Vid wasn't too long at all. You're super talented, both in the design of the the lamp and in the directing and editing of the video. Definitely going to be looking out for more of your videos!
Omg! This lamp is bad ass! I would love it for my office! If you like doing concrete projects you should definitely enter the quick Crete contest they have going on.
Hi Leah! I gotta come up with a way to pick someone randomly haha. I got pretty excited for that competition until I read it's for redoing a walkway haha. Thanks for watching! -Pat
No chances are I read the wrong information haha, I must have come across an older competition. I'll have to look into it again. Thanks for the heads up Leah! Also, i'm sure your stepdad would love to teach you how to operate the table saw! Trust me, he'll love that you want to learn how to make stuff. Always be alert, know where your hands are relative to the blade, keep your material pinned to the fence and you're good to go! -Pat
You'll grow from strength to strength. Try doing collaborations with other youtubers. Although your design ability is way above the crowd. Have you thought of doing the quikcrete 1 bag challenge and what software do you use to edit and to show dimensions etc?
Holy crap even your sketch of the lamp looks aesthetic af..font and everything. The lamp would match my room's monochrome vibe so much, I love it! Keep at it man!!
Nice project man! Quick tip :- you can vibrate the air bubbles out of concrete with a palm/sheet sander held against the mold, I've also seen people reciprocating saw for this too although those can be a bit violent if not used with care.
Awesome piece of DIY! Concrete is such a versatile and beautiful material. I like that the lamp looks floating from a 45 degree angle. Keep up the great work! I want to study product design and your channel is a gem!
You will love product design, it is the coolest career in the world haha. Looking at it from a 45 is my favorite too, thanks so much for watching and thanks for the support! -Pat
Much appreciated Daniel seriously it means a lot. The channel is slowly but surely growing, we'll get there one day! Thank you for watching and thank you for the support. -Pat
Very well done! Im a woodshop instructor in San Jose looking to give my students a challenge after a brief electrical unit. I'll have a few teams giving this a try. Thanks.
Patrick Soriano I attend Cedarville University which is a pretty small school in Ohio. The industrial design program is tiny with about thirty students a class. Recently, an article was published ranking the top industrial design programs in the nation. Somehow, my little university pulled a solid 5th best program in the nation. www.collegevaluesonline.com/rankings/industrial-design-degrees-top-undergraduate/
Don't be so down on your video making! (i.e. "messy" audio missing a step) 99% of the viewers wouldnt have noticed or cared until you brought it up. Amazing job! Great quality build and video!
Appreciate the feedback Micah! I was just trying to save my butt because I know how harsh the UA-cam community can be when it comes to mistakes like that but yeah you're totally right! Thanks for watching bro! Pat
That's rad, Pat. Keep making these great videos, man. I'll PM you about your software - I really dig the animated effects you're using and I'm a lightweight when it comes to Premiere/After Effects stuff.
This came up on my feed and the thumbnail caught my eye. I've since watched your other vids and I love your style-that being your designs and videography. Sweet channel man.
Cool design. One idea so that you can completely using a standard lightbulb is to use a colored LED strip and stick it to the bottom edge of the wood. May give the project a cooler look.
Lismarie thank you so much! Yeah the material combo is one of my favorite things about this build. I'll do my best to keep putting out some cool content! -Pat
