    for me, being an alcoholic for a long time....the only time I have gotten help that worked was when my family wasn't mad, wasn't hurt...they weren't disappointed..... it was when they started to feel bad for me. it was when they 'understood' and just stopped fighting and accepted my alocholism, I realized that they weren't filled with hatred but love. they weren't hurt and filled with anger... they were filled with worry about me and pity for me.
    it motivated me to change and I've gone a year at a time without a drink. I cant say I dont drink but, as an example, I'm having one tall boy.....not the case of beer and a 5th of 151 in order to 'be normal'.
    now that its not a big deal with them.... just them hurting for me.... I have nothing but motivation to change my life and have reduced my drinking, slowly and the proper way, while increasing my work ethic so I can be back to the man I used to be.

    This is a great video. The whole concept of loyalty vs. what's right ; be loyal to those who helped you during your time of need ; BUT also realize that the "masters", in both of your respected cases, were and are adults. They chose to do something taboo, you should not be held responsible for their mistakes. See loyalty is sticking with your boss and make 20% less money, rather than starting a new job with a minimal increment in pay but you don't know the guy. At least you know all ins and outs of the old boss ; also the old boss knows your true value....unless you have an toxic relationship with the old boss, then FcuK it.

      @@josephvela4584 Yeah, I enjoyed the tales, but the feeling afterwards can be best described as cognitive dissonance. Mohr always seemed like a fun and chill dude, but he sounds like a dick to work for/with and that's shitty of him to steal Bert's story and claim it as his own. Then there's Mencia, who is basically blacklisted and completely despised because his stealing of jokes was pretty egregious, but he treated Bobby super well and was a totally cool guy to work for/with.
      FWIW regarding Mencia's thievery: Shaffir's claim to the joke, "you can't ban Mexicans because who's going to build the wall?" was bullshit; it was an obvious-as-fuck joke that literally everyone thought up. The Cosby steal, though, was obviously ripping off Cosby's bit because it was like textbook plagiarism; they only replaces one or two words. Instead of Cosby's receiver, it was a quarterback.

    • @specialwhenlit8435
      @specialwhenlit8435 5 років тому +4

      @@technicasualty19 You forgot his classic addition to the end of the bit, "That bitch never taught you how to play!" Brilliant, Ned. That joke's about as well known as the Mona Lisa, and you wrote your name in dog crap at the bottom and tried to claim it.
      I can only imagine what Bobby had to go through working for someone that obviously crazy and egotistical. Glad he had a career after all that. Seriously, though, the real a-hole in that situation (outside of Menstealia, natch) is that producer. If Bobby told him "don't air that" as he says he did, then don't air it, you unethical bastard. We all have back hallway gossip, throwing that into the open was throwing Bobby squarely under the bus and using him as cannon fodder in Joe's ongoing war with Ned. F that predatory producer m-fer, I know these guys have to talk nice about him because they run in the same circles but what he did was jacked up. At least the comedy community saw right through the b.s. "apology" video, even if lots of commenters didn't at the time.

Then when the story got bigger, Bert said to stop telling it, and Jay told it on a Showtime special.
