    You can learn more about the Oase BiOrb Air 60 here: www.biorb.com/...
    These terrariums were set up for a contest at Aquashella Chicago, a US aquarium convention that happens twice a year. The terrariums were set up and designed by US aquascapers and represent a more artistic design than you might see elsewhere. These setups were housed in seven Oase Biorb Air 60 terrariums. These large orbs are designed to regulate the climate inside their individual spheres, regularly watering the plants inside. In addition, a small automated fan in the hood keeps air flowing through the setup. Finally, the lights turn on and off on a standard 24-hour cycle.

    Seeing these makes me sad that Aquashella was canceled last year. Really missing in-person interactions with fish nerds 😭 Great job capturing the scapes as well... MINT footage dude!

      Amazing scape Tanner! I really like the look of the spike moss on the right of your setup.

    I think that Tanner Serpa's design was the best! I really liked the fern in the bottom right and all of the epiphytes growing on the branches.

    Tanner Serpa’s design felt like a masterclass of using all space provided while never neglecting the needs of any of the scape. It was a wonderful execution of skill. My favorite by far.

    Tanner Serpa's is the best. The other designers seemed to struggle with scaping an orb, leaving too much negative space or being too concerned about the edges.

    Seems so long ago we completed these. I remember John and I trying to glue some
    Wood together and the entire bottle cap fell off and I did the entire scape with glued together fingers. I think Tanners and Hieps/Jason’s are two of the best.

    i personally like the 5th orb, done by Bono and pini. you called it when you said it was fully using the space without it being overtly dense. It has a great mix of tectures and sies and such but it could use more colrvariettion.

    You had me at "burgundy bromeliad. Blue stone is also something that attracts me.
    But, as far as the complete picture goes, #5, with its analogue to Mr. Amato's "Nature Aquarium" is my favorite. It is a slice of nature, exhibiting both growth and decay.
    And . . . bromeliads! While not burgundy, they still are favorites of mine,

    Hey Alex ~ Beautiful presentation. If I had to pick a winner it would be Scape 7 (Tanner), but with Scape 1 (Chicago) a very close second place. The first image you show of scape 1 is picture perfect. The wood is used to full effect with a nice sense of elevation. 3rd place for me is Scape 2. It has the most naturalistic feel. It’s a bit chaotic (in a good way), much like you’d encounter in nature.

  • @flowstate1472
    @flowstate1472 3 роки тому

    The Chicago Plant Society tank is definitely my favorite. It is the most balanced in terms of plants and use of space, has the best transitions from the floor into the scape, and the wood was used to create some nice angles that are pleasing to the eye. Like many here, I like Tanner Serpa's work, but this one was not his best in my opinion.

    Excellent video as usual, one complaint is the pronunciation of "seiryu", "sayryu", not "searyu". I know it's a common mis-pronunciation, but you are so careful with your annunciation all the time and it just is a bit grating to hear it mispronounced everywhere in the U.S.
