As an Australian, I think I understand why we get along with South Africans so much! This video made me smile, the frankness, the openness and the odd colourful word!
Fuel consumption on my Jolion is 6.5l/100km @120km/h on Eco mode urban/combined. So all these high fuel consumption iterations are untrue and based on Sports mode which all manufacturers consume high fuel regardless.
Give us a better engine and I'm sold!! I'm loving how the Chinese are making all the other brands look at their products and putting them to shame. Try get all this tech in a German vehicle!!! You'll end up paying an additional 100 - 200k for all the extras. The Chinese give you everything for a reasonable price. This is how it should be. Hope the others learn from them.
One of my colleagues purchased one. I am a brand-snob but this car seriously impressed me, like blew me away. A lot of car for the money. Juliet, you missed beeping out a F-Bomb there, hahahahahaha!
Got one, and understand your excitement Juliet. It is just an amazing car. EVERYBODY that I have shown the car to is surprised once they experience the inside. Fuel consumption after 5000km's average 7.8 L/100KM, so not the greatest, even brand new I got less than 10L/100km in town so not sure how you are driving :)
After watching the video a second time I thought I should add a few comments. Looking at your instrument cluster i noted that the car has done less than 1000km and are in Sport mode. This will definitely contribute to high petrol usage. You have 4 modes to choose from (Sport/Normal/ECO/Snow) and your comment on the engine not feeling refined probably has to do with the fact that you are in Sport mode as the refs are un needlessly high and waits for you to put your foot down. In normal and ECO it perfectly chooses the correct gear. ECO does feel in town a bit sluggish, but not on open road.
Juliet I bullshit you not when I tell you you NEED To drive the H6. I bought a lux a month ago and I am super happy. This is the best car from the Chinese. I have premium and yes fuel consumption was so high I was getting around 13L/100km but now I'm on 3000km and ranging around 10l/100km so I do believe that after 5000km I will be getting that 7.1L/100km they are claiming
I feel sorry for the manufacturers who push the smaller volumes (Mitsubishi, Renault, Honda, etc) , these Havals (and the GWM P-Series) is totally disrupting the market share for them. As for the other guys (Toyota, VW, et al) they may lose a few, but not a significant number of customers. As for longevity and reliability, let's see in 4 years. But I'm happy for this disruption in the market. It does raise the question as to "what am I really paying" for with the other more established manufacturers
@@vvr881 Very unlikely as the Chinese brands have only been getting better and better and now the older brands just can’t compete with the safety tech and style and space and comfort for the price that China can manufacture for still using the same steel the same Bosch electronics and the design been done by people who used to work for range Rover

Hello I have a question please if anyone can answer me cuz I’ve even searched for it to find videos to help me however I couldn’t find any, my question is that how do you turn off the lane assist in haval jolion?
I watched another video of some Ozzie reviewing the H6 and Jolion and he says we recommends that we not buy these cars until a crash test has been conducted.
@@69ssj It's actually nothing about Haval in particular or even them being Chinese. In fact, many modern Chinese cars have just as good safety performance, if not better, than rivals. The problem is, we can never say that we're getting the same car in markets like SA or India. The H6 was crash-tested by the Australasian NCAP last week and achieved five stars, but for all we know the car sold in SA could be completely different under the skin. For example, the Kia Seltos scored very well in the Australasian NCAP in 2019 barely scored a three star Global NCAP rating for adult protection in India (bordering on two stars, in fact) and it was discovered that the Seltos that's sold in Africa and India is a completely different car that just looks like a Seltos. The only manufacturers so far in Africa who have shown consistent safety performance across markets are Mahindra, Mazda, Toyota and Honda. In India you could add Volkswagen and Tata. The recent Renaults (Kiger, Triber) did well too but the Kwid for India and Africa has consistently done worse than the South American one. The Haval being a direct import from China I have high expectations but they need to have it tested locally under #SaferCarsForAfrica project. Manufacturers are allowed to pay for a test in case Global NCAP doesn't pick it up themselves, but the last time they tested a Haval (H1) they refused to engage with Global NCAP whatsoever, not even providing the necessary information for the test (child seats, etc.). That's why I'm worried.
Ooh my word. Ive been looking at cars i first went to Haval jolion and I love it. Then went to kia loved the seltos. I cant choose. 😩 also my concerns were will the value drop precipitously in case I want to sell it? I really love the fact that it has standard sunroof like that. I really like this car but also like Kia
Interesting how some swear words are blipped and some aren't. On other news, people in SA don't buy cars for value but rather for statement. Most people will intentionally not buy Jolion because they don't want to be seen in a car that everyone knows is cheap.
Very good point. Jolion has everything that you would want in a car. But obviously South Africans will buy a VW/ BMW just to impress people, then complain about expensive maintenance for their shitty German cars.
@@bailemagana4263 very much true, the funny thing about cars is it’s only the first few months when everything is fun and utility is at its high. After that you’re stuck with high monthly payments.

Hi Juliet. Thanks for the great videos. Your reviews are always different to every other review that is the reviewer basically saying the same things as each other. My 2c on the Haval: Don't underestimate the fuel cost. Compared to a rival like a Mazda CX-5 that can easily do 8/100km, this Haval will cost R145,000 more on fuel over 200 000KM (if it will get there in the first place). That is with current fuel prices which will surely only go up so it will get worse for the Haval. That R145 000 extra will put you in a near top of the range Mazda CX-5 and is far more established, refined, better parts availability and a much better resale value. It's a similar story with Toyota, Kia, etc. The only thing the Haval has got going for it is some gimmicky tech and if we know anything about cars over the last few years, the tech never ages well. So in the end you are not really saving and will likely lose out come resale time.
If you already found a girl you fall in love at first sight and want to marry with, why keep calculating the divoce cost, especially there aren't many assets
In australia the mazda c5 will cost a lot for the car about 7 thousand dollars at least so that argument is out the window , i have had a chinese car before and it did well over 200,000klm/ when my chinese car gets to 200,000 its paid for itself
Haval have been making cars for 12 years now and they’re the biggest selling SUV in China. The Jolion has now sold more than other SUVs in the Australian market here and the GWM Ute has now become one of the best selling Utes also this week. I’ve heard much worse reviews about key is and Hyundai is that I have from any of the Haval reviewers paper with the H9 and h2 still say they are going strong
i enjoy your honest reviews , ten minutes of you swearing and having fun is cool. maybe though , make list of talking points so you dont forget stuff. (the engine from the h2 and this joilion are a 25 year old mitsubishi design, i do suspect the joilion facelift will bring a different newer engine.) if i bought one of these , i would def get the computer chipped and the exhaust derestricted. the H6 review will also be good. it has a similar dash and touchscreen but they changed the problem with the touch sensitive air con buttons.
Seems a few people have made that mistake thinking this was an old Mitsubishi engine it turns out that’s not correct at all there are parts of that engine that are nothing like a Mitsubishi engine at all it is actually based on a Toyota engine
@@wcrash9361 I think you're confusing the H1 and the H2, the H1 architecture is pretty much Toyota yaris/Daihatsu materia, engine/ front wheel drive /computer, loads of parts. The H2 uses different parts, the original block is similar to the old Mitsubishi 1.5 liter non turbo motor. It also uses a different gearbox. The h1 gearbox is practically identical to the one in a Yaris. The brakes and steering are interchangeable with a materia. The H2 is not.

The H2 uses different parts, the original block is similar to the old Mitsubishi 1.5 liter non turbo motor. It also uses a different gearbox. The h1 gearbox is practically identical to the one in a Yaris. The brakes and steering are interchangeable with a materia. The H2 is not.
Havel's just get better.
i give this woman shit about her music taste but shes the best at the car review game
Nice reviews you've got and I like them (and the swearing).
Only downside for me is the amount of uncertainty you've got here. Try coming well prepared and remove the use of the term "I think". Because it is us as average consumers that are uncertain and hence we watch these videos.
Yay!! We asked, and you came through!🖤🔥
Beautiful shell , weak engine.
Hahaha wow... Haval makes you throw the F bomb and not for the same reasons the H1 made me throw the F bomb.
haha - tell it like it is girl !!
