Hi! I just want to say that you just earned a subscriber for life. I have an sv650s model and I live in the desert where it never rains. I got caught in a light rain and when ridding back my bike died. It’d turn back on but wouldn’t change stay on and didn’t change into any gears without shutting down. I knew it had to be water related but for the life of me couldn’t figure out what was wrong. It’s up and running now but now I know why!!!
Good vid comparison. Will be useful for undecided between two. Silver frame and wheels are the best. With silver or copper main colour those are the greatest looking versions.
I will say that I did miss something that a lot of people have noted about the dual spark plug design. The main intention of the dual spark plug design was for emissions purposes. 🙂👍🏼
@@PASSIONBUILT thanks for the reply. Definitely love it! Loving your vids too. Just watched the one about the drain hole. Great stuff! Will be keeping a eye on that 👍🏻
Cool as, but the twin sparks are not for that issue, it was an emissions reduction idea. Good video man thank you, they're a great bike, I love your love
The 2003 gas tank seems to be year specific as well. I'm currently rehabbing an 07 SV650s and have sourced an 03 650 gas tank, but it does not fit the 07 without modification.
Hey there. Yes. You can put N handlebars on an S but you will run into the handlebars hitting the upper fairing at almost full lock and you may not be able to use your factory steering lock because of it.
Hey great explanation, I own an 05 SV650 n (naked streetbike) and i notice that you said it's not all that comfortable to ride on the highway because of how much wind would be hitting on the chest due to current speeds. And just out of curiosity could i possibly fit a full front fairing like the Sv650s model have?
Hey there. Unfortunately the N models do not have the mount built into the frames that support the front upper fairing assembly / headlight. S to N conversions are easy but N to S is not as simply. You would need to have that part cut off of an S and weld it to you N to install the necessary components to complete the conversion. I usually recommend just trading your N for an S if you really want one. A lot of S owners want to convert their S to an N but don’t want to do the work. Sometimes you can get lucky and just straight up trade for the model you want and everyone wins. I actually mention this in another video I recently made. I’ll link it below. Check it out! I mention this in a different video. But the O2 sensor was a state specific option. Mostly for California and other states that require annual emission testing.
There is a drain port on the front cylinder that if you keep it clean and clear of debris it should prevent the front cylinder from cutting out. Also, the swingarm on the S model is shorter and the chain is 108 links vs the 110 on the N.
Hey there. I actually made a completely separate video about the drain holes and how to clean them. Link below. ua-cam.com/video/BvnqX94f9Cc/v-deo.html Also as for swing arms. The S and N swing arms are not any different in length. Except for 2003 SV1000 S / N and ABS models have a longer swing arm.
@@PASSIONBUILT The wheelbase for the S and N are different. I always thought it was because of the swingarm length but it might be because of the gearing differences.
Maybe? I’m not too sure. Now you got me questioning myself lmao I’ll have to compare swing arms that I have lying around at the shop and report back lol But as far as I know 2003 SV1000 models and later ABS models are the only ones with swing arm differences.

That is incorrect. The swing arms are the same length from 2003-2009. The only swingarm difference is on the ABS models. Those have a slightly longer swingarm. But that’s about it. There is no difference in swingarm length between black/silver frame non-abs models.

FI is just easier to work with. You don’t have to worry about parking your bike for a while and the carbs gumming up. The mechanical fuel pumps aren’t easily serviceable on the carb models. Also, parts for the Gen 1 models are harder to find and much more expensive. In example, the cluster assembly for the naked models, which always break when dropped and cost an arm and a leg to buy used. The ECU (CDI) on the Gen 1 commonly fries and are expensive to replace.
Hello. For my first bike i was thinking of a sv650s but I'm afraid that it may not be really comfortable for longer rides (road trips) being a sportier version. I'm thinking of changing the rear of my 2007 sv to a 2003 subframe. yess ik it's a bit of a downgrade but I dislike the banana shaped subframe on the newer ones. anyways I wanted to get an m4 exhaust for 2003 sv since I'm replacing the subframe and the mounting points are difrent, but what I'm worrying about is that the engine may be difrent to so my question is can I get a 2003 exhaust and put it on the 2007 engine without ruining the engine performance?
The engines from the 2003 and 2007 are identical with the exception of the cylinder heads. 2003 models came with the single spark plug design head and the 2007 came with the dual spark plug design. As long as you swap your passenger foot pegs with the subframe because 2003 passenger foot pegs are specific to the 2003 subframe. Everything should bolt up fine. I doubt there will be any major changes to the engines performance in a negative manor either. Also keep in mind that you will need to also replace your main rider seat and the frame covers (plastic triangular shaped covers under the main rider seat) when you swap to a 2003 subframe due to design differences. Hope this helps. 🙂👍🏼

The 2003-2008 Suzuki SV650 S model can be equipped with lower side fairings. Buying them new will cost about $800 paint matched. If you haven’t bought one yet. I would just recommend buying one with factory lower fairings installed.

You can buy high rise clip ons or do a complete S to N conversion which is relatively easy. I will have a couple conversion sets available on my website in the upcoming weeks.
Is there any reason as to why you would want a Gladius engine in your SV650? The engines are similar but not identical. I do have a 2007-2009 SV650 engine in great running condition available if you are interested in purchasing it.
Like I mentioned. The engines are similar but not identical. There’s no reason to swap an engine from an SFV to an SV. You would need to swap over most of your accessories from your SV650 engine to make it work. All for no gain. When it comes to SVs. There isn’t much you can do swap wise.
Yes, but you will need to completely swap triples. Not just uppers for the conversion. I’ll have a full S to N conversion available soon if you’re on the market?
I apologize but I don’t have a video for that. There is main main line connecting from the fuel pump to the throttle bodies assembly. There’s not many other fuel lines. The only ones are on the throttle body assembly itself and those are pretty self explanatory.
I honestly prefer the black frame over the silver 😅 also 09 is cool because the lower fork sections come painted black from factory. Love that for the 09 models.
Great info. Was the background music important? There must be a reason for it to compete so much with your vocals. Can't wait for the music-soundtrack-only version so I can see why it so special to be included.
The one on my grey bike is a Yoshimura RS-3 and the one on the blue bike was a Dan Moto I believe. Installing a slip on is easy with the right tools. I have a couple exhaust comparison videos comparing the Yoshimura RS-3, Yoshimura TRS and M4 slip ons. Check out my SV650 playlist for those videos.

Like I mentioned. The engines are similar but not identical. There’s no reason to swap an engine from an SFV to an SV. You would need to swap over most of your accessories from your SV650 engine to make it work. All for no gain. When it comes to SVs. There isn’t much you can do swap wise.
@@PASSIONBUILT ya I figured. Thanks for responding though in general!
1000 Year old question, are handlebar setups interchangeable ?
Yes, but you will need to completely swap triples. Not just uppers for the conversion. I’ll have a full S to N conversion available soon if you’re on the market?
Brothe algun video ke donde van conectadas las lineas de gasoline en jna sv650 2001
I apologize but I don’t have a video for that. There is main main line connecting from the fuel pump to the throttle bodies assembly. There’s not many other fuel lines. The only ones are on the throttle body assembly itself and those are pretty self explanatory.
Gen 1 vs Gen 2 recommendation for us 1 Gen guys
I always recommend Gen 2 over Gen 1 just based off the simplicity of fuel injection and the modern touches the Gen 2 has over the Gen 1.
The silver fame is waaay better I wish my 09 was...
Lol sorry 😅
Can you tell me what slip on is on the 03 model in this video? And was it hard to put on?
The one on my grey bike is a Yoshimura RS-3 and the one on the blue bike was a Dan Moto I believe. Installing a slip on is easy with the right tools.
I have a couple exhaust comparison videos comparing the Yoshimura RS-3, Yoshimura TRS and M4 slip ons. Check out my SV650 playlist for those videos.
I don't understand the appeal of a partial fairing bike, it looks shit.
To each their own 🤷🏻♂️
