Better get the DeepMind12 ,12 voice polyphony!!!!! killer fx,amazing sound.Dont limit yourself for that amount of money with 4 voice polyphony.I understand if it's around 500€ I won't comp,Qin,but for 1000€ four polyphony,no thanks.
just bought one for $600 like new on reverb can't wait to get it, and hold on to it since they are no longer made and discontinued and selling for more now
Tell me about the sequencer ... can you have 4 sequences going at once? Variable length on the sequences? Sounds very nice... especially output through the Strymon boxes.
Hey there not sure if you still check messages on these but have you ever used an Analog 4? Im torn between the two of these, your demos are much better than most. Is the synth capable of clean sounds or does the brassiness permeate?
Josh K it's actually pretty flexible, I'll do a demo soon where we start off from initial patch and make some well known synth sounds besides the brass pads.
Would you recommend this to someone (me, for example) looking to get their first polyphonic synth? I'm absolutely torn between the mopho x4 and the korg minilogue. On one hand, the minilogue seems like a steal at it's price, but the x4 just seems to have a lot more potential for creation of sounds, as well as a bit more quality in general. Thanks :)
+Raphyr As a first synth this one might be a bit too complex... The minilogue might be a better entry point at its price and it's relatively straight forward. This synth sounds better and will be able to do much more in the long term... So think about those 2 things when buying.
JediSid I have ±4 years of experience with digital synthesis (I like programming my own sounds) and have just recently sold my microbrute because it was way too simple (programming potential/monophone), so I'm actually looking for complexity :) Which is why I'm kind of sceptical for the minilogue. But then I'm not rich lol. Such a dilemma :')
Do you find basic programming and live tweaking intuitive on this thing. I'm confident with a Bass Station 2 and an MS20 but want some polyphony. How much of a leap is this thing? I've tried the Blofeld but it is just too menu driven for me.
+Paul Round Thanks 😃 I received it a few days ago and am really liking it so far. It sounds fantastic, still haven't gotten it sounding as good as you have though.
Kato Shinsaku same exact sound engine but the Tetra is 4 parts multi-timbral. I would get the MoPho first so you have full size keys and poly chain it with a Tetra down the road for 8 voice mayhem.
Abit of a noob im looking to get my first synth and I'm stuck between this and a Juno 106, is there any reason I might want to go with one or the other? Im into bands like Empire of the Sun for those dreamy sounding patches
David Picarazzi I believe you can do a lot more with the DSI, you have 4 modulation slots, 4 sequencers and 4 LFO's on top of the great synth engine. So the possibilities are endless, if you can get over the initial complexity of learning this thing.
I have very little experience with Elektron, I know they're good, but complicated. I prefer the old-school vibe of DSI, sound wise they're both great from what I heard.
MJ F The MoPho is polyphonic analogue through and through. The Pro2 is a hybrid digital/analogue mix and is paraphonic NOT polyphonic so all the voices share a filter and envelope. Both have their place. If you want specifically leads and basses go Pro2. If you want weird sounds and pads on top of that, and the ability to poly chain the other MoPho and Tetras go with the x4.
At this price point they had to make it at least 8 polyphony, come on.Im going for Behringer DeepMind12 ,12 polyphony ,killer TC Electronic and Klark Teknik sound fx,and all in all just the better analog synth IMO.
T.I.N Mateus as for the price, the Mopho x4 was release about 5 years ago. The analog revival has become a bigger business since then. The price will go down even further with new competition and the REV 2 being released. But that is not to discredit the Mopho x4 in anyway. Dave Smith Instruments make SOLID instruments with great build quality and a flexible tonal character with tons of modulation.
Maybe the better choice compared to Behringer DeepMind12, though only 4 voices? But only if you LIKE and NEED that "pure analog blahblah". I think, thats a weird ridiculus hype, after people are fed up with many voices on digital synths, now they want "again" analog gear with a few voices for much money. haha. Go for DIVA AU/VST Synth if you want analog Sounds, my opinion.
Arlon Rando The good thing is you have options now. You can find digital, hybrid, analog, monophonic, polyphonic synths everywhere at all prices. Make sure you get something that makes you happy.
@@fortheloveofnoise9298 knobs are solid, but I changed mine to 08 knobs. If you want to see cheap looking look at the new Take 5. That thing looks like a toy. I added a Tetra to make it an 8 voice. It sounds bigger than an 08.
Finally, I found the video I've been looking for! This is a great example of pads on the Mopho X4. I'm buying one of these tomorrow! Thank you.
Haha glad to help.
Remember, no delay and reverb on this guy
Very rich and crisp sounding synth! Awesome!
Beautiful demonstration
very nice sounds ! thanks !
Very good!
This Synth is so dope. Man I want one.
go get one, it's dropped in price.

Love the ambient action man, really nice synth for those sounds, every other video i've heard of it is a bit more aggresive, and yours sounds so nice
It really is a versatile synth, you can get a great range of sounds from it if you explore.
this. seems like every dsi fan is into trance.
Love this synth! I regret selling it
+beephouse it's still around, get one :)
Confirmed, very nice Synth...with a bit of work u can achieve the best results ! proud owner and great tracks came out from using it5:))
Andygaro1 AG1 I agree, enjoy your x4.
mopho x4 is a like a strong solid side arm, especially in bass and single key synth..
spikemansss yep, I often use it as a primary weapon though.
just bought one for $600 like new on reverb can't wait to get it, and hold on to it since they are no longer made and discontinued and selling for more now
You're going to love, it is one of the best sounding synths I own. Very musical.
I love it! the way it sounds its amazing. hey quick question have you used any pedal effects with it?@@jedisid
Tell me about the sequencer ... can you have 4 sequences going at once? Variable length on the sequences? Sounds very nice... especially output through the Strymon boxes.
Valdis Krebs As far as I know, it has a single polyphonic sequencer with fixed length. I could check for you. Thanks
This sounds so lush... mmmm
That would be awesome. I am not pretty much between the prophet 08 and the analog 4, but leaning heavily towards the p08

+Raphyr this might work for you then, try to find a used one, also new one's have a price drop now...
+Raphyr I bought a mopho x4 and my first analog synth and just watching some videos and tutorials and wasn't to hard to figure out!
how do these pads match up to the prophet 12? I want to buy either or I just know this thing is half the price 😅
Van Hau5 the P12 is a lot more complicated and can do much more sound design, it also has triple the polyphony.
is this exactly like a prophet 08 just with half of the voices ?
MinimalWave1982 not quite, they are a bit different in terms of oscillators and modulation/sequencing. Both are great.
But I think the 2 suboscillators can make the difference.
Do you find basic programming and live tweaking intuitive on this thing. I'm confident with a Bass Station 2 and an MS20 but want some polyphony. How much of a leap is this thing? I've tried the Blofeld but it is just too menu driven for me.
I think you'll be fine. Menu diving is minimal and most tweaking is direct and quick
+Paul Round Thanks 😃 I received it a few days ago and am really liking it so far. It sounds fantastic, still haven't gotten it sounding as good as you have though.
Enjoy it, don't forget to play around with some Reverb and Delay for some big sounds!
Is TETRA the same sound? I am worrying that I should buy Mopho X4 or TETRA(Used).
Yes, the Mopho X4 is the keyboard version of the Tetra module. Same sound engine and architecture.
Kato Shinsaku same exact sound engine but the Tetra is 4 parts multi-timbral. I would get the MoPho first so you have full size keys and poly chain it with a Tetra down the road for 8 voice mayhem.
@@HotStrange also Mopho x4 has a few features the tetra lacks...but also the reverse as well

JediSid I've come back to listen to you play several times. Sounds great!
Thank you so much!
Did you end up making a decision between the 2?
Josh K Yes! I got an X4. I'm just now learning my way around on it. Great keyboard!
Mopho x4 or pro 2?

It`s a Tetra innit ?
Noiselab Project yeah same engine as the Tetra.
The tetra is multi-timbral though, same voice architecture but the tetra is technically more capable.
is this better than the tetra?
cfcreative1 they are the same engine / module. This one is a full keyboard with more controls.
Thanks from what I read looks like I would go for the Tetra
@@jedisid I don't think so.
skip buying this and save foR the XX

Extremely well built, and the modulation options are in my opinion the best.

Looks cheap, tiny knobs, weird small layout.
far away from cheap
The layout is so you can put a desktop unit on the right to expand it to 5 voices...or 8 depending on the unit
