Hey rob, I don’t know if you know, but having too much plants in a single tank or tub/pond, can produce oxygen during daylight but during nighttime, it’s reversed, the plants stop using photosynthesis and takes up the oxygen in your water at night. The Best way to fix that is to have an air stone to keep more oxygen in your water so it can do a gas exchange in your water during night time. Could explain why your molies are exhaling for air and with the water being warmer due to spring, they require more oxygen in that body of water. Hopefully this helps you rob
I'm sorry, but that is absolutely not true. Plants have zero need for oxygen. They solely rely on carbon monoxide we produce that when we breathe out, plants suck it in, and basically when they breathe out its pure oxygen. Plattys are tropical fish, and they most likely suffered from the cold. Or, if it got too warm, there was no water flow, so any oxygen stayed at the top, leaving the bottom of the tub with little to no oxygen. You really need to have air stones at least to move the water.
That's just for underwater plants, the floating plants are not using or producing oxygen under water. The higher temperature will deprive the water of oxygen. So I think that's what happened mostly. To many fish, not enough oxygen, the weakest died first.
Read my post. Hyacinth plants take oxygen out of the water. And true a airstone or some kind of flow would help. But the tub is too small for the amount of plants in there
Sorry to hear about your moving situation I hope you figure something out for you don't have to go throw all this again stay strong and focus on your dreams and what you need to do to take care of yourself brother much love from California
Hey Rob if you want to help with heat and direct sun light you could always use like a trap style tent to cover the top. The ones that ppl use when they’re at the beach and it’ll help with heat?!?! Plus I would add an air stone for gas exchange. Good luck bud.
Id like to see some texas and vejia and possibly jaguar cichlids 😊. I'm so sorry to hear about your living situation especially when you got everything set up... Maybe its time to just look for a place that is for sale so you could buy your own house and it be fully yours to do whatever you wanted with tanks and monster ponds. Best of luck and like always we love seeing your videos.
Rob, you should have a shade cloth or covering to block the sun so the water won’t get so warm. I have put cooler water into mine during very hot weather. I really am sorry for the loss, they are beautiful little fish. Will they be for sale?
Rob buddy😢 even if it's a WATER RECIRCULATING PUMP, keep the water moving! We use a " Geyser " aerator in ALL OUR tanks and holding tanks. 😂 You know the ones that simply shoot water up in the air. Lol Actually my Dad used a recirculation pump and tagged up a shower head so the water was CONSTANTLY moving and showering down on the water, creating aeration / adding oxygen. Be creative, and you will get the results you want at a fraction of the price. You could just pump water from the canal ❤ STAY STRONG, KEEP PUSHING and KEEP YOUR FAITH! Just another bump in the road bro!
Surrounding your 300 gallon tubs with hay bales will help insulate and regulate the water temperatures, your landlord might not be ok sinking them in the ground. 😊Hope your blue pattys make it 😢, they will replenish their numbers very quickly ❤.
Honestly, he needs to add air more oxygen, in the water the less oxygen the Algae will take from the water that could be killing them to on top of the heat
Great video Rob, I'm glad you saved your fish. Put something over your ponds that provides shade and that will keep the temperature down. Also buy you a house so you won't lose your living space anymore.
In that heat you NEED oxygen in there. At least 1 or 2 bubblers. Warm water equals less oxygen. And the fact that they we’re struggling, you should have had a bubbler in your bucket.
Even if its just an outdoor pond, you should still have a bubbler or something moving the water and creating some oxygen, I learnt this the hard way too
I rob my best UA-camr my favourite fish that I have is Bob because he eat watch a fish and I know yours is big red or a little red I mean and yeah thanks for thanks for liking my comment😊
Oh my, I lost a whole pond of beautiful Guppys with females with black bodies and blue and green tails, 5 years of breeding. Still so sad for your fire loss. Tears.
Dear Rob, I feel for you. I have an outside pond with gold fish. Some I have had for 20+ years. They were bought as 2-3” tiddlers when our offspring were at primary school. They are now fat and a foot long. I HAD about 20 - all varied white, gold, red and black. With short tails, long tails, big butterfly tails. They had survived two house moves. My darling husband popped the hose in the pond to fill it up. Usually I run the hose through the filter, which then goes through the plants in the pond and then into pond. 6 hours later I came outside to 12 dead fish, 2 dying and the rest suffering. Chlorinated water!! 😮 I ran to get the water ager.and dechlorinater two whole bottles went in. Water through the filter. I saved the two fish ( Ghost & Fatty) but the rest were gone. I was in tears, inconsolable. I had to dig a mass fish grave. I was sad for days. It shows you how tough goldfish are, but also how attached you get to your little friends. I feed them every day. They come to the edge and I can hand feed them. Their little mouths make blooping noises as they eat… very sweet. Since the “Event” they have bred and two new babies have appeared. I’m going to buy some new fish soon as soon as the temperature drops. It’s late summer here. Great video Rob and Camera Girl, I wish you nothing but the best with your new venture. NZ is a bit far to send fish and MAF would NEVeR allow them in the country! 😅😊🎉🎉
Love what your doing literally my dream thing to do catch fish breed and sell I got some jade sleeper gobies around like $180 each but don’t have the space to breed u fortunately but really want to work up to what your doing but man if you market this well you can make some serious bank ngl super awesome to see!
So sorry to hear of the possibility of moving yet again Rob, maybe it's your guardian angle showing you a new place that is big enough to house all your fish and plans Is it worth while moving out into the country a bit and look to rent or buy a few acres giving you room for expansion, Maybe purchasing a greenhouse/glass house to put the fish in Can I suggest considering a lease on a property so you can't be chucked out, and if possible get a lawyer to look over the lease before signing (ie check for rent increases, landlord maintenance on the property, solar inclusion? I wish you good fortune Rob it's about time you got some Tony from Western Australia 🇦🇺
Hey rob how do you buy fish? Kan you gif an hart and say i can buy fish. Can you say 5 fish for ind my pond like breders but not that its explods tnx 😊😊😊😊
Those tubs are black they hold heat like anything black will do. Put shade cloth over your tubs , make a pvc top and cover your black tubs with Garden Shade cloth, keep them out of the sun… pvc is cheap
The cichlid tank needs to be a cichlid pond. Catch them out as you go, sale those and leave them in a tank for post/sale. Wild jewels make for good feeders or sale also. Some people don’t have them 😮💨
Maybe better manage the Platy pond like a Koi pond with special filter system that includes automatic water change and air pump ? I've lost a fishtank full of cichlids in Summer , now I have ac at it .
I would take and freeze 5 gallon water jugs and put in the pond to help keep the water from getting to hot being a Texan I have do it and works great 😊
Why is it above the ground? digging them into the ground is the best way to apply insulation. now you have black pound that captures heat. and just to be sure, always have an air pump in it.
@@PULAG it works for more people. I think the water remains more stable in terms of temperature. so it can't get too hot or super cold. movement in the water will also bring hope. and otherwise a few solar panels on the roof. and that way to connect the heating or pumps for the ferry. takes a whilemoney but it earns it back.
Where can I puy some of these fish

You should get canopies for over each of the outdoor ponds and tanks.
What happened to the traps?
I'm so glad you are making a business out of it, and I wish you SO much luck and success!!!! #HellsAuntieSquad

Ever consider putting shade canopy over the black tubs to keep the direct sun off of them?
What I was thinking, because the black is going to absorb extra heat and will also take longer to cool down
If you can bury your outdoor ponds about halfway, this will help insulate and keep the water cooler at the bottom
Good Point.
Talk about roller coaster bro. All the luck! keep your head up man you been grindin don’t stop
Love your honesty! It happens. Im concerned for your outside tanks as well i reckon the heat and sun will boil them😮
They do a lot betta than the black pond
In a way, allowing the water to get up to 86°F to 89°F is what is recommended to kill the Ich. This is what I have been seeing for Aquariums.
Maybe get some of the little solar powered pumps with airstones. They are great for outdoor ponds and tubs.
*Keep up the amazingly fabulous work!*
Hard work pays 💪🏽

So sorry to hear about your Platies, Rob! The loaches are ok because they can breathe atmospheric air.
So sorry to hear about the change of living situation. I thought you were set up in Zac's rental. You just cannot catch a break.
Rob!! I told you forever ago to do this!! It's all me 😊😊love it!
You need bubblers in your outside tanks, dude. Love your shows ❤
Sorry for all the comments... I'm really pumped your doing that! I my those Cory doras!!

I did subscribe😁💪
Videos of the best😊
Would love to get a hillstream loach
Re the algae, get yourself some magic erasers they will remove any tank algae easy and will cost you less
That sounds not safe
I like the idea of buying wild caught! Will it show on your sake site which ones are wild caught?? ❤
Best of luck to you keep grinding good things coming!
Hey Rob, awesome video! Look into a retractable awning/freestanding pergola. Having the shade option when it’s hot af out might help.
Hi I love your videos you inspire me so much
What’s your favourite fish that you own?😊
Right now Little Red
So sick😊

Kinda have to have great credit, a large down payment, though there are first time home buyers programmes that can help.
Shade and air?
5 comment you rock rob and happy Wednesday and awesome video 💪👍💯
Hey Rob. Also you need some shade for outdoor tanks plus air stones
What if you painted the outside of the tub white so it will reflect the heat instead of absorbing it?
I click on the link for your shop. It takes me to a map in Spain😂😂😂
And the contact person is in Spain😂😂
Do you have thermometers on all your outside ponds? If not, that would really help you. You could check them daily.
Liked the video Rob
I thought I said in the other video
If you have flow!! Those plants should help keep water cool... Can't be in stagnet water though.

@RobsAquatics OK great ,
Hi, I will buy💪🏽
Rob!!!
Put a bubbler in the outdoor ponds , some plant will take out the oxygen out of the water.
yo rob when will the gulper be up for sell, i have been looking at gulpers recently but every were is either sold out or very expensive shipping.
Pics of the puffer and price and r u willing to ship to new york?also would be interested in some bigger clown knife if u can catch any
❤❤❤❤👋 😊
Good afternoon rob!!hope the weather is beautiful!
Those tubs are black they hold heat like anything black will do.
Put shade cloth over your tubs , make a pvc top and cover your black tubs with Garden Shade cloth, keep them out of the sun… pvc is cheap

The black corys looks good. Can you do Priority Mail with no guarantee
Whenever people place orders I contact them for next day to make it safer for the fish
UA-cam did not recommend your video to me this time and I don’t know why but great as always Rob 🤷🏾♂️
Black plastic pond in the heat with too many plants = no Bueno
It’s like you read my mind 😂fair play brother
Please keep the puffer do not sell it 🙄 I think you’ll regret it after
Are you affiliated with Rob’s Aquatics in IL? Was searching for your shop when that came up.
No I’m not
How much for the mollie pair cost an shipping to wva
An how much for plecos
Hopefully you won't be homeless again you are just starting back up and kicking ass again 😔
Umm your traps?
That’s where the jewel cichlids came from
Whats the point with a pond where you cannot see the fish?
I can't have baby plecos here in Duncan Oklahoma the water here is bad I want to try a full grown pleco for my back yard all I have in there is perch
Why no oxygen in those??
Maybe better manage the Platy pond like a Koi pond with special filter system that includes automatic water change and air pump ?
I've lost a fishtank full of cichlids in Summer , now I have ac at it .
Add your shop to your linktree and descriptions ☺️
Hey rob, you should probably pick out a lighter colored tub instead of a black one cs black usually absorb the light&heat.
killifish bro they are the most beutiful out off all smaller fish

I use to breed Corydoras. Recommend give them some cover. Create a cave if you can for them. They get stressed if they can’t hide
Can u get any red tails and ship them to Michigan there hard as heck to get and find here would be a great addition to my indoor monster fish pond
Yes I can!
I definitely need more corys
Sorry for all the losses. Good luck
How much is it? Cat fish😊
Yeah, how much is it $30😊
Could get some cheap canapés for shade during the really hot days. That might help with the outdoor ponds
