Thanks Mr. Briggs for reviewing these, couldn’t find a decent full review on UA-cam. a couple questions: should I do all my jumps in training in these, as well as my sprinting training for jumping? Or should I use regular sprint spikes for sprint training. Because I’m wondering if I need to get used to sprinting in them by using them in sprints
Thanks for the video 🙂 this Nike for a Mizuno lover it's nice alternative. We need more long jump vids, trainings, tips etc etc ✌️💪 Back in my teen days I used to rock spikes out of track.. heads were spinning 🤪 Keep up the good work.. These kids is everything 💪
As a collegiate Jumper who’s had experience with both the new long jump and sprints shoes, I will have to say this is a track meet shoe. I do not recommend training in these shoes because they lose some of their performance-enhancing aspects through wear and tear. I use older version shoes when training because they help with ankle stiffness and reaction. I use newer version for meet prep and the meet itself.
Personally I did not like these shoes when I used them for pole vault, I liked my Nike pv elites better but that makes sense because they aren’t meant for pole vault. They do however feel more bouncy and you do feel faster in them. I was using the Nike long jump elite proto, same shoe as in the video. I did like them for long jump though,
Do you review products mainly for young and senior athletes? If you’re to review for Vets & Master Athletes (over 35’s) - would your review pointers be different in any form?
How would they be for the triple jump? I do both long and triple + a bunch of speed work in practice, so do you think these would be better or the triple jump elites? The air zoom unit is super appealing, but idk how well they'll hold up in the triple jump.
Excellent review. What is the difference between wearing Nike Air Zoom elite vs Adidas JUMPSTAR? 2 questions for you on this if you don’t mind. - the heel cup area of the shoe. Is it soft or has it got a stiff material? And does the shoe when tightened - does it cling into the ankle too tightly? - with my intermittent achilles issues. Is the sole area padded enough for the ankle, achilles & the heel area? Thanks
@@keinanbriggs This was the 2nd part of the previous question Keinan. - with my intermittent & continuous inflammation of the achilles and the surrounding tendons. Is the sole area padded enough for protection of the ankle, achilles & the heel area?
Are they true to size? Colors look different in store but assume it’s the same shoe. Currently using the pair you compared them to and love them. Will buy these as well.
Hey just got these off the clearance sale from nike and they have that glove fit like every spike but these seem a bit narrow. I have like 3/4 an inch of extra space would this be fine? It's too late for a size exchange as it's sold out in all these sizes but just would like to know? And would it be safe to jump in 1/8 spikes?
So for a decathlete, a triple jump shoe for LJ and PV would be best? And a high jump shoe for HJ and JT? Which HJ shoe would be best to use for both HJ and JT?
Great question: this generation of shoes, long jump are great PV shoes. I’m still leaning towards having separate shoes for HJ and JT but if you are limited, Nike elite HJ would be a good shoe.
Not enough support and the sole of the shoe isn't flat enough. By the sole not being one piece is creates a break in the transition from heel to forefoot

I say use these for sprint training too. If you also sprint as an event buy a sprint pair.

This is great feedback. Yes this is my first year with athletes wearing them and I am assessing the wear and tear.

As far as performance, what would be the difference between the nike elite and the nike rival???
The LJ Elite has been known to have the air pocket pop and the shoes will directly affect your performance negatively.
@@keinanbriggs thanks
Thanks for this review it helped me a lot
Thank you so🙏🏽
Do you do form reviews Mr. Briggs?
Yes they are called Digital video analysis. They are for purchase on my website. Keinanbriggs.com
Do you review products mainly for young and senior athletes? If you’re to review for Vets & Master Athletes (over 35’s) - would your review pointers be different in any form?
They would be the same.. old young new and vets

DO NOT triple in long jump spikes. If you do. It’s horizontal jumps always get the triple jump spikes.
Hey Keinan! Do you know if they restock these? Been dying to get my hands on them but I can’t find any sizing that’d work for womens
It's always tough to find older spikes. They typically change the color so they can mark up the price. Try google searching the SKU#
Excellent review.

- with my intermittent achilles issues. Is the sole area padded enough for the ankle, achilles & the heel area?
Thanks
Jumpstar is a poorly made spike. It’s a generic version of the real deal. I bought them and broke them in two track meets
The second part of the question I’ll make a video
@@keinanbriggs
That would be excellent!!
I don't see your second part of your question in this thread anymore

Yes Nike runs true yet narrow
@@keinanbriggsshe currently wears the same orange ones your comparing the Nike Zoom Elites to in this video. She is 8.5 should I stick with that ?

I feel it’s best to get shoes that fit you. Also the length of the spike will depend on the surface you are working on. 3/16-1/8 are fine

Hi, where did you buy these please? Thanks
Vs athletics.com or Nike.com
Are these fine for sprinting events? I don't have the budget to buy multiple pairs of spikes for different events.
Yep. You’ll be fine
Why or why not would you recommend these for triple jump in a addition to long jumping in these spikes?
not supportive enough and can cause injury. I have a video called "triple jump spikes explained" watch that to get a full explanation my friend.
What are the triple jump model of these spikes? The ones Romas won in woman's TJ
Nike Triple Jump Elite 2!!
@@tfranklin1500 thank you so much, on my way to another age group record in my sights
Big fan bro
Could i use them as sprint spikes? Or for hurdles
Yes. They are a little more on the bulky side but yes. I would recommend investing in sprint spikes for hurdles
If the air bubble pops, can I still jump in it?
no, it will risk injury
can i use this shoes running on the street ?
No
why cant these be used for triple jump?
Not enough support and the sole of the shoe isn't flat enough. By the sole not being one piece is creates a break in the transition from heel to forefoot
Can these shoes be worn for hurdles?
honestly, yes but they are heavy
Can I run hurdles with these??
I would not recommend it however you can yes.

Men’s or women’s?
It was the Women long jump
