That Joe Buck call "We'll see you later tonight!" was far and away the greatest. I had just finished University in 2004 and didn't miss a pitch of the postseason. Chills just seeing the replays!
my favorite has always been "Damon runnin to the plate and he can keep on runnin to New York. Game 6 tomorrow night". But I was also too young to remember to remember that season, only 6 year old.
Both of those calls “we’ll see you later tonight” and “Damon can keep on running to New York” we’re the best. The Game 4 Homer I stayed up with my dad to watch the whole game, I was in grade 8 at the time and my friend was a die hard Yankees fan. It was a fun series for me to say the least
@@tommyo2450 well you may be disappointed to know he stole his best calls from his dad. Namely the David freeze game in 2011. Jack made the original iconic call after the Kirby Puckett game in 1991. Only mentioning cause I fucking hate joe buck
This one guy was the difference between opponents respecting the Sox and being afraid of them. So glad I followed the Sox since I was a kid in the '60s and was privileged to watch this man hit baseballs.
What a nice video with all of the great walk-off hits by David Ortiz throughout his Red Sox career!!! What an amazing career he had as a member of the Red Sox!!!
He’s the GOAT Red Sox player. Nothing against the all-time greats like Teddy, Rice, Fisk, etc. but this guy was a major factor in bringing 3 championships to Beantown including the curse breaker!
MLB can't prove he used PEDs, or at least they refuse to show the proof they supposeably have. And now it's been 15 years since the Mitchell report was released. I'm beginning to think that such evidence does not exist. Otherwise, why not just tell what you know? Also, there's a little thing called innocent until proven guilty. Ever heard of it?
@@Soxruleyanksdrool He failed the 03 test LOL. George Mitchell report was bs and protected Red Sox players. Manny got caught 3x. Why was it never mentioned? He failed the 03 test with his boy Ortiz, why was it never mentioned 🤔
I was at the Red Sox vs Texas game on June 11, 2006, game 1 of a doubleheader, it was like a movie script, the Red Sox were down by 1 and Ortiz had a full count and 2 men on. He just barely foul tipped the pitch before this, everyone at Fenway was pretty much expecting him to hit a homer in but it looked like he’d struck out. However he correctly knew that he foul tipped it and got another chance with a full count. Very next pitch he sent to the bullpen! The place went absolutely bananas it was pandemonium. One of the best sporting events I’ve ever attended!
Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU! My sister in law a Red Sox fan like myself, got her, myself and my two brothers (who are Phillies fans) tickets to the June 24, 2006 game against the Phillies. It was Curt Schilling vs Brett Myers. It was Myers first or second game back after being suspended for domestic abuse and Schilling struck out 10. Now the Phils lead most of the game and my brothers were ragging on me about it and I kept saying, "just sets up for ortiz in extras." Mike Lowell hits a game tying home run in the 7th or 8th and then...well go to 9:14 to see what happened. my brothers were so mad "I dont know what's worse his ridiculous prediction or that it came true." I've been looking for the video of it for a decade now and it simply has been nowhere to be found
September 12, 2007 was my first ever game. I was sat maybe 15 rows behind peskys pole (towards our retired numbers) I was 6 but the memory is so vivid. Ortiz had a 3 run homerun earlier in that game and the walk off was a 2 run shot. He accounted for all our Runs that day. We beat the Devil Rays 5-4.
Was at the game against the Rays when he hit 2 out to reach 500. The crowd's reaction sounded as if we were in Fenway. (Always way more of us Sox fans at Rays games.) David has to be the greatest DH of all time. Senor Clutch.
The man's batting average in thr 2013 World Series was .688. The only reason it's not higher - and at one point it was - is because in Game 6, St. Louis walked him intentionally three times. INTENTIONALLY. THREE TIMES. IN ONE. SINGLE. GAME. I mean...bruh....
They were calling him the Red Sox greatest clutch hitter of all time in ‘06. He then proceeded to do it for another 10 years. Man I was blessed to watch him play in a Sox uniform

You'll have to forgive my hang ups on technicalities. But I believe that was October 18th and October 18th of 2004 with walk offs. Or did that 2nd game(which started at 5PM since it was a make up date and the NL played at 8PM) also end after midnight? Amazing series. Amazing player.
