Philips would have won the round as LARQ is nearly double the price
If Larq had usb c I would have been sold, so probably going for Philips one
I bought the phillips bottle and it broke after a month. Moisture got inside the uv light unit and the light started malfunctioning until the product stopped working altogether. Total waste of money. Others have reported the same online.
I get very annoyed with companies that try to sell their products with misleading information.
The bottle (500ml PureVis) holds 500ml, but if you fill it with exactly that volume, you won't be able to put the cap on. And if you read the manual you will see the text "Fill with clear water up to the indicator line". And that line is about 10mm above the Larq logo on the bottle. Yes, the line that lies far below the bottleneck. So the volume you can fill the bottle and get it working is around 370ml (which is 26% less than the stated 500ml). They never tell any buyer that, so most users are probably using this bottle incorrectly...

Does the philips contain mercury? I kinda thought that was necessary to make UV, all the UV steripens contain it, but I guess Larq doesn't. I can't find any information about if Philips does.

Both products have almost the same features. We recommend Larq if you are more likely to use it during travel or in the office. While Philips is more likely to be used outdoors when camping or hiking. Also, Larq is quite pricey than Philips.
Rather choose the cheaper one Philips. Since there Tech is identical and the philips is half the price.
I went with Phillips uv c
I did also. Better bargain from a trusted brand with similar features at half the price.
