Assuming Pacman isn't considered Atari rep, if smash were to try and represent all legendary companies responsible for the existence of games, Atari should at some point get a character too so the idea is there for someone. Most likely not ET (although I would kill for an ET spirit where you fight ridley and there are pitfalls everywhere), but perhaps some abstract symbol from those games.

I visited this historic moment again because someone said that the Byleth announcement was received just as poorly as Terry's on another NYC reaction, and I don't see it. Seems like the Terry trailer had a lot more noise.

This is so awesome. It's great to see that the fans appreciate Terry and were ecstatic about his arrival. I've been impressed with these videos how the NYC crowd has embraced the debut of every character thus far. It's more encouraging than some of the reaction videos I see, honestly.

I really like that people at Nintendo NY knew who Terry was and enjoyed the trailer as much as I did. As a mexican, I can tell you that SNK and all their characters are very appreciated here by the latin american gamer community.

I guarantee a hard 75% of this room had no idea who Terry was before the leak/reveal. HOWEVER that is not a bad thing, because now 100% of this room knows who Terry Bogard is now, and I find that amazing. Smash has so much power and they're using that power to give back to the games that made Smash even a possibility. Smash wouldn't exist without games like Street Fighter, King of Fighters, and other amazing Fighting Games. Sakurai used to play these titles which is why he's paying his respects to the things he loves this way.

Yes I know the early snk in. 80s was big part of my childhood and the neogeo was big part of young adult years and all these games on multiple collection and also 40th anniversary snk collection on switch from them to special edition
It's cool to see SNK seemingly on the upswing since the release of KOF XIV. SamSho came out this year, KOF XV in development.

Terry has always been my favorite since capcom vs snk 2. He’s always been a good character hopefully he has good combos in this game such as ryu and ken who are good as well.

This is so cool to watch all the people get really excited for Terry! I honestly had no idea who he was but I'm just happy that other people got who they wanted! It warms my heart to see them so excited!
I was 11 when Fatal Fury 1 was released and played it both on Arcades (MVS) and on Neo Geo AES. I'm 40 now and watching those guys who weren't even born in 1991 chanting Terry Bogard's name made me cry a bit. Good job, Sakurai!

While i was hoping on my soul for the reveal to be Mai Shiranui, Terry is the mascot of SNK and their entire library of fighters imo. He's one of the first names that comes to mind when you think of SNK Fighting Games. I'm so stoked for his arrival in Smash and hearing this crowd chant Terry's name during the reveal was so nice to hear after everything that went down the week leading up to this. Can't wait!

Terry is now one of my favorite characters thanks to this
As a fun fact, the first game made by the alliance between Capcom and SNK was SNK vs. Capcom: The Match of the Millennium, which was released in November 1999 in North America. Terry Bogard will be released in Smash Ultimate in November 2019, so it would not be crazy to think that for reasons of the 20th anniversary of what that alliance was and that now both companies are reunited in a fighting game (Smash Bros), can appear some song related to this croosover video game series. Personally, This Is True Love Makin' along with Stimulation would be my favorite to be in Smash. It brings me great and beautiful memories! 😎✌🏻

Honestly, I don't know Terry personally because I never played Fatal Fury nor KOF (Though I did play the demo version of Kof14) but having him in smash is a really good choice if I do say so myself. I mean, he is the face of SNK like Sonic is with Sega, Ryu with Capcom, and Cloud with Square Enix.

I’ve never played fatal fury before, but I’m very happy that these people got a wanted character in and I’ll definitely try him out and I’m sure he’ll make a great addition to the roster

After listening to all the negativity about the next reveal being an SNK character, an allegedly "Obscure" game company, I was hoping there would be a video like this after seeing your reaction vids for Hero and Banjo. I was not disappointed. Thank You.

I know nothing about any of these characters, but this reveal got me hella hyped.
I only know SNK for the metal slug series, but the fact that they're getting representation is still really cool.

Why is Terry in Smash Bros?
The King of Fighters series was Sakurai's inspiration to make Super Smash Bros also The King of Fighters series is very popular in Mexico/Latin America so having Terry in Smash Ultimate is more significant than what it seems.
As an SNK fan, seeing this made me happy.

Man, I sure had a blast last year. I stood up so late just to find out if the leak was true and my heart was racing just to find which SNK character is going to be in Smash. I was born in 1994, however throughout my childhood I mostly played arcade games and I own a PlayStation. In the early 2000's emulators started to rise like MAME and Visual Boy and I played a ton of them. I was impressed with the Neo Geo games and I fell in love with Metal Slug and KOF. I'm glad that people younger than me are introduced to a character I main the most in KOF. If you do play any SNK fighting game, prepare yourself for the mid and final bosses.
Time goes by so fast to know that Terry Bogard came to Smash Ultimate a year ago.
