The little details make the best scenes! The fact that they used the order of pokemon that Buried Alived had correctly is astounding, and even Missingno fighting him is technically cannon in the creepypasta too! Thus is one of the best songs in the mod, let alone in the community

AMAZING work dude. Sad to see this mod "cancelled" (cause all it's missing is options and a gallery) the way it did. Also, the Missingno introduction at 2:10 made me jump outta my seat cause of not only the awesome music you made, but also the way everything was done, musically AND visually.

there's going to be an official restored version, for now it fixes the progression so you can get the missingno disc and purin and it adds the options menu

Buried Alive was my first exposure to creepypastas (and later, actual horror) so it has a special place in my heart. Even if it scared the crap out of me when I was 11
This song was an "eh, it's a neat song" the first time I heard it, but the more I listen to it, the more it grows on me. I think the main reason I love it so much is that it's like this mod's version of Triple Trouble. Not that I think Triple Trouble is fantastic or anything, because I don't; I feel like its charm went away when too many covers of it were made. The thing is, Brimstone is essentially doing what Triple Trouble did, with the 4 different opponents and the longer-than-usual runtime for the song, but instead of making it yet another Triple Trouble cover to add to the vast pile of Triple Trouble covers - which would be too easy to do - it was made into its own thing and given another tone and feel, making it feel like a Pokémon battle instead. And I have a lot of respect for it for that. It's doing the same thing, yet changing it up and being more unique, and I always applaud creativity like that. 🙂

I really don't want this to come off rude, but it feels like the vocal changes were made not out of benefit to the song, but to make it different from the leaked version, I dont know they just feel so incredibly minor and that gengar laugh was definitely less smooth of a transition than v1 of the song. I will say though Muk's part was definitely a dramatic improvement
I agree entirely. I think the v1 vocals were better, altho tbh they got really repetitive. I think these changes were pretty meh though. Instrumental being changed up a bit is a plus though.
Totally agree with the gengar part as that was wayyyyyyy smoother. However they made the final GF and buried alive part SOOOOOOO MUCH BETTER especially the instrumental.

Remasters/updates tend to screw up the vocals for literally no reason, guess they feel obliged to try and make them "better", pisses me off personally
My only full complaint is Gengars laugh, not as nice

This song fixated in my mind the headcanon that MissingNo is like Nominal Dingus' view of Majin Sonic, interrupting other characters in the mod (and in my view, probably mocking them for not being canon, but just some made up stories). This really makes the situation feel a lot less dreadful than it's, and makes sense he's there since White Hand makes a crossover in the original Buried Alive story anyways, so why not invite himself?

I'd really like to see Brimstone get a few tweaks. Using the leaked Build's build-up toward Gengar's introduction and Leaked Build's GF Vocals. Other than that, perfect! One of my all time favourites.
I think the weird part of this mod's cancellation is it was so close to completion it may as well be Star Fox 2.

I love everything about this song. Buried Alive and Bf sound like people arguing over meta strategies and just being toxic, and constantly interrupt each other. Gengar has its own moment, which is much different than Buried Alive's, implying it's very devious and evil. Missigno and Gengar both give each other breathing room and don't interupt each other (if they do, it's not very often). Muk also has its own verse, but it's not as devious as Gengar. The White Hand pretending to Gf tries to slow it done and make Bf dall to his knees, but Bf just too stupid to understand it. Finally, it all ends with one last push, but Buried Alive loses, somehow.

Nobody is probably ever going to see this but at one point I was ruminating on the idea of a D-Side version of Brimstone. I'm not much of a composer or artist though, so I don't think I'd ever be able to make it happen.
Set in Johto instead of Kanto, specifically the Burned Tower instead of the Lavender Tower; Pokemon Crystal was my game of choice when I was a kid.
Buried Alive -> Burned Alive, the spirit of a monk at the Brass Tower before it burned down, who helped to evacuate the people and Pokemon there but ultimately got trapped and died in the process. Instead of being a malicious zombie like Buried, Burned is an ascetic spirit reliving the pain of his death for eternity.
Gengar -> Misdreavus, introducing itself with a shrill scream rather than a laugh in reference to its dex entry.
Muk -> Weezing, with Koffing being one of the Pokemon present in the tower in all versions. While Muk uses Sludge Bomb as a distraction, Weezing instead steadily fills the playing field with Smog that inflicts health drain.
Missingno. -> (glitched) Celebi, referencing the Celebi Egg Glitch that could allow players of GSC to get Celebi without an event.
Presumably White Hand/fake GF would be essentially the same, I can't find any good analogues for those.

This song sounds so engaging and cool, but I do wonder how it was going to be in hard mode since I recall a dev team member saying that brimstone hard mode has going to be the hardest song. But anyways good song Innue, it was my fav since the leaked build.
hard mode was referring to “Hell Mode” which is something in the mods in-game settings. search up “Brimstone (Hell Mode)” and it’ll show you how hard it’s supposed to be.
If no one has figured out why White Hand becomes a form of GF, its because its a callback to a video of the fight where it uses Transform. Thing just snatched a memory from BF and used it against him. I like that touch, cause where the song ends with white hand as the final part, same thing happens in the buried alive fight, if im not mistaken.
