evidently this is no longer a preorder exclusive. on May 21st you can purchase Nest of the Eldritch Eye for $4.99 on DnDBeyond (after Eve of Ruin is released).
Can you share where that is said? The dnd beyond page still says pre-order exclusive

@@gamemasters thank you! I really want to run this with the adventure, but refuse to buy books on DDB when they are available at my LGS in paper
I added a Professor Orb in the cults library that looked like a floating eye and has extensive knowledge on things tied to Vecna and the cult.
nice! I'd love to know what other DMs out there have done to make Vecna their own over the years.. Like.. what has happened to Vecna in THIER world..
I might have to use this little dungeon. It'll fit nicely into my existing campaign as long as I up the difficulty of the encounters.
yeah, the encounters are not super hard, but then again, this was designed for level 3 characters.
Appreciate your videos. I finally got my hands on this adventure yesterday, and am planning on running it as a short bridge between Descent into Avernus and Eve of Ruin-I’m shifting the setting from Neverwinter to Elturel, and the nest is going to be an underground Cathedral of Kelemvor taken over for Vecna’s rituals
Most excellent! That is exactly what one is supposed to do, make it your own!
Thanks GameMaster! I’m no statistician but winning a fifty-fifty three times in a row is just a little more than a 10% chance; assuming a handful of level three heroes have some plus sixes, they’ll need a ten or better for the checks so I figure a fifty-fifty. More heroes making more attempts helps but even five heroes is not a fifty percent likelihood. May have to lure the zombies through a corridor and kill them one by one. As for the charms, let’s save ‘em! Vecna won’t use them against us later I promise!
That's my thought too, save the charms and use em when we face off with vecna himself.
Running this tonight (using Shadowdark rules) and this video was a PERFECT summary to help me remember all the prep I did earlier this week. Thank you!
I rather liked this adventure, it was short, sweet, and well balanced. Have fun!
It sounds like a pretty standard affair, in terms of an adventure...
The intro was a bit snazzy! :)
heh yeah, not a terrible adventure at all. And for the beginning, I wanted to do something a little different... kindav inspired by someone else that does some 70's style openings..
...70's Neon is awesome, and I will hear no bad things about it! :D :P LOL
This was an excellent rundown of the dungeon! Thank you! Your explanations, creature swaps, and insight made this easy to grok. Subbed!
Thanks, I am really looking forward to reading the full adventure 😀
Aye, I am as well
The adventure is not only available when you pre-order the Vecna book. When that book is released next month you can buy this one for 4,99.
then they changed it, it was going to be an exclusive only for the preorders then once the book was out, the adventure was to be removed. ua-cam.com/video/cFVaUWXY6yc/v-deo.htmlsi=aTFpxyCEVO-mJ7xU&t=147
@@gamemasters correct. I guess to many people complained. They changed it a few weeks ago.
i'll pin an update as the top comment
Conveniently, the players in my current Phandelver and Below game were just the right level for this. So, last session I used one of their ties to Neverwinter to pull them back for a session to run through this. It was fantastic!
most excellent!
Awesome video!
ty
Capturing them, as per the players guide, you get experience as tho you fought them. So capturing is xp.
sure.. have you ever known players to simply... "capture" of their own volition? mine never do haha
@gamemasters that wasn't what you said in your video tho. Telling people capture and return is worth xp and money. You say in this video, it's one or the other. Your words.
Interesting but I know I won’t get it because I won’t buy anything new from WotC . I may try to buy the book on the second hand market.
Cool video
it's a pretty decent adventure, this one.
You can’t spoil an adventure I can’t get😊
I don’t subscribe to D&D Beyond, preferring pen and paper and loads of homebrew, but most importantly I’m to tight to spend money on a subscription for conveniences sake.
totally understand!
Wait, so is this module out? I preordered Vecna Eve of ruin when preorder was available. But how do I obtain it?
If you ordered the Digital+Physical Bundle then you need to unlock the activation key to redeem on DnDBeyond, digital only should see it automatically. This adventure will also be available for purchase on May 21 for $5.
if you log into dndbeyond, and you've already preordered the digital, it should be unlocked, DndBeyond > Sources > All Sources > Adventures > last one listed
@@GreetingsGQ6 Thank you!
@@gamemasters Thank you!
This happens in 1501, and the eve of ruin will be in 1491... This is odd... Do you know why?
Not sure where it states that it takes place specifically in 1491?
Chapter two starts off with "This chapter begins sometime after the characters’ adventure in Neverwinter-days, months, or years, at your discretion." While it doesn't specify a specific date here, it does state that Eve takes place after Nest.
