    Hello and thank you for this and I have question pls. When you u made the line with the comb to give that opening you filled with yellow later, did you chill the cake in the fridge to firm up before applying now the yellow to fill the openings and scraping?

      Hiya!! Thanks so much for watching! Yes I refrigerate after the plain coloured layer before applying the yellow. You can skip the fridge stage though... the colours of the lines will just blend slightly! Good luck xx

      Yes,I chill my cake until it's rock hard and then you won't get smudges when scraping afterwards.

    How do you colour your Swiss Meringue buttercream please? I’ve heard it’s very difficult to get it to take gel colour. Thanks

      Either! Just depends on the colour I'm going for/ have at the time!

    Your cakes at the beginning when you were stacking weren’t perfect, but once you crumb coated they were. Did you cut down the sides ?

      The cakes each had their own shape to them. Mine to the same so when I go to do my crumb coat the sides aren’t perfect. I see some professionals actually take a serrated knife and cut down the sides to make it perfect.

      @@intothemystic3922 oh ok. They're all the same size and I never trim my edges. The more buttercream you add the more uniform your cake will look. Hope that helps! X

      @@ariannescakehouse ok yes I understand. I’ll fill in the uneven spaces with buttercream but wasn’t sure if cutting was the better way. I’m sure I’d screw that up!!

      Where are you based hun? They're literally everywhere. I think mine were from Amazon (pme brand) and they're acrylic but there's someone called Esther Cakes and her combs are metal, think she's based in the states! Xx

      Hmmmmm probably not, unless you've used a stabiliser. The initial layer needs to set hard for this method to work! Xx

      Stabilized whipped cream would work but not regular whipped cream :)
