though! And Lari is a beast on the guitar! That being said, I would love to own the violet and I’ll still with my AT+ for the harder riffage.
Perhaps it's currently the best JHS's distortion / overdrive pedal. Dirt well balanced with a clean sound. I'm assuming this padel runs dirt and clean in parallel. It's a great modern sounding pedal.
I'm not really a distortion pedal kinda guy, I'm more of an edge of breakup with a Strat Dude. I have watched other reviews of this including yours and I think if I ever do buy another distortion pedal, it will be this one. Lari was able to get a Morning Glory tone out of it too.
Would probably sound better into a scrunchy kind of clean channel, just shy of edge of breakup, where it's clean played softly, but breaks up when you dig in, with an overdrive or something like an OCD or RAT in front of it as a boost.
Oh dude, pronunciation of her name is NOT difficult. It's basic respect and due diligence to get it right and you (excuse the pun) totally FLUFFED it. Please do better next time.
@ my problem is saying putting out the same stuff we have seen countless times before is bad? Why have a thousand drives based off the tubescreamer that doesn’t break any walls than have one unique drive that is completely different than any other drive that came before it. Yeah if you want to just keep pumping out the same stuff sure go ahead but you are not changing anything.
@@OctoberSodahow often does a truly new circuit come out especially as far as drives and boosts go, you got soft clipping, hard clipping , diodes and or led or op amps. I understand what you’re saying as far as the market is saturated with drives that do pretty much the same thing and it would be cool to see something completely different as long as it sounds good but just different to be different is not necessarily good. These new dirt boxes sound much better than the stuff I had coming up , but guitarists are tinkerers and collectors by nature there’s people who probably just collect drives to collect them and only use an SD1 or Blues driver most of the time. I have an OCD and an SD1 if I had bought the sd1 first I probably would’ve never gotten the OCD , I do like the OCD and it’s different than my SD1 but I could get close enough with the SD1 . I don’t get boutique drives but people buy them up .
How the hell can you say that it sounds like a TubeScreamer ??? Have you ever own one, played one, heard one ? Plus, here the midrange control is happening before the drive, which is unusual. But you are a droid if because this pedal as the same pots layout as the PG-14 or the Hard Drive you think it's the same pedal. They even did a video showing back to back these pedals, knowing people like you would say that kind of shit... @@OctoberSoda

Watching Fluff and Leon Todd at work 👍💰
Uh... ok then. So this things sounds insanely good with every knob at noon going into a clean amp. I was NOT expecting that.
It's versatile, that's the selling point

It's got a desert rock vibe. I did not expect that.
Sounds like an angry Charlie that they put the mid sweep function from the hard drive on.

Manly pedal you got there

Would love to see you do a video on the Meteora. Fender has released some really cool models lately.
Hey fluff, you need to check out the movall jumpspace, its 20$ and might be the most versatile od you will ever try
what drums plugin are you using?
It looks similar to the hard drive pedal JHS offers. What are the differences?

LA-rea Ba-ZEA-leo. (The *As* in La and Ba are like the _a in father_ , the *Is* are like the _ea in seat_ ).
Thanks, been wondering how to properly pronounce her name
It's not a typical distortion or overdrive pedal, but a very interesting pedal. I would use it in the effects return to optimise the sound I like.
Great demo of a «generic chugless » pedal .
It sounds horrible.
Yep this pedal would have dominated the nu metal wave.
I've heard worse, but too many less expensive pedals on the market. I would choose the JHS 3 series over this.
thanks for the demo, won't be grabbing this anytime soon.
Is the noise floor as low as it seems?

Not so impressive, like many other dirt boxes
Unfortunately very generic and boring wish JHS made more unique pedals than what they’ve been doing lately.
You’re problem is thinking generic or not unique is bad.

@ you need to chill out. I did not say this was a tubscreamer. Reread what I wrote.
