That extended Energizer commercial was voted one of the greatest commercials of all time. Well deserved too.
Brilliant marketing!
Great trip down memory lane. Thanks for 1989.
This was recorded on my 5th birthday 🥳
All Dogs Go to Heaven…Kind of sad to think a majority of the main cast are gone - Burt Reynolds, Dom Deluise, Judith Barsi, Vic Tayback, Charles Nelson Reilly and Ken Page (aka the Big Lipped Alligator). Hopefully not just dogs go there.
FOX 66? That's one of the highest channel numbers we ever saw for a FOX affiliate!!!
Looks like we found the very beginning of a LONG series of Energizer ads!
November 1989, I was a high school senior.. Great times
I haven't had crunch n munch in a pretty long time. Not sure how I'd like it now.
Only in the 80s could a movie like Secret of My Success be made. Kid leaves Kansas for New York to be a Yuppie, gets seduced by a woman who turns out to be his Aunt and she’s so attracted to him that she doesn’t care, gets a job in the mailroom of his Uncle’s company, fakes a corporate bigwig identity without anyone knowing, and winds up with a fortune and the woman he loves (not his aunt). It’s the 80s corporate fantasy.
I remember a lot of trivia from the 80s, however I had no Idea until tonight that MJ did a California Raisins spot.
Three O’Clock High was actually produced by Steven Spielberg, as an attempt to cash in on the teen comedy craze of the 80s. However, he was disappointed with the final film, so he took his name off the movie, and his involvement was never advertised.
9:58 - I bet this kid can’t wait to move out…Just let him drink the orange juice!
This was just three days after my parents got married.
Was that Kipp Lennon providing the singing voice for Jackson, as he did the singing on the episode of The Simpsons where Jackson appeared. (“Stark Raving Dad”.) as well as providing the singing for “Michael Jackstone” on The Flintstone Kids.
Pilsbury Soft Breadsticks- Hearing the Pilsbury Doughboy sing in this commercial, I would advise him to not quit his day job and just stick to baking bread and desserts.
Tropicana Pure Premium Orange Juice- I wonder if it really works in real life to stick a straw into an orange and drink the juice that way.
The California Raisins- Michael Jackson translates impressively well into both a Raisin Character and a Claymation version of his human self in the Claymation world in this commercial.
Looks like a young Patricia Heaton in the Anacin commercial ( 14:22 )
The Secret Of My Success-loved the title theme by Night Ranger
All Dogs Go To Heaven-r.i.p Judith,Burt and Dom
100% Orange Juice-maybe it was Tropicana
Predator-new film"Badlands" coming soon
Three O'clock High-"Don't F-CK this up,Mitchell!!!!"
