loved your video great tips that i will use , on your exhaust headers i see that you used 1.5" cast iron elbows what did you use for the flanges ,, I have a 1948 M5 that i want to do this on again great job
I have watched this several times...I am familiar with the sound of the little flathead and as soon as it turned over "I knew"...wonderful job...love it.
I'll have to share this with my Father in law, he's in his 80's now - but before he became an automotive / mechanical engineer, as a teenager he worked at a Studebaker dealership, and had his own (I can't remember which year or model) souped-up Studebaker 6.
Love these Studebakers’ ; in fact I loved all of’em: wish they would make a comeback without looking like a Toyota, Honda, Cadillac, Chevy and so on. Today I can’t tell one from the other and forget knowing the year of the cars now-a-days. It’s like lookin’ at a flock of sheep. Bland. White. The same.
Thanks for your kind words. We have passed your comments on to the owner, Scott. The head was a donation from a club member, and the headers were fabricated out of steam pipe fittings. There was a bit of money spent on it for parts and reconditioning of the head, but Scott did all of the labour himself, so was able to achieve a great result for reasonable $s.
That sounds fantastic. I'm thinking about a hawk that has the six in it, and this makes me wonder about a v8 swap. As nice as this is I bet it cost you a ton to do.
Larry, if you send me you email address, I will pass it on to Scott who is happy to help if he can. Please send email to webmaster from link on our website.

What a great job on the little Champion engine! The car itself is also beautiful.
A wonderful Champion, it's a beautiful engine and I love the headers and dual exhausts.

Very nice job! Fun to see the right hand drive.
conduite a droite ?
Nice video and well done. Good to see Bill Cathcart's photo!
good for you, your keeping it all original.. too many guys here in the states would just throw a new v6 or 8 in a old classic car
I used to live in South Bend where the Studebaker's were made in America.
My first car except mine was the V8 commander. Loved that car

Great job! Did you do anything to the carburetor?
