Thanks very much Peter. Yes, it really is a spectacular castle and must have been a very mighty fortress indeed when it was intact. The location is really spectacular too. Hope you have a lovely weekend and thanks for taking the time to comment. All the best, David
Thanks Martyn, really appreciate you taking the time to comment :-) Yes, it's in the most fantastic spot. I didn't realise that you could sit right next to the fire until I left, and you get the most amazing panoramic views from there too, so that's the spot to pick. Thanks for your support. Best wishes, David
Hi Lauren, thanks so much for getting in touch. I absolutely love the cafe and really enjoyed my coffee & roll. The views are just amazing and using the shipping containers is such a brilliant idea. I hope my wee video brings you some extra business. Thanks for commenting and hope to see you again soon. Best wishes, David :-)
Memories of a wonderful walk from North Berwick to Dunbar in 1995 in beautiful weather - even though it was February! No cafe here then - but we were able to have a good look round. Captivating place.
Hi Tom, your walk sounds wonderful and how lucky you were to get such nice weather in February. I'm really looking forward to getting back to East Lothian soon when the lockdown ends. I've really missed it. Hope you have a lovely week and thanks for commenting, it's much appreciated. Best wishes, David
@@DavidWheaterScotland We love East Lothian. I used to be a visiting trainer at the Scottish Fire Service Training School which in those days was at Gullane and had many long walks around the area. On that February walk, we actually got a suntan, but after the sun went down it was freezing cold - especially so because we were soaking wet as the tide had risen at Belhaven Bay. I had to carry the wife through about a metre of water then go back for the dogs! Your post has triggered many wonderful memories, so big thanks.
@@tombowen6430 Hi Tom, I've passed the Fire Service building many times, Gullane is a lovely town. Thank goodness you were able to escape the rising tide, it can come in very quickly. Yes, the Scottish climate is a contrary one. As I write, I'm sitting in full sun enjoying a bright blue sky, but, if the forecast is correct, it'll be another winter wonderland by the end of the day. My wife goes into hospital for an operation tomorrow, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed there won't be too much snow. Living semi-rurally, we have a small 4x4 so I'll be putting all my faith in it! I'm so glad the video has brought back so many good memories. When I started the channel I knew my videos would have a very limited audience, so I decided that I'd just make the videos I want to make and lock away precious memories for myself & my family. When other people enjoy them it really makes it worthwhile and I'm very grateful. I've got lots of videos I've already made waiting to be released when we're over the worst of the epidemic. I run a handful of small businesses with my wife and they've all ground to a halt, but we're staying positive and determined to keep going, because there are better times ahead and everything passes. Thanks again for your kind words. Best wishes, David :-)
@@DavidWheaterScotland Best wishes for a quick recovery for your wife and things getting back to normal for your businesses. I’ll look out for your future videos - We’ve had good times on the west coast too at F.William, Arisaig, Mallaig also at Kinloch Rannoch.
Hi Jim, yes, there were only a handful of people there last week, which was really nice. I think winter can sometimes be the best time to visit place like Tantallon. The cafe is great and what a location! Thanks again for you support. Best wishes, David
Hi Jodie, it’s a fabulous castle to visit in the most amazing location. If you combine it with a visit to Seacliff Beach it makes a wonderful day out. Hope you have a lovely week and thanks so much for watching. All the best, David
Thanks Marcela, much appreciated. It's a wonderful castle, one of my favourites in the whole of Scotland and I can thoroughly recommend visiting, especially if you combine it with a visit to lovely North Berwick. Best wishes, David :-)
My ancestors lived here. So grateful to get to see it! This is more of it than I've ever seen in a video.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!
Hi Barbara, wow - that's amazing! I'm so glad I made the film now. Really glad you enjoyed it. Best wishes, David :-)
My Ancestors lived there, my DNA has been studied, frightening now..
That’s an amazing ruin. Thanks for the tour. It must have been an impressive castle when it was complete!

Hi David, loved your video! I actually served you in Drift and made your coffee! Glad you enjoyed your breakfast and we hope to see you again soon!

I honestly had no idea there was even a café there. It looked like you had the castle pretty much to yourself! Great video as always
