I'm fixing a leaking water pump on a Piaggio X7 125cc. I've removed the cover but couldn't get the impeller free. Now I've watched this video I've learned that it opposite tread. Great informative video. Thanks from Wales UK.
Thanks Robot from Newcastle, Australia. I couldn’t replace the whole housing because my stator wouldn’t fit into the new housing so I followed your steps and easily rebuilt my original housing. Thanks very much for the great video!
Thank you so much `"robot"for your video.I have a gts300 and tomorrow i have to do all this job because i saw very little sample of milk in oil...Your video is helpful.
you know those tiny stud oil seals u put in there? well i just got this neglected gilera and its smokin oil on startup .the guy who i got it off was a weed man and didnt look after it .the oil and water was lower than low .do u think because of that the oil seals burnt out causing the gasket to fail?
Super interesting video! Very good explanation, thank you. But heating the stator-cover with an electric cooker one top of an oildrum...seems dangerous to me. Is there a vido of the 2018 Sprint coming up? Greetings from The Netherlands!
Do you have the water pump install tool for sale? I would like to buy one. My 2006 GTS leaks from the weep hole upon start up after it’s been sitting for a while. Thank you for your time making this video and responding. Very much appreciated!
Hiya I'm really struggling I've got the other version of the Stata plate it has three prongs going into a plastic fan now one of them snapped off obviously that's going to make a whole thing I'm balance so it started leaking water and I watched your video all the way through to put in the bearings and the seal now I cannot turn the shaft at all so I thought like you said there might be a bit tensions so I made sure it was all tap down correctly I got a bit frustrated turned it with a pair of pliers it took me a hell of a grip to turn it can you help me what's gone wrong because I'm just wondering where the Third Arm watch protruding from the Stata plate where it's snapped wondering if it's one the bearing as I've seen damage on the inside of the casing to so I'm just wondering when it overheated with that banging inside it's walked or damaged straightness of the channel that the bearings going to could you please help thank you
Hi I just bought my first vespa 300 GTS but in really bad condition and need some advice with a radiator fan socket as the previous owner connected directly to the battery and I have no idea where the fan plug should go to? Thanks
Hi I have to change the water pump on a vespa gts 250 ie 2006. I have already a new water pump and a stator from a vespa gts 250 2010…. Will it fit on the old motor?
Hey Robot, please tell me where can i find the special tool, for mounting the water pump seal from minute 31:16 ??? I try to mount by my self not 1 time, but twice... and i just damage all ceramic seal... I will try to stay calm and wait some advice.
Yes the most important part of the video, a very special, secret tool is required I can see no way to install seal correctly without it. Im glad I had a good look before ordering parts, that cannot be changed by the average mechanic One manual says these new seals have to run in and may weep up to 1500 km Oh boy!!! Video is great but might as well say that the whole housing has to be replaced at least if he seal still leaks you might have some come back.
I found the tool: Piaggio 020440Y I'm not sure if it is the same for the quasar motors, but it is in the GT 200 workshop manual. Pages 48 & 220 here: www.scootermasters.com/manuals/GT200Workshop.pdf
on the 2003 BV200 there is no bolt, and no way to remove it in reverse, it looks like it needs a bearing puller as there is no other way to do it without breaking the whole piece, please help

Robot, you are the face of Vespa! Brilliant mechanics! KUTGW! I want new 06 Day Decal Pkg. don’t see them on the web site?
Super interesting video! Very good explanation, thank you. But heating the stator-cover with an electric cooker one top of an oildrum...seems dangerous to me. Is there a vido of the 2018 Sprint coming up? Greetings from The Netherlands!
Less dangerous heating it with a electric heating element than with an open flame. Don't worry, my shop has plenty of fire extinguishers!
Do you have the water pump install tool for sale?
I would like to buy one.
My 2006 GTS leaks from the weep hole upon start up after it’s been sitting for a while.
Thank you for your time making this video and responding.
Very much appreciated!
@vespa Motorsport thanks but I had oil in the stator cavity like 300 ml is this normal ? what could be the cause ?
What I have to do with the motor cables and what to loose .

You're welcome!
when do i have to rebuild the water pump ?
Piaggio X9 has a problem with water mixing into the oil. Could it be a circulation seal problem?

That blue grease that you used to keep the large o ring in the cover, was it rubber grease that you used or just normal grease?
We use maxima waterproof grease for most applications. We sell it on www.scooterwest.com if you can't find it elsewhere. Thanks!
@@VespaMotorsport ok cheers,I usually use silicone grease, would you say that's ok to use on gts water pumps?
Hello Robot, can you do a water pump rebuild of a Piaggio BV 500.
Maybe is the same but I like to know what you lose
Hi I just bought my first vespa 300 GTS but in really bad condition and need some advice with a radiator fan socket as the previous owner connected directly to the battery and I have no idea where the fan plug should go to? Thanks
Robot, Did you ever consider taking your service demo’s on the road to do seminars around the country?
Uh, you’re lookin at it. The road is the information superhighway
Hi
I have to change the water pump on a vespa gts 250 ie 2006.
I have already a new water pump and a stator from a vespa gts 250 2010…. Will it fit on the old motor?
I think I would go with the replacement cover...
yep, 95% of customers and shops do the same.
Hey Robot, please tell me where can i find the special tool, for mounting the water pump seal from minute 31:16 ??? I try to mount by my self not 1 time, but twice... and i just damage all ceramic seal... I will try to stay calm and wait some advice.

Wow, $123 - $191 depending on where you buy it. Did scooterwest end up selling their custom-machined tool mentioned in the video?
Help please. Need to replace the whole speedo cable on a 2008 Vespa 125 S . Is it as hard a job as I am finding it 😩 (not a mechanic by the way)

Robot, would you mind to share size of o ring on cover itself? OE number is 485080. Thanks in advance
bonne meca de pro
All the problem is about your "special customize tool".Who is right amount of spring tension on mechanical seal??

I regret my choice buying a vespa.
A 2020 primavera with multiple rust spots and huge rust underneath.
Maybe it’s the environment that you live? I’ve got a 2015 sprint not a spec of rust
Leader engine is better than quassar engin for abouth water pump.
