It was a real drivers show which was a lot of fun. Shame it had 0 mass market appeal.
The first A class was a deathtrap it rolled so easily.
@@jediknight1294 It was best when it was in the 80's original form with William Woolard and Co., they just reviewed the newest cars on the market. In it's latter form it was just a vehicle for Clarkson to f**k around and indulge his ridiculous fantasies funded by us the BBC licence payers.

The copycat B-rate antics I referred to belongs to the shows current presenters and not the original trio who pioneered the “New Top Gear”.
@AlexGRFan97 We got the best of both worlds when we got new Top Gear and Fifth Gear. TG gave us big boys and their toys while 5G continued to give us decent but entertaining motoring journalism. I love the both.
At least today's Top Gear doesn't copy the fake hatred like in the last few season of Top Gear and The Grand Tour. I quitted watching The Grand Tour after two season and never looked back.
