I sort of interpreted Stark as a character who had the potential to be the most powerful but lacked the desire to be so. To him having the most power is isolation, it's torture.

I don't know as soon as ulquiorra pulled out his segundo resurrection, I immediately accepted the fact that he was secretly the most strongest espada and was deliberatly placed on a lower ranking for Aizens own purposes.

Nel is a centaur, (I know shes a former espada but I was just including her) sazyel (I know I didn't spell that right) seems like a sea coral or anemone, one of the two. Coyote stark is likely a wolf (or a coyote) given by how his spirit energy manifested as wolves. Yammy looks like multiple creatures in his different forms so that ones a wash.
I realized, the rankings do make sense if they’re based purely on the amount of reiatsu an Espada holds. The original rankings make sense based on the reiatsu each Espada has in their unreleased forms. Yammy after releasing has the most, but still has the skill of a number 9. Ulquiorra is 4th among the Espada when unreleased, but in Segunda Etapa loses his number completely and outclasses them all.
If Stark lived, I like to believe that he would still let Harribel be the ruler of hueco mundo because of his laziness and not wanting to deal with the responsibilities it comes with lol

Stark fought 2vs1 against hard counters. One guy can send his own attacks back at him… and the other can ignore his speed by teleporting into shadows and attacking out of it… two big counters… 2 of strongest shinigami as his enemy other than Yamamoto
Meanwhile Bankai Hollow Ichigo's Getsuga Tenshou couldn' even SCRATCH 1st ressurrection Ulquiorra. But Shikai unmasked vizards and Shunsui could easily make him struggle, or at least counter his attacks and make him hurt.

Even if they were not at full power, 4 captains with shikai and 2 of them with visored boost yet he was still able to keep up with them and almost killed the visored without even trying
For some reason I took “Let’s go Stark” as Lilynette taking over the main body for some reason and Starrk being in the wolves, so the guns are her but he’s the wolves, the body is just a fusion of the two. I thought it made the character even more neat
Honestly he was my favorite Espada regardless of what people think of how his character fleshed out. Everything about his fight with Shunsui was awesome to me and I'm so hype you actually made a video about it!
He fought 4 captains while trying half heartedly and made Shunsui consider using his bankai . If it wasn't that he didn't want to fight in the first place he would have been a real problem. But people sleep on him as he didn't have that much screen time.
Starkk relationship with lillinette mirrors the relationship Shunsui had with nana older sister before she became a vizored. Stark is basically a espada shunsui

I honestly felt we got a grasp of Starrk's power and he definitely deserved Primera. Barragan died to 2 mid level captains and a low lieutenant. Hallibel lost to a single mid high level Captain. Starrk Fought not only the 2 Highest Level Captains after Yamamoto. But also two more Low High level captains with Hollow masks activated. All 4 of them in their Shikai. And didn't have a downhill battle. He kept up the 4v1. Only Starrk and Ulquirra gave us a idea of how truly powerful the upper Espada were

ive always tried to point that out to people about Ichigo's hollow power that he is so far ahead of the other visoreds because his hollow is "white" a genetically enhanced hollow of absurd levels. the fact they was all so scared when he was becoming a visored is adamount that even their "controlled" forms couldnt even compete with a hollow essentially really shows why Ichigo as a whole is a "freak" when it comes to power levels.

I'm surprised you included the "One gun fires faster shots and the other fires more powerful shots". When Shunsui mentioned that to Stark, his response was "No one said such a thing." I always assumed it was just something Stark was doing to trip up his opponent, rather than an actual mechanic of his Ressurection.
I was also surprised by him saying that. To me it was more of a "Oh did it look like that... Well it's not" situation. As in, Stark wasn't trying to trip him up, but neither is the statement about his guns true.

I always thought shunsui's different attitude between fighting Chad and fighting stark was because Chad is a human (its his job to protect humans) and stark is a form of hollow (it is his job to cleanse hollows)
Always saw him as the strongest but lazy. It’s because of that he’s not really taken seriously by most of the espada as shown in bleach brave soul by Grimmjow,nnoitra, and barragan. However he’s clearly powerful as unlike the rest of the espada we’ve seen with full on fights he doesn’t fight aggressively like Grimmjow,nnoitra, yammy and Ulqiourra as they fight like actual beasts or creatures. Stark being a vasto lorde prior and splitting himself into two are huge feats. His reiatsu and power aren’t an exaggeration as he blasts out countless cero like nothing which is a deadly move especially by the espada as it takes concentration from all of them except stark who looks like he’s very proficient in blasting one off no issues. I see it as the strongest don’t really have to fight physically as they can just depend on their immense powers such as barragan just releasing his breath around him as they do the work same can be said who fires off so much cero without and signs of fatigue.
Interesting how Starrk and Ulquiorra are the only two natural Arrancar among the Espada, yet they are the two that are most often discussed about in regards to being the strongest one...
Well i still think barragan was at least above ulq, and have in mind that being a arrancar doesnt mean you are the strongest, the hollow that fought with barragan and acknowledged his as a king of hueco mundo fought with yamamoto and survived

I think the Summon Wolf technique he uses was Lilynette assuming control of Starrk's body while Starrk's soul itself transforms into those wolves, hence why in the anime that line is spoken with Lilynette's voice
Something people in the community over estimate is destructive potential in comparison to technical feat, in the sense that like you said, you could destroy a city with a machine gun, it would just be unfeasible in terms of time. Starkk feels like the character who could trounce nearly anyone in terms of raw reserves and intelligence, yet falter when placed against exotic techniques or enemies with more combative experience.
I think Stark would have gotten along well with the two captains that fought him. Also I don't think Starrk was fighting all out. He was serious yes, but he was not that dig down and destroy my enemy with everything level. I think #4 was stronger but I think Starrk could have done more.

Im sure someone mentioned this by now, but the "Starrk's Wolves" ability you mentioned is actually named, atleast in Soul Resurreccion, "Comarada" (literally Comrade in spanish and Companion/Soul Bretheren in japanese), which further sells his depiction as "loneliness", as his only friends, or comrades, are those of his own creation, fragments of himself. His only friend being, fittingly, himself.

I really enjoyed this analysis clyde,a lot of honest really well thought out contextual examples along with great character analysis. Made a lot of things that I was not certain about make more sense.
"Its hard to get a soul reaper and have them swap their sword for an ak47" I mean he DID literally have an entire group of soul reapers that were unable to return to the the soul society and had lived over 100 year in the human world ,adopting human culture and living among them in false bodies. I feel like that might have been a PERFECT chance to do that.
The Espada ranks are very well known to be somewhat BS. However, the powers are not what makes the story interesting. The different drivers to their being is what makes some Espada interesting. Stark, Ulquiorra, and Grimmjow are by the coolest Espada not for their power, but because we got to explore what makes them tick.

Shunsui and Stark were my two favorite characters while reading. And though the fight was cool, I really had hoped for more from the two of them in this fight given how highly regarded each of them were. I really think they're abilities were downplayed from a writing standpoint to balance longevity of the Manga if it was going to continue past Aizen. Had there not been a continuation in mind, I think the two of them would have been shown to be as strong as viewers were lead to believe up to this point
I was always of the opinion that Ulquiorra was the strongest because his second form was never known to anyone hence his number didn't reflect his actual power that was displayed in the last fight.

(I'll try to come back later and take a more in depth look) This is in response up to the part where you write (Ulquiorra fight) The core of your argument seems to revolve Ichigo being weaker than the top espada hence ulquiorra can't be as strong. But this logic kinda misses my whole point on the subject. My whole theory is that ulquiorra's true form was hidden from everyoneone and hence he was actually the strongest espada but none of the other espada or aisen knew this. Ulquiorra obviously can completely beat the shiz out of Ichigo without needing to enter his final form despite Ichigo having his mask on which is ichigos strongest form up until this point in the story. Ulquiorra destroys Ichigo who is assumed to be weaker than other espada doesn't somehow prove ulquiorra to be weaker than those espada also. If this was the case then Aizen would be the weakest for steping on an ant because ants are weak and anyone can kill them. No my whole point is that ulquiorra is the strongest espada and Ichigo while in vosto lord form completely curb stomps ulquiorra. Hence ichigos vosto lord form is in fact stronger than any of the espada as well. I don't think I explicitly mentioned that in my past posts but it was implied. -- PS I just skipped and read the last line of your post and can see you say ulquiorra second form strength is unknown and could be stronger but there is no way to know for sure. for ulqiorra, is there anything to be said about the fact that in his segunda etapa, his number just vanishes. for yami, its shown that he went from 10-0 but for ulqiorra it just goes and its not mentioned. recon thats just a design choice or could it imply that at this point he was simply beyond the other espada?
This was definitely a narrative implication and a really nice way for Kubo to show us how powerful ulquiorra actually was in his second release. People always talk about yammy being 0 but never about Ulquiorras number simply dissapearing

Aizen never saw the form. Not to say that he didn't know about it because it's implied that he did however aizen is the one who gave the espada their ranks. So since he never saw the form how could he ever place a ranking on it? That's the reason why the rank isn't shown if you are curious. However there is an argument in favor of ulquiorra above the espada. Aizen specifically relied on ulquiorra to test the vasto lorde form and he was relative to it. So aizen needed to fuse with the hogyoku before he could deal with people like kenpachi and vasto ichigo. This was the same aizen who in base was already above the other espada. So that puts ulquiorra as relative to vasto lorde ichigo who is above base aizen who just outscales any of the other espada

Plus surmising that the details from the one shot are true from the video, I don't see how it's farfetched to any degree, you've really not said anything that would make my thoughts so 'unbelievable'. These are typical human emotions, and since the espada are have shown to some degree of the same, connecting the dots here and coming to that conclusion doesn't seem "reaching for things that aren't there" at all.
@@Mugetsu2021 Yammy had to keep being angry and psyche himself up otherwise he would lose strength. The author literally stated he felt despair when Ulquiorra's reiatsu disappeared. Keep in mind White's reiatsu even with half a shihakusho was confirmed to be more than Yammy's in his monkey form. His ability to sense reiatsu is very basic and amateurish. Point is, of all the Espada he respected Ulquiorra the most hence why he felt despair when he died. This is all canon information from data books and manga, you are the one who is reaching my friend.
Well also because there is no so much to read about Starrk. So to compare him, he has to be. Compared to a lot of parallels from other characters with more screentime. The debate doesn't concern only Starrk, but Barragan, Yami and Ulquiorra too. Because 3 of them could have false rankings. Also the debate evolve around, who is the real challenge for Ichigo? Clyde makes the point that Ulquiorra and Yami would be the real challenge, due to Aizen's persona.
One thing I will say, is that the idea of "Hueco Mundo amps Hollows and Arrancar" has been backed up by Can't Fear Your Own World. It introduced Reimyaku, which is a unique spiritual energy that permeates throughout the worlds literally exactly like Uryu was describing. We've seen it be used for two things. The first is that Ichibe can harness it within the Soul King's Palace to revive the Zero Division as long as their living quarters is in tact, and the second is that Reimyaku is what Hado #99 runs off of. So it's really powerful stuff, it's specific for each world like Uryu was explaining, and we already know that small Hollows are able to sustain themselves just through the air of Hueco Mundo. So what's /probably/ happening, is that people with spiritual energy that's hollow in origin (like Chad and the small hollows) are able to harness the Reimyaku of Hueco Mundo, just like Ichibe can for the Soul King's Palace and just like practitioners of Goryutenmetsu. And harnessing that ridiculously strong type of spiritual power, they get an amp from it. (Again, as we saw with Chad.) BUUUUUT there's no way to quantify the amp that it gives so uh...doesn't help much in the discussion, unfortunately.
Wait i thought it was obvious that the reason why aizen destroyed the train in dangai is because he wanted ichigo to reach his full potential. Also chad's power being aggressive in hueco mundo was to show that it has hollow nature to it which can be considered a small foreshadowing to chad being a full bringer. Also man stark's fate is tragic 😭
Not sure if people mentioned this, but I feel its significant that Ulq's aspect is despair. He tells Ichigo in the battle that its hopeless since Ichigo can't even beat him, rank 4, and that therefore he has no chance against the others (maybe it was just in the anime not sure). Aizen and/or Ulq just wanted to fck with ichigo by having him battle the strongest espada, but think he was fighting someone of lower rank, thats true despair
Sure Starrk lost to Shunsui's shikai. But there is no shame in that considering Shunsui does become Yamamoto's successor. And Yamamoto's shikai alone is as powerful as most captain's Bankai. I would even argue that Shunsui's shikai is stronger than any other captain's Bankai who is under Byakuya
Definitely Starrk has a better chance of taking Ichigo's fully charged attack. As Aizen so blatantly put it, these fights are a fight of reiatsu. Starrk definitely has greater reiatsu than Nnoitora despite Nnoitora likely having the greater hierro
My idea was that Nnoitora having the strongest hierro or the other guy having the fastest sonido was they had the best hierro/sonido in respect to their reiatsu. So if they had the exact same level of reiatsu, nnoitora would have the strongest hierro
At first, Espadas were ranked by power in ordinal scale, but then Tite Kubo decided to put the three digit Arrancar, some secret Espadas, second resurrection, Espada 0, and had abilities like that "time advancing fire" or body control. Honestly, I think Espadas were ranked by their espiritual pressure and not by their fighting power and definitely not by their luck.
Easy one of my favorite characters in the series. Love the Guns and wolfs aesthetic in the series. Wish he stayed around longer. Character I could relate to with his loneliness, was always a personal favorite for me. Love that he's getting a video now, this was amazing.
I like Starrk, but Grimmjow won me over lol. Still I think Starrk just didn't have enough time to show much of his power the man literally went against one of the gods of the shinigami
I write this before watching the video i would say only stark and zaraki had so much power they subconsciously had to split it. There might be a upcomming character that has something similar but that is his special power wile zaraki and stark were subconsciously forced to do so.
I always thought of Stark as essentially having a 'bad build', to borrow RPG terms. If we ignore the nihilist and the punching bag, he explicitly has the deepest power reserves of the Espada. But the way he uses that power is really just inefficient for high level combat. Yes, being able to fire off incredible amounts of basic Ceros forever is a wild feat, but due to the way durability scales to Spiritual pressure, that's frankly kind of useless as a damaging attack against equivalent or stronger opponents. Cherry tapping is a generally bad strategy in Bleach. I feel like this ties back into his personal narrative. He was born strong and it isolated him, and he's been so much stronger than everything around him for so long that he doesn't have the right mentality to developed combat techniques to take best advantage of his power in the way that the others do. There's also the fact that he embodies loneliness, and that it has eaten away at him so much that he's taken to literally tearing himself apart. Splitting off a big chunk of himself, and then a bunch of smaller chunks, is objectively a bad way to operate as a fighter with the way that spiritual power works, but he does it anyway because it allows him to not be alone. Also blowing up chunks of your soul as an attack is kind of dumb, and I kinda get the feeling that Kubo just didn't have a clear enough vision of what do with Stark, as evidenced by his wet fart of a personal arc.
Take in consideration his opponents and feats. He was the only Espada that actually won a fight. He clapped 2 former and soon to be future captain Vizards. Then he ultimately loss to the future Head Captain of the Gotie 13. He doesn't have a bad build he was just against too much firepower

Does anyone really think Aizen or Yamamoto or anyone stands a chance against vasto lorde Hichigo at full power in hueco mundo?
I think what he meant when he said "Let's go Starrk" was that he was trying to motivate himself. Like a "let's go Starrk, it's time to get serious, you can do this"
He’s actually pretty strong if you think about it. He was able to fire ceros at the rate that a Gatling gun fired bullets, hence the abilities name. He could likely overwhelm both Barrigan and Halibel with that ability alone.
While I do feel that Starrk was fighting seriously against the Captains and Vizards, I think he wasn't trying his *hardest* during most of the fight because of his characteristic lazy personality and dislike for the Karakura War as a whole. You can see this when Love knocks him down into the ground and he's just lying in the rubble, not really wanting to go back into the fray, but eventually pushing himself to keep fighting. It's similar to what happened to Minato in the War arc, the so called "Minato's Daze". He was fighting seriously (c'mon, the guy was in KCM), but not to the full extent of his capabilities because of the mental stress he was suffering from thanks to the guilt about Obito. Maybe Stark could have fought harder, but I don't think he would really bring himself to fight with the lust or honor or pride that guided the other Espadas. It was just not in his nature.
@@emptymelody5179 That’s such a perfect way of putting it. If Starrk was really out to kill Shunsui, he most likely would either be injured or just be killed. Starrk had a few opportunities to kill Shunsui and even Ukitake.
You know Espada Arc is the best Bleach Arc, when even to this day its even talk about, and being debated, and also show how great and well design the characters when to this day its still well remember and well debate like Ulquiorra ( Arguable the best and the strongest Espada), Starrk ( debatable if he is truly above Ulquiorra or vice versa) and how cool looking Grimmjaw is.

I would’ve liked it if Starrk, Ulquiorra, and Lilyneete survived the Arc as well, Starrk and Lilynette making actual friends would’ve been an interesting contrast for the rest of the Hollow based characters other then Harribel and her Fraccion, as Nel’s and her own Fraccion they have mostly negative attributes to their personality’s, Ulquiorra finally learning what his “heart” is would’ve been pretty interesting to see that development and seeing stronger Starrk and Ulquiorra throw down with the Sternritter would be awesome
I mean he talked abt stark for 20 mins and then the people who are stronger than him (Yammy and Ulquiorra) for the remaining 30 so it’s not that bad. I mean starrk barely had any backstory and actual screen time so it’s hard to talk abt him for a long time
If starrks original form was already merged, and his ressurection form just merges the two of them together, wouldn't that be a basis for a decent theory that he probably did have a second ressurection? Like if you think about it, if he was originally merged, wouldnt that just make his ressurection his original base + maybe some amps with the guns and all? I imagine he just never bothered to try learn his 2nd release form or was just too lazy to use it, or maybe there is some reason he doesnt have one and i've just forgotten it being mentioned lol
I always get a bit upset thinking about how they shafted this man. Even then they had an opportunity to develop him more and give him some great moments for the TYBW instead for some reason Mayuri recovers the bodies of and zombifies crusty characters like Luppi and Charlotte? I'm not sure his corpse is intact and recoverable. We see his chest start braking apart, almost shattering, as he falls so I wonder if he got the Ulquiorra/Barragon treatment and there's just nothing left.
@@Raver-1601 yeah but he still had a corpse, even if it wasn't fully intact. Plus we never saw what Szayel and Mayuri did to it. Rebuilding the top half is still more believable than completely rebuilding a body from nothing. At that point the person would just be a robot or something like Nemu. Bringing back Luppi was dumb, (it should have been one of the other Espada like Nnoitra or Zommari) but at least there was something left of him.
Love how aizen was lonely because he was "too strong" and wanted to develop ichigos powers to fight but was that afraid of Yamamoto to where he made a being specifically meant to seal his zongpakuto
Yamamoto had already reached his peak while Aizen was far from it so yes, he was too strong because he would eventually surpass Yamamoto and reach far higher height it was just a matter of time and he did when he fused with the Hogyoku. Plus let's be honest, if not for plot Aizen could have easily at any moment one shot all of the captains by cutting off their head with KS. Aizen was simply on another level compared to everyone else, he was a genius who knew every Kido and Hado, his shikai is the most broken in the show, we haven't even seen his bankai yet, his reiatsu is leagues apart from other captains and he is just as smart if not smarter than Urahara. Ichigo being a fusion of all races (Shinigami/Hollow/Quincy) was the only one who could stand in front of Aizen as equal because he had just as much potential as him.
I sort of interpreted Stark as a character who had the potential to be the most powerful but lacked the desire to be so. To him having the most power is isolation, it's torture.

I realized, the rankings do make sense if they’re based purely on the amount of reiatsu an Espada holds. The original rankings make sense based on the reiatsu each Espada has in their unreleased forms. Yammy after releasing has the most, but still has the skill of a number 9. Ulquiorra is 4th among the Espada when unreleased, but in Segunda Etapa loses his number completely and outclasses them all.

For some reason I took “Let’s go Stark” as Lilynette taking over the main body for some reason and Starrk being in the wolves, so the guns are her but he’s the wolves, the body is just a fusion of the two. I thought it made the character even more neat
Honestly he was my favorite Espada regardless of what people think of how his character fleshed out. Everything about his fight with Shunsui was awesome to me and I'm so hype you actually made a video about it!

I honestly felt we got a grasp of Starrk's power and he definitely deserved Primera. Barragan died to 2 mid level captains and a low lieutenant. Hallibel lost to a single mid high level Captain.
Starrk Fought not only the 2 Highest Level Captains after Yamamoto. But also two more Low High level captains with Hollow masks activated. All 4 of them in their Shikai. And didn't have a downhill battle. He kept up the 4v1.
Only Starrk and Ulquirra gave us a idea of how truly powerful the upper Espada were

I'm surprised you included the "One gun fires faster shots and the other fires more powerful shots". When Shunsui mentioned that to Stark, his response was "No one said such a thing." I always assumed it was just something Stark was doing to trip up his opponent, rather than an actual mechanic of his Ressurection.
I was also surprised by him saying that. To me it was more of a "Oh did it look like that... Well it's not" situation. As in, Stark wasn't trying to trip him up, but neither is the statement about his guns true.

I always thought shunsui's different attitude between fighting Chad and fighting stark was because Chad is a human (its his job to protect humans) and stark is a form of hollow (it is his job to cleanse hollows)
and Chad was never a threat for him to begin with.
Always saw him as the strongest but lazy. It’s because of that he’s not really taken seriously by most of the espada as shown in bleach brave soul by Grimmjow,nnoitra, and barragan. However he’s clearly powerful as unlike the rest of the espada we’ve seen with full on fights he doesn’t fight aggressively like Grimmjow,nnoitra, yammy and Ulqiourra as they fight like actual beasts or creatures. Stark being a vasto lorde prior and splitting himself into two are huge feats. His reiatsu and power aren’t an exaggeration as he blasts out countless cero like nothing which is a deadly move especially by the espada as it takes concentration from all of them except stark who looks like he’s very proficient in blasting one off no issues. I see it as the strongest don’t really have to fight physically as they can just depend on their immense powers such as barragan just releasing his breath around him as they do the work same can be said who fires off so much cero without and signs of fatigue.
Interesting how Starrk and Ulquiorra are the only two natural Arrancar among the Espada, yet they are the two that are most often discussed about in regards to being the strongest one...

I think the Summon Wolf technique he uses was Lilynette assuming control of Starrk's body while Starrk's soul itself transforms into those wolves, hence why in the anime that line is spoken with Lilynette's voice

Something people in the community over estimate is destructive potential in comparison to technical feat, in the sense that like you said, you could destroy a city with a machine gun, it would just be unfeasible in terms of time. Starkk feels like the character who could trounce nearly anyone in terms of raw reserves and intelligence, yet falter when placed against exotic techniques or enemies with more combative experience.
People in the shonen community thinks if it's not a dragon ball z level attack its weak.

I think Stark would have gotten along well with the two captains that fought him. Also I don't think Starrk was fighting all out. He was serious yes, but he was not that dig down and destroy my enemy with everything level. I think #4 was stronger but I think Starrk could have done more.

Im sure someone mentioned this by now, but the "Starrk's Wolves" ability you mentioned is actually named, atleast in Soul Resurreccion, "Comarada" (literally Comrade in spanish and Companion/Soul Bretheren in japanese), which further sells his depiction as "loneliness", as his only friends, or comrades, are those of his own creation, fragments of himself. His only friend being, fittingly, himself.
Starrk has to be the most demotivated "strongest" I've seen in any manga. Dude literally just quits when his friends got punked.

The Espada ranks are very well known to be somewhat BS. However, the powers are not what makes the story interesting. The different drivers to their being is what makes some Espada interesting. Shunsui and Stark were my two favorite characters while reading. And though the fight was cool, I really had hoped for more from the two of them in this fight given how highly regarded each of them were. I really think they're abilities were downplayed from a writing standpoint to balance longevity of the Manga if it was going to continue past Aizen. Had there not been a continuation in mind, I think the two of them would have been shown to be as strong as viewers were lead to believe up to this point
I was always of the opinion that Ulquiorra was the strongest because his second form was never known to anyone hence his number didn't reflect his actual power that was displayed in the last fight.
I mean...it wasn't unknown to EVERYONE. Kubo has stated that aizen always knew bout the form.

The core of your argument seems to revolve Ichigo being weaker than the top espada hence ulquiorra can't be as strong. But this logic kinda misses my whole point on the subject. My whole theory is that ulquiorra's true form was hidden from everyoneone and hence he was actually the strongest espada but none of the other espada or aisen knew this. Ulquiorra obviously can completely beat the shiz out of Ichigo without needing to enter his final form despite Ichigo having his mask on which is ichigos strongest form up until this point in the story.
Ulquiorra destroys Ichigo who is assumed to be weaker than other espada doesn't somehow prove ulquiorra to be weaker than those espada also. If this was the case then Aizen would be the weakest for steping on an ant because ants are weak and anyone can kill them. No my whole point is that ulquiorra is the strongest espada and Ichigo while in vosto lord form completely curb stomps ulquiorra. Hence ichigos vosto lord form is in fact stronger than any of the espada as well. I don't think I explicitly mentioned that in my past posts but it was implied.

Why would he just randomly explain his segunda to ichigo when he knows that aizen has a big screen tv watching their fight. He was just explaining that he is only number 4 in terms of aizens ranking. Starrk is the best character in all animes (for me). He's personallity and the behavior, is really interstend. Amazing work by Tite Kubo
for ulqiorra, is there anything to be said about the fact that in his segunda etapa, his number just vanishes. for yami, its shown that he went from 10-0 but for ulqiorra it just goes and its not mentioned. recon thats just a design choice or could it imply that at this point he was simply beyond the other espada?
This was definitely a narrative implication and a really nice way for Kubo to show us how powerful ulquiorra actually was in his second release. People always talk about yammy being 0 but never about Ulquiorras number simply dissapearing

Aizen never saw the form. Not to say that he didn't know about it because it's implied that he did however aizen is the one who gave the espada their ranks. So since he never saw the form how could he ever place a ranking on it? That's the reason why the rank isn't shown if you are curious. However there is an argument in favor of ulquiorra above the espada. Aizen specifically relied on ulquiorra to test the vasto lorde form and he was relative to it. So aizen needed to fuse with the hogyoku before he could deal with people like kenpachi and vasto ichigo. This was the same aizen who in base was already above the other espada. So that puts ulquiorra as relative to vasto lorde ichigo who is above base aizen who just outscales any of the other espada
I do like the detail that Yami despaired for Ulquiorra, small details like these make me really want to know more about them

How is that reaching, I haven't read the manga, but your evidence doesn't refute the idea of having respect for someone and showing something else to other people on the outside, like how is that reaching when you are enraged and in battle the respect will often turn into disappointment or pride going up in confidence of one's self, his death aspect is rage so it would make sense so I don't see how it would nullify him having respect before.
Plus surmising that the details from the one shot are true from the video, I don't see how it's farfetched to any degree, you've really not said anything that would make my thoughts so 'unbelievable'.
These are typical human emotions, and since the espada are have shown to some degree of the same, connecting the dots here and coming to that conclusion doesn't seem "reaching for things that aren't there" at all.
@@Mugetsu2021 Yammy had to keep being angry and psyche himself up otherwise he would lose strength. The author literally stated he felt despair when Ulquiorra's reiatsu disappeared. Keep in mind White's reiatsu even with half a shihakusho was confirmed to be more than Yammy's in his monkey form. His ability to sense reiatsu is very basic and amateurish. Point is, of all the Espada he respected Ulquiorra the most hence why he felt despair when he died. This is all canon information from data books and manga, you are the one who is reaching my friend.

Why Ulquiorra is badass
One thing I will say, is that the idea of "Hueco Mundo amps Hollows and Arrancar" has been backed up by Can't Fear Your Own World. It introduced Reimyaku, which is a unique spiritual energy that permeates throughout the worlds literally exactly like Uryu was describing. We've seen it be used for two things. The first is that Ichibe can harness it within the Soul King's Palace to revive the Zero Division as long as their living quarters is in tact, and the second is that Reimyaku is what Hado #99 runs off of. So it's really powerful stuff, it's specific for each world like Uryu was explaining, and we already know that small Hollows are able to sustain themselves just through the air of Hueco Mundo. So what's /probably/ happening, is that people with spiritual energy that's hollow in origin (like Chad and the small hollows) are able to harness the Reimyaku of Hueco Mundo, just like Ichibe can for the Soul King's Palace and just like practitioners of Goryutenmetsu. And harnessing that ridiculously strong type of spiritual power, they get an amp from it. (Again, as we saw with Chad.)
BUUUUUT there's no way to quantify the amp that it gives so uh...doesn't help much in the discussion, unfortunately.
Wait i thought it was obvious that the reason why aizen destroyed the train in dangai is because he wanted ichigo to reach his full potential.
Also chad's power being aggressive in hueco mundo was to show that it has hollow nature to it which can be considered a small foreshadowing to chad being a full bringer.

Not sure if people mentioned this, but I feel its significant that Ulq's aspect is despair. He tells Ichigo in the battle that its hopeless since Ichigo can't even beat him, rank 4, and that therefore he has no chance against the others (maybe it was just in the anime not sure). Aizen and/or Ulq just wanted to fck with ichigo by having him battle the strongest espada, but think he was fighting someone of lower rank, thats true despair

Sure Starrk lost to Shunsui's shikai. But there is no shame in that considering Shunsui does become Yamamoto's successor. And Yamamoto's shikai alone is as powerful as most captain's Bankai. I would even argue that Shunsui's shikai is stronger than any other captain's Bankai who is under Byakuya
Definitely Starrk has a better chance of taking Ichigo's fully charged attack. As Aizen so blatantly put it, these fights are a fight of reiatsu. Starrk definitely has greater reiatsu than Nnoitora despite Nnoitora likely having the greater hierro
My idea was that Nnoitora having the strongest hierro or the other guy having the fastest sonido was they had the best hierro/sonido in respect to their reiatsu.
So if they had the exact same level of reiatsu, nnoitora would have the strongest hierro

Ok that last "LAST" part of the video I keep watching it over again and it makes me laugh even more.
At first, Espadas were ranked by power in ordinal scale, but then Tite Kubo decided to put the three digit Arrancar, some secret Espadas, second resurrection, Espada 0, and had abilities like that "time advancing fire" or body control.
Honestly, I think Espadas were ranked by their espiritual pressure and not by their fighting power and definitely not by their luck.
Easy one of my favorite characters in the series. Love the Guns and wolfs aesthetic in the series. Wish he stayed around longer. Character I could relate to with his loneliness, was always a personal favorite for me. Love that he's getting a video now, this was amazing.
I like Starrk, but Grimmjow won me over lol. Still I think Starrk just didn't have enough time to show much of his power the man literally went against one of the gods of the shinigami
I write this before watching the video i would say only stark and zaraki had so much power they subconsciously had to split it. There might be a upcomming character that has something similar but that is his special power wile zaraki and stark were subconsciously forced to do so.

Clyde casually posting almost an hour long video is just what I needed.
I always thought of Stark as essentially having a 'bad build', to borrow RPG terms. If we ignore the nihilist and the punching bag, he explicitly has the deepest power reserves of the Espada. But the way he uses that power is really just inefficient for high level combat. Yes, being able to fire off incredible amounts of basic Ceros forever is a wild feat, but due to the way durability scales to Spiritual pressure, that's frankly kind of useless as a damaging attack against equivalent or stronger opponents. Cherry tapping is a generally bad strategy in Bleach. I feel like this ties back into his personal narrative. He was born strong and it isolated him, and he's been so much stronger than everything around him for so long that he doesn't have the right mentality to developed combat techniques to take best advantage of his power in the way that the others do. There's also the fact that he embodies loneliness, and that it has eaten away at him so much that he's taken to literally tearing himself apart. Splitting off a big chunk of himself, and then a bunch of smaller chunks, is objectively a bad way to operate as a fighter with the way that spiritual power works, but he does it anyway because it allows him to not be alone.
Also blowing up chunks of your soul as an attack is kind of dumb, and I kinda get the feeling that Kubo just didn't have a clear enough vision of what do with Stark, as evidenced by his wet fart of a personal arc.

Take in consideration his opponents and feats. He was the only Espada that actually won a fight. He clapped 2 former and soon to be future captain Vizards.
Then he ultimately loss to the future Head Captain of the Gotie 13.

Aizen found Starrk as a fully formed Arrancar who got no power ups but only splits his soul. That alone makes him Primera. His problem is more attitude to battle than skill. He is the strongest

Stark had nothing on secunda etapa from ulquiora. Only time we saw liquid spiritual pressure. not even aizen could replicate this. Im just baffled how much people underestimate VASTO LORDE Hichigo. Starrk and Ulquiorra have always shared the number one spot on my list of favorite Bleach characters
He’s actually pretty strong if you think about it. He was able to fire ceros at the rate that a Gatling gun fired bullets, hence the abilities name. He could likely overwhelm both Barrigan and Halibel with that ability alone.
Agreed he is better in the areas that barrgan and halibel excel the most (raw power for barragan and strategy for halibel)

While I do feel that Starrk was fighting seriously against the Captains and Vizards, I think he wasn't trying his *hardest* during most of the fight because of his characteristic lazy personality and dislike for the Karakura War as a whole. You can see this when Love knocks him down into the ground and he's just lying in the rubble, not really wanting to go back into the fray, but eventually pushing himself to keep fighting.
It's similar to what happened to Minato in the War arc, the so called "Minato's Daze". He was fighting seriously (c'mon, the guy was in KCM), but not to the full extent of his capabilities because of the mental stress he was suffering from thanks to the guilt about Obito. Maybe Stark could have fought harder, but I don't think he would really bring himself to fight with the lust or honor or pride that guided the other Espadas. It was just not in his nature.

For a video about Starrk, I'm surprised there's some time dedicated for Ulquiorra and Yammy.
You know Espada Arc is the best Bleach Arc, when even to this day its even talk about, and being debated, and also show how great and well design the characters when to this day its still well remember and well debate like Ulquiorra ( Arguable the best and the strongest Espada), Starrk ( debatable if he is truly above Ulquiorra or vice versa) and how cool looking Grimmjaw is.

I would’ve liked it if Starrk, Ulquiorra, and Lilyneete survived the Arc as well, Starrk and Lilynette making actual friends would’ve been an interesting contrast for the rest of the Hollow based characters other then Harribel and her Fraccion, as Nel’s and her own Fraccion they have mostly negative attributes to their personality’s, Ulquiorra finally learning what his “heart” is would’ve been pretty interesting to see that development and seeing stronger Starrk and Ulquiorra throw down with the Sternritter would be awesome

If starrks original form was already merged, and his ressurection form just merges the two of them together, wouldn't that be a basis for a decent theory that he probably did have a second ressurection? Like if you think about it, if he was originally merged, wouldnt that just make his ressurection his original base + maybe some amps with the guns and all? I imagine he just never bothered to try learn his 2nd release form or was just too lazy to use it, or maybe there is some reason he doesnt have one and i've just forgotten it being mentioned lol

I'm not sure his corpse is intact and recoverable. We see his chest start braking apart, almost shattering, as he falls so I wonder if he got the Ulquiorra/Barragon treatment and there's just nothing left.

@@Raver-1601 yeah but he still had a corpse, even if it wasn't fully intact. Plus we never saw what Szayel and Mayuri did to it. Rebuilding the top half is still more believable than completely rebuilding a body from nothing. At that point the person would just be a robot or something like Nemu.
Bringing back Luppi was dumb, (it should have been one of the other Espada like Nnoitra or Zommari) but at least there was something left of him.

Yamamoto had already reached his peak while Aizen was far from it so yes, he was too strong because he would eventually surpass Yamamoto and reach far higher height it was just a matter of time and he did when he fused with the Hogyoku. Plus let's be honest, if not for plot Aizen could have easily at any moment one shot all of the captains by cutting off their head with KS. Aizen was simply on another level compared to everyone else, he was a genius who knew every Kido and Hado, his shikai is the most broken in the show, we haven't even seen his bankai yet, his reiatsu is leagues apart from other captains and he is just as smart if not smarter than Urahara. Ichigo being a fusion of all races (Shinigami/Hollow/Quincy) was the only one who could stand in front of Aizen as equal because he had just as much potential as him.
Stark would've been a cool Espada to juxtapose Shunsuis new position. More so than Harribel, but then again Stark doesn't have her staying power lol
