I don’t think Disney can stay ahead. It’s all about IP and branding. And all their brands and IP are on burning platforms. Marvel, classic Disney live action remakes and SW. a few are doing well, but most aren’t. People are logging out, trust has been broken between consumer and brand. Especially religious people have given up their subscription and avoid it at all cost because it constraints with their message. And most people are really tired of being let down again and again. To restore trust they have to do so well. And I don’t believe they can. Staying mediocre isn’t gonna sell it. Give it a few years, unless a miracle happens
I fail to see where subscriptions and religious women factor into your observation of the Parks and Resorts side of The Walt Disney World Company. Are you talking about changes to Annual Passholder memberships for the subscription side of things or referring to Disney+, which is a whole separate division of the company. Let it be clear, this video isn’t saying Disney as a company might come crashing down, only that the parks are in a bit of a pickle. WDC stock is following the same trend as most other S&P stock and even with the streaming bubble popped, Disney has assets and investments that keep them well on top. While Parks, Experiences and Products accounted for 7.91 Billion in operating income in 2022 and Media and Entertainment only 4.22 Billion, the distribution of revenue is an entirely different story with 28.71 Billion to the former and 55.04 Billion to the later. The real danger comes with what happens to Disney when the perception of the magic goes away and that is what leaves the parks on shaky ground. Dare I even ask where religious women come into play in your analysis? I mean it’s not as if the Walt Disney Company has been this shining beacon of morality with Walt himself union busting back in the early days and rampent exploitative practices exposed throughout the years and that is coming from someone who is a shareholder. Disney has become great at keeping a perception of itself but what happens when the rose colored glasses come off. Time will tell I guess.
