This is an underrated comment.
Hilarious comment man.

I really feel for Bobby here. It’s clear he feels he owes Ned for all he’s done for him. He just wants him to come clean so this can finally be done and over with. Don’t let it get you down Bobo.
Why do you believe that he should apologize
@@Iliveonthesecondfloor Taking a big leap here but probably for stealing jokes.
@@Iliveonthesecondfloor For not only stealing jokes, but for doing so specifically to fuck with rookie comedians and poisoning the community comedians have. When Robin Williams told other people's jokes, he was usually riffing and wound up saying other people's bits. He at least had the good sense in his heart to send those comedians a check as an apology. People don't talk about Mencia's comedy the same way people don't talk about Denis Leary's comedy.

If “Lack Of Accountability” was a person ...
That's women bro
Yeah him staying canceled is completely based on his lack of accountability. He wants people to put him on trial and present evidence and a case to him that he stole their jokes. This is stupid and unrealistic. He knows in his heart whether he stole jokes. If he were honest with himself and others he would apologize for what he did and move on. He's cowardly and arrogant.
Why doesn't that work for Trump then? The bastard is uncancellable.
@@ontemp Right. I thought the whole time he was trying to act like he was the victim. Never owned up for his own shit, just acted like he was a victim for being treated like a thief, that did actual damage to younger and less successful people that he knew couldn't do anything about it.
Khalyla: as a sexual assault survivor, joke theft isnt comparable to rape.
Ned: do you know how many millions I've lost??

For real. I was like come on.
Ned: How awesome I am and you owe me (Bobby). I don't owe anyone nothing.

@Space Zero He did just fine. They brought Ned in to let him speak, and Ned spoke! They even tried to steer him in a good direction, but he kept looping the same story...
This is so sad. You can literally see Bobby's heart breaking. He so badly wanted him to do the right thing here. And he was just crushed.

Loved hearing Carlos tell us how great he is over and over again to his openers. Didn't even give Bobby a chance to say something nice, he said it all about himself. That paints the picture enough for me.
First time I've seen Bobby so quite carlos would not stop talking to give them a chance the end was like how about we all just say something without interoptions
EXACTLY. "I'd love for to people to speak bad on me" but says " I have done so much for other people" . He has a god complex.
"I've done this and that for other people, so everything bad I've ever done is excused" " Dont bring up anything bad I've ever done, because I've had such and such open for me"

@Ginger Melville oh I’m sorry is Mencia part of your life??? Do you know him or any of his accusers personally??? No. Stfu when you have zero idea what you’re talking about hating on someone because your mother didn’t love you enough. Gtfo
He has taken halfway ownership of what he has done to piss people off in his industry and he gave a halfway apology. Simple ownership and apologies could have saved him millions. No one should have to fight for him or put him down. This was his battle with his ego. He took a bet on himself by deciding not to apologize for anything at first and lost. Carlos thought the storm would pass and it didn’t. Simple as that.
@Ginger Melville yes Connor Planty the whitest name on earth is Carlos mencia.
The self aggrandizing, booty covering, dodging, filibustering, and paper thin denial is a true spectacle. Bobby looks miserable and frustrated but stood his ground way better than expected. You can tell this conversation meant a lot to him
At 1:07:30 Khalyla asks Bobby if Mencia has ever done him dirty. Here is where we see just how prepared and shady, how scummy and deceptive, how well Carlos has thought out his defense for his joke stealing.
He very sneakily cuts her off, doesn't let Bobby answer, and crams bullshit into the mic about when Bobby posted that video about Carlos, how it killed him to see Bobby in pain over it, how the hate Bobby got was....blah blah blah....more blah blah blah bullshit.
Ugh, he's a fucking human troll hybrid. I've never seen anything more cringe crazy and so obviously guilty.

Good episode. Ned could of really redeemed himself but he couldn’t give a heart felt apology...also the “rape” analogy wasn’t the best choice lol

I agree Mat H... i think he has been punished too much, but also should apologize. He's not the ONLY comedian who took premises, but most other comedians at least fess up when it becomes an issue.
@ Jim can’t swim!
I don't think Ned has the ability to feel sorry for what he did, making it impossible for him to apologize. He probably doesn't even fully understand why what he did was wrong
Bobby and Khalyla gave him an amazing opportunity here to tie it all up and put it behind him, but he can't stop with his ego...
“If i hear one joke i heard before you are off the tour” how ironic 😂😂😂

Constantly reminding someone of what you’ve done for them is a very good way to have that person not want to be around you. There’s a disconnect with reality.
He's on a podcast, not a private conversation. When he's just talking to Bobby he doesn't bring up what he's done for him every 2 seconds. Just like with Bobby's intros for guests, he always says what they've done for him and what their history together is, the guest already knows all of that, he just says that for the audience.
@@equi2523 @5:00 @7:46 just to name a few-didn’t want to search up the rest again. He doesn’t only talk about what he’s done for Bobby or just small memories of what they used to do and act like in the old days. He constantly talks about what he’s done for all these successful comics and for the comedy world as a whole. No one in their right mind does that especially when it’s not the whole truth.
Bobby gives thanks to him and appreciates what he’s meant to him over the years. Ned gives thanks to himself for being a savior to comedy..
That's just your point of view though... in the podcast Ned said that people make him out to be this selfish fuck that only cares about himself and doesn't help other comics. That's why he talks about what he's done for others to show that he was interested in building up other comics as well and not hold them back, and to show that he has given to people as well. Cause some people don't know any of that
He definitely sounds narcissistic but he never said he's a ~savior of comedy~ in any way
@@equi2523 I see your point, I just think the way he perceives things, there’s a disconnection with reality. No one’s asked him to bow down to other comics and apologize or leave the comedy world. I think it came to that because he went on for so long saying “I don’t know what you’re talking about” “when have I stole a joke” his pride, in my opinion caused his downfall. I think he means well, I don’t think he’s a bad guy, but even saying “oh that’s weird, it is pretty similar to that persons joke, my bad” something genuine- that would make all the difference. I think these comics are so tight with each other because that’s how the community was built. Now you have someone that goes against that community not only on their accusations, but of the reality of things. He did steal some jokes and he did bump people and deny it at the time. I used to think he was funny. But there’s something there that keeps him stuck in time and it’s been 14 years. Yes he’s gotten and still continues to be bombarded with those accusations and bullying, but he blames everyone else. Keeping that never ending cycle of keeping people unhappy with him. He just needs to chill. He’s still young and can turn his life around. I don’t wish anything bad on him but you do need to call out bs when you see it.
It reminds me of mo’nique having that sense of entitlement.

@@steve2394 you don’t know the dialogue they have had since all this happened. You can have love and respect for someone who helped you at a certain time in your life and appreciate it. He was quiet for most of it. He was just pointing out things that comics knew and just wanted him to apologize. It shouldn’t be that hard. He was trying to help him, and Carlos didn’t take the line that was thrown to him. It was crazy.

@@amandamarie740 so well said
Man, I recognize Bobby's exhausted expression, I have a friend just like this. Honestly generally a great guy, super talented, smart, eloquent, thinks of himself as everyone's older brother. But when confronted with certain lies or a pattern of behavior that multiple people have observed, just refuses to back down and apologize. They always just keep bringing up all the good things they've done, and they bring up all the times they've been falsely accused or misunderstood (which btw, they're not wrong about, but it's completely unrelated).
My mom is 58 and it’s barely learning how to take accountability/responsibility for her actions/and behaviors. Those people live a life thinking of themselves as only a victim while doing wrong on others.
the interesting thing about that is, we all kind of have that. It's just the unhealthy degree some people have of that is the problem. too much of anything is bad no? kind of the same thing ?
I have a friend the same exact way. I love him to death. But it’s so frustrating.
47:30 talk about the stealing
I don't know about your friend, but the way Carlos talks about all the ways he supposedly helps people, it makes me feel like he doesn't do it out of completely selfless reasons. He seems like the kind of guy that does things because it makes him feel like a big shot. Think about it. All the stories of the good things he did shows him in a position of power over someone, and he being the benevolent king in the scenario. I think his helping comics is more about his own ego. The vast majority of people that help others never talk about it. Carlos won't shut up about it, which really diminishes his motives to me.
I can’t wait for the next Bad Friends after watching this
Exactly what I was thinking
Duuuuuude you're so right!!! Can't wait!!!!!!!!!
Yep was thinkin the same
On the nail bro, my thoughts exactly. I actually wish he goes on bad friends next. Or they initially did it there. Andrew would have had a blast.
I want to belive it will be talked about again. At the very least a solo Belly recap. Bad Friends would be ideal though. But I'm worried bobby may not want to keep fanning the hate flame for Ned and move on with different topics.
The look on Bobby's and Khalyla's faces throughout the interview when they are trying to give Carlos an out by apologizing is the best part of the episode.
Right? That “cmon bro, really ?” face.
It's deeper than that though. If I genuinely felt I didn't do anything wrong, I wouldn't apologize either.
I feel like Khalyla was looking over each time to check if Bobby was good

@@costco_pizza Because he refuses to even acknowledge what he was doing. He's giving classic answers to divert blame, pretending he wasn't aware of his stealing and asking people to come forward. He's afraid admitting he stole jokes or apologizing for it would somehow make him more guilty. The problem is ironically, his unwillingness to come clean is what made this label stick to him. Just come to grips with the fact that you had a pattern of stepping over the line of comedic influence. Apologize, write new material that's unequivocally original and people will move on.
