@@LBdreamin @GeeEee75 The dog has to be the leader in scent detection because they have to work independently from the handler. If the dog takes cues from the handler (even if they're inadvertent on the part of the handler), the dog might give a false alert. So, the handler's job is to tell the dog to search, and then follow the dog's lead (because obviously the dog is the one who knows if there's something to find!)

Yes, the card is a legal document, however, that doesn't do any good if half the population can't read. There has to be a better, less time consuming way to accomplish the declaration process!

hi border security, I have a question. I've been travelling in and out a lot through the past 20 years. Early the 90s and 2000 every time the plane coming from overseas is sprayed with insecticide when it comes to land. But in the recent years i've travelled, i've never seen they are doing that any more. Why? Shouldn't Australia need to be more precautious against the increase number of travellers nowadays bring diseases to Australia?

Most Singaporeans don't have tattoos? Tell that to the massive amounts of them i see on the streets here...lol. As for the Singaporean in this clip...sigh...it doesn't matter cause you committed the crime in SG and you didn't tell them on the card.

This program was recorded 20+ years ago, so maybe it wasn't common at that time. I don't know, but they said he had only been out of prison for 7 months.

@@KratosThesh14what has this to do with discrimination? So you came up with 70% because you have lived in Singapore for 70 years?

SO How does someone prove they changed their ways and Attitude, when you find out they have broken the Law in the past, and they feel they should be allowed into your country? Tell me when your own citizens break your laws , Do you Kick them out of the Country until you feel they should be left back in??? Let's say you left the gentlemen back in and they broke the Law, Then Kick him out for 3 yrs or whatever it is, and then IF ??? he tries to get back in before those 3 years are up, then go tell him to pound sand, you aren't getting in....... Who made you GOD to decide that someone that is Legitimately trying to change their ways, Isn't trying to change their ways???

Yes, but it's been less than a year. What track record can he show them? Five convictions vs. several months legal behaviour. His travel plan is wander around drinking? He's not strongly motivated to visit this destination. He's not going to be like Omg. I love Australia so much.

The guy was trying to hide his past convictions, essentially lying to border patrol. How can you claim this man is trying to be a better person when he can't even be upfront about his past.

He should have been honest with his legal declaration about past criminal record. That alone is a red flag. Besides, he's entering Aus so he has to abide with Aus laws.

@@bluetamarind7642 Like I asked Previously, when Australians break the law Are they Kicked out until the legal system feels they should be left back in. BTW If you break the Law, How do you even Get a VISA in the 1st place. If it is felt you are Honest enough for a Visa then you are Honest enough to travel

Yes not fair to that Singaporean. He may have made a genuine mistake. After all he did admit to criminal charges (drugs) etc - probably in his teens or early 20’s. If he’s served his time and changed for the better, why not allow him in? It’s been more than a decade since his last offence.
