  • Hello 👋
Welcome to Sam Shutt Farming, daily life on the Hill farm
This is Sam and Oliver plus 4 children farming beef sucklers and sheep in the North Yorkshire/Cumbria border area.
We are first-generation farmers, and we've had no help at all to get to where we are now. We are here to show you our life and what we do. I am also here to show new entrance that it is possible to start from scratch. Being strong-willed, determined, and a lot of hard work, you can do it.
We are both from farming backgrounds. I grew up on a family dairy farm. Milking from a very young age.Working for my uncle when i left school. I've learnt everything from him and grown ever since. I met Oliver when I was 16 he was 15. We started with a few sheep when we met and have built up over the 16 years to where we are now. We took on a 500-acre hill farm in 2019, currently 5 years into the tenancy.
Also, here to show people women can be useful in the agricultural world.😉😁

I hear you Sam, my husband and I have been married for 38 years on July 2 this year. You argue and have bad times, but it all depends on the stress or hardships. I see you and Oliver love each other and work very hard. You have a good outlook, don't change. You two should be very proud of what you have accomplished. Now about that sheep you brought in and it looked like it was seizing, did it make it ok? Or did it die? The area you live is so beautiful. I wish my Steve and I live somewhere like that. We both love England. Steve was born there, and I only lived there between 1964-68. We are both Air Force brats and moved a lot. Have a good day :)

Iam glad someone has noticed the real us 🤣 hardships and stress are always a concern for relationships, but we've been through the worst and making a go for it. No, she didn't make it . We tried. ! We've lost a few sheep this year. Airforce wow ! 👌 one thing we've never done is go anywhere 🤣🤣

Keep up the good work I love your videos.
I just wish your partner would treat you with a bit more respect.
I was quite shocked by his manner in the last video. You deserve better.
I’m from Ireland with a farming background, but nobody in my family would speak to a lady that way and you should demand the same from your family and husband

We all have stressed days, if I put on what I say then be different again. We say what we want to each other. Sometimes hard to hide everything 🤣🤣 I want to put across real life . And this is part of our real life. Arguments and disagreeing is all part of life. 😁😁 thanks for watching 😃😃

Sam your ok sweetheart ❤❤ it’s a couple things said that were not ok. Yes we all have our fights but there is a limit and some things are not acceptable. Oliver your a better man than that and would be a much bigger and wonderful man to treat her as the queen she is! ❤ And Sam obviously love and treat oliver as the king he is and can be ❤. Your a beautiful family and love the farm, keep posting. The good the bad the ugly and wonderful! Your kids are just awesome and you guys are making proper little farmers, 😂❤😂❤

Your living my dream life Sam, I love how you 2 get along Oliver seem to be the grumpy git at times but I’ve a feeling he’s a dry sense of humour and man must have his good fun days for you too keep on married life with him 🤣
You and the whole of the kids and not forgetting Oliver are all doing amazing with the farm and also showing us all what it’s like through highs and lows.

    • @Sam-shutt

He's grumpy because of lambing tired and been a tough winter. When things go well he's great. Money is a weight and worry aswell so he's the boss and carries it all. We get along great and he's really genuine so that's why I said yes 🤣 just can't afford a wedding yet. Absolutely more tough than good times but like you say we're living the dream 😍😍😍

I say don’t make excuses for his disrespect and bad manners. He’s been greatly blessed and should not think that his crude behaviour is the way it is for farm men. It is not and speaks poorly for him as a man, a husband and as an example for his children.

    • @Sam-shutt
      @Sam-shutt  8 днів тому

@@Sam-shutt crossing my fingers for you to get another ten years, you are both putting so much hard work into it.
