    How to downgrade your seller account to regular account. You can still sell less than 5 items per month and only pay for those listings. Just don't cancel your store, only downgrade. I went to setting (circular wheel top right), then Account information, then on the far right bottom under Account Management is the option Downgrade. That takes you to another page and from there you can click downgrade. See my following post on how to get your money back.

    I didn't get a refund. And making matter worse, they charged me a monthly subscription for a different market I never applied to sell on. Be wary when signing to sell on Amazon.

    Amazon is ridiculous. So if you are a new seller chances are you won't be selling 40+ items a month and it makes no sense to pay $40 for a professional seller account. Yet they force you to subscribe to it and have a link which takes you to a page saying you can downgrade to individual seller plan for 99 cents per item. Why is there no option for individual selling plan in the first place? So you sign up and then forget about it after failing to find the downgrade option in the Amazon website maze which has no actual human support?

    as you have not done it you dont realize the most single important issue is not being able to do so but downgrading without terminating your account entirely which is what is the next step after you click downgrade.

    I accidentally created a pro but downgraded to basic the next day, 4 days later and Amazon are STILL trying to take £30 from my account, the downgrade is still pending and they said it takes 14 days,I'm trying to list things but it keeps saying 'there's a problem with your account' I've been on chat 3 times and they keep saying they don't know why 🤦‍♀️

      You might need the pro to create products, not 100% sure though.

    I remember selecting an option that said CANCEL SUBSCRIPTION and after I did that it showed me that the next month will be downgraded to the INDIVIDUAL PLAN, the problem was that for some reason my account was placed on hold and I've been trying to get it reactivated, they always ask me the same questions and say they will contact "the account specialist" and I should receive and email and I never receive anything, I even emailed Amazon Verification address and I just get the confirmation they received my email but they never respond telling me what's going on. So the thing is since I dont have access to my account I can't request my refund and I'm getting frustrated. Any suggestions? I would really appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

    Hi Adam, it seems they've changed it. It not possible now to email them. I followed ur steps, but there was no option for "still need help?" plus I can't email them. There was no option for that or may be it's because my acc was suspended due to my bank acc statement.     Sept. 2020 -Did all this right after accidently subscribing to Amazon Australia (right before they charged me even), their policy is not to refund. I wasted 2 days asking. I know of another case where the subscription fee was not refunded. A sellers forum search showed there were a few cases with no positive outcomes.

    Hi Adam, I write to Amazon seller support, they said Mexico marketplace there is not individual selling plan, it will automatically close 120 days later, after I downgrade US and CA marketplace. They will continue charge me $39.99 in the following 4 months, what should I do? Pls kindly help me!

      If you don't want to pay the $40/month, sounds like you can't sell on Mexico. That's good to know, but honestly I don't know anything else about Amazon.mx

    Is this for zero sales, or minimal sales? If I've sold only a few items, will the refund still be offered? Secondly, what happens to inventory already at FBA? Is it destroyed and i'm charged per unit? Thanks!

      Zero sales. They won't do anything to your inventory. You just get downgraded to the individual account, so you pay and extra $1 in fees when you sell a unit.

      Thanks a lot for the response. nop I have not even start selling lol I was just setting up my account and use Pyoneer as a bank info and got my seller info confirm ( they sent me the code to my phone) then I couldnt finish the process because I didnt have my EIN number and now reserching more etc I found how to open a real bank account in the USA from Canada so I want to use that one so I wonder if it will be risky to change it right away ( even If I havent finalize set up my seller account ) or if I should be fine just using the new bank account . ! thanks a lot

    Great Video Adam but I when I emailed them for a refund they keep emailing me back saying my account is deactivated therefore they cant respond to my emails..this puts me in a "no win" situation..I'm going in circles...any ideas?

      You'd have to get your account reactivated which probably requires you to verify who you are by uploading documents

      I wanted to do the same thing... I'm having problems trying to create a listing because the upc barcode I'm trying to use isn't registered in their system. Thyw want me to use the gs1 website and pay another 250 fee to use barcodes... Ive been trying to list my product for 2 weeks... I wanted to downgrade also but that message saying my account will be terminated scares me.. I did a Google search and from my understanding, you won't be able to sell anything for 120 days. I don't think your account will be terminated. Ppl are saying it's a scare tactic that Amazon is using because they want ppl to keep paying the subscription for professional accounts. I would reach out to customer service just to be sure.

      You need to 1. Add your product to your inventory on Amazon. 2. Create a shipping plan and Amazon tells you to where to send it to.
