      I have a 1oz “gold” buffalo that was a fake someone tried to come to a store and sell. Wouldn’t you hate for a collector to buy one of these only to find out it was faked? It happens every day.. crooked people disgust me

    SpegTacular I just purchased the basic version of this machine (with two wands) for my own personal use, mostly due to my watching your videos. I think the Sigma machine, along with my rare earth magnet slide and digital scale will help me avoid 99% of counterfeits. Thank you.

    I ended up here after watching your new video today... "Almost $2000 spent on precious metals at a coin shop". In the video you are using the smaller home version of the machine so I had to search and check it out. These things are seriously cool!

    Great Video! Well informed! And i hope all Coin Shops check all there coins before buying or selling them. And if customers have a few coins that need to be checked, if they wouldn't mind checking them.

    Hey Spegtacular, I know no one would take the time to fake copper but I am really curious about a quirk with the Sigma Verifier Pro. I bought some copper from one of the mints. I bought 1 oz, 2 oz and 5 oz rounds. The 1 oz and the 2 oz tested perfectly but all the 5 oz rounds fell to the right into the red. I was just wondering what could cause this. Why the difference? What do you think?

  • @stephenparsons4398

    Great video. A limitation seems to be you have to know what you’re testing for. It can verify but not identify.

      You may want to call or email the company for that info. Generally there are presets (like .999 fine silver) where you’ll place the item under the sensor to identify whether or not it is what it claims to be.

    That Pamp bar is much too thick for a 1-ounce bar so its an obvious fake, even without the Metalytics tester. Great video though :-)

    • @Spegtacular
      @Spegtacular  4 роки тому

      You and I know that at a glance but many people won't. There's also many better fakes out there that make it nearly impossible to tell at a glance.

    • @jeffw1267

      It's $2000 if you get the external bridge with it, which can measure large bars like 100 oz. silver bars. If I'm going to pay $1300 then I might as well pay $2000. An ounce of gold costs almost that much.

    Did the owner of the company tell you they don’t guarantee the results. I have a slab gold buffalo and my meter shows it to be real and the gun at my local coin shop shows not even a tiny bit of gold in it ... and the owner of the company emails back and tells me that this is not a 100% accurate proof and should not be used as the only test.

    Do you know why the 90% US silver coins are divided into three different groups by years (pre-1900, 1900-1945, and 1945-)?
    I thought that all 90% US silver coins regardless of the year are the same alloy mixture (90%silver and 10% copper).
