    Second comment, Samhain is pronounced " Sow-win" Gaelic is hard , we understand! Also, as being a Wiccan myself, Samhain is considered our new year. It is the time of harvest and the time to connect with the earth as well as our ancestors. There is nothing scary about it. However, when Christianity was introduced, the ancient rights became demonized and that is what has carried over. Real Pagans do not celebrate this time of year with scary over done and insulting costumes. We gather and share in our harvest around a bond fire, commune and more. By the way, we normally wear white on this day. When Pagans wear black we are attempting to block negative energy from ourselves. That is why you see us wearing so much black, because people are crazy!!😂
