Freddie always said there wasn't message in his songs...but Roger wrote this one. The video does have a '1984' feel. You should check out some of Roger's solo work. Lots of messages there. The Unblinking Eye(Everything is Broken), Surrender, Foreign Sands, so many and then there Happiness, and Sunny Day.
Like that “1984” reference and yes a Roger solo song would be great since you did Resurrection. Got a huge laugh out of I’m the Drummer in a Rock and Roll Band but he has done lots of serious stuff. Foreign Sands is great. Love how direct he is.
@@HAP3SPEAKZ Rogers Solo work is very good, I agree with Betsey Unblinking Eye and Foreign sand are as good as anything Queen has done also Nazi's Roger is the king of the protest song.
Yes HAP, I agree that the video part was a little different. I did like that it was the band who saved him!! Great reaction!! Your ears seem to catch everything! 🌻🌻🌻
I enjoyed the video!. Very different for Queen. It was more like you said, a contemporary sound to it. Very soft in places when Roger toned down the drums but it still had a upbeat feel. I liked it!
Please put on your list to react to Let me Live it's on Queens last album Made in Heaven this song has Freddie, Brian, Roger all sing. such a beautiful song
It's from a film by George Lucas, THX 1138. I wouldn't say I love this song, but I liked your comments about post-production because it made me look at this track in a different way. They were certainly experimenting with new things, which is cool.
Nice reaction, good observation on the production and the Orwell references, I never thought of it with this song! This not one of my favorite Queen songs. But I must say, that this song does have a very modern feel, it would not sound out of place in today's music world. I could easily see someone Ed Sheeran performing a songs such as this.
First time listen for me. Of course it's great because its Queen. Probably not taking a spot on my top 10 Queen songs though, but still a great song. 80s videos are a trip
Thanks for the comprehensive comments! The best channel. Your comments are the best and Queen is the best. These talents have given the world so many iconic hits. These are the world's musical heritage forever. I would like to highlight Roger's love for rock. There is one very awesome clip. ua-cam.com/video/weAIq1Ptqb8/v-deo.html Freddie's start and Rog goes on .... WOW! I really like it. Please try it if possible. The song is "Rock It (Prime Jive)" from the album “The Game”. All the best from Finland.
Hello! As always I love your reaction and how you decipher, always under your point of view, the videos and the lyrics. I really love it. Let's move on to another question. The Hot Space Album, they underestimated it in their time, now, in these times, people begin to value it as it deserves, it has songs that are wonderful, I particularly like all of them, but there are 2 that I would like you to react to They, because I love them are: "Back Chat" and "Action This Day" live at Milton Keynes Bowl, 1982. Thank you!
Personally, I do like this song written by Roger. It’s fun to sing along. Hap - please listen to SEE WHAT A FOOL I’VE BEEN - either Rainbow ‘74 or Hammersmith ‘75. (Do NOT listen to an official Queen version- it’s waaay different and kind of silly) it’s a great bluesy song and one of my recently discovered favorites. No video version of either. (BBC recorded Hammersmith ‘75 but left before their final encore of 2 songs). Freddie and Brian also had the Flu at Hammersmith ‘75.
Not one of my favorite song, but it now much more intersting.....when siing ti with you! You always have an exsplenastion on all things...good saturday-eve/nigth.......call: ... .......4 🤣🤣🤣
@@HAP3SPEAKZ Another video to check out is Freddies cover of The Great Pretender which contains clips from Queen & Freddies solo videos but with a twist. They show a clip from the original video followed by it being reshot for the video. When you see some of the sets it seems a lot of effort for a couple of seconds of new footage!
I’m with Roger, I don’t know what the robots have to do with calling all girls!!!! I’m also with Roger and Brian about the album. I love Under Pressure with David Bowie. It’s still #1 of collabs. I especially love toward the end when Freddie sings the word “Why” and sings every note in the scale without taking a breath. In Queen terms, as the manager Jim Beach said, Hot Space was a disappointment as far as sales. Many die hard Queen fans were very upset they tried a disco album. I admit I was one of the them. The only Queen Album I didn’t buy. I did, however, purchase Under Pressure as a single. It was #1 in he charts.
@@HAP3SPEAKZ Yes it's Roger Taylor who wrote it. The video is a parody of a movie of George Lucas. Story of a guy living in a society where people are controlled by cameras and computers and the protagonist wants to escape. He succeeds and the authority prefers of course to hide the truth and tells his mate that he killed himself. At this time there were a lot of science fiction movies and series which suggested this kind of society. In an interview Freddie told that he likes the videos being enigmatic somehow to let people have their own idea.

Well UA-cam is full of wonderful people. Each bring their own flavor to the world.

Hi Mike, you were not the first person to bring this up, I have a archived list. If you have not already- please do check out the Queen Playlist I have on the channel. That will explain my approach to the music as I have progressed. Sometimes ad-hoc too.💕 Hope that`s okay.
