Very good tales in series. I was amazed by phantasia on snes / also star ocean. I was not expecting what future have in store - Berseria / Vesperia / Abyss / Xillia / Symphonia :) I had a lot of fun checking every corner for cooking chief XD
Phantasia, Eternia, Symphonia and Abyss are the 4 best in the series. I could never get into any of the other Tales games. Each of these 4 games are a master piece in their own right, I love each of them so much and can replay them any time.
I really don't understand why they decided to show the battery in the corner of the screen anytime with no way of turning it off.. it really annoyed me to the point I finished it on emulator... Great video again, can't wait to see what's next
@@johnmervincegloria1175 Yes, always assume that if there's multiple discs, you need all of them. Sometimes there's a bonus disc but in the ps1 era, it's very rare to have that kind of discs.
Some fun random facts here….this game’s ship date was to be September 11, 2001 in the US. In those days, it would have been available to buy the following day which was a Wednesday… I think I finally managed to actually get a copy on that following Friday or Saturday...rightfully so given the awful events that unfolded that week. The localization for this game was leaked when somebody intercepted an email from the company doing the English localization of the game’s opening movie. Leading up to the release, somebody released Melnics as a downloadable font for your pc. Yes….I’m old. The one thing that has always bothered me about this game-and maybe it’s a localization issue, is that Meredy is the only Celestian resident that has dialog written to sound like she was a mentally challenged 5 year old. Nobody seems to address that. Everybody else on that planet sounds normal. Why? Was it addressed in game and I just forgot? Was this just a thing in the English version?
I didn’t realize how much I had lucked out when I picked a copy of Eternia off Amazon for a fairly decent price. It even included the jewel case completely intact, as well as the manual, only slightly wrinkled. I’m very proud of it!
I forgot it was on the ps1 lol seen it on the psp 😊 you have a nice voice 😊 I just subscribed I have tales of radiant mythology I did a unboxing on the tales of radiant lol..
on ps1, I remember that technical ring can control quickie while casting. Making me an incredible and annoying AND supporting player two. Note aside: the strongest meredys weapon is time element XD
I feel bad for the voice actors. If I remember correctly, the VA for Reid said in an interview that he wasn't given much direction when it came to his voice work, so he just did what he could, only for the game to come out and hear gaming news talk about how awful the voice work was. He laughs about it now, but I may have to do a rewatch of the interview to make sure my facts are straight.
I would not take to.hard on him. I play as a kid só evertyhing is cool ( and demon lightning Hammer Stills ecoes in my Head in a good way) and VAs in game was not such a Thing back in the day in rpgs and that was Very cool. And hey.. nothing can be worst that Zero in MMX4

the psp version is a graphical downgrade from the ps1. compressed and squashed sprites and backgrounds, not to mention the outline in various 2D elements.
I wish this gets a remake. Eternia is super underrated. The story and character development is great.

Graphical improvement, 2 worlds trend, introduction of combos, ability to control all characters, introduction of divine skill aka mystic artes.

I just imported a copy of this game now that I have an HDMI adaptor for my PSP. I have fond memories of it on the PS1

I love this game. Get a modded psp, ppl. Put your favorite roms on it and some emulators and have a blast. 😊
